User questions & answers

Question: how much does this weigh
Answer: Not much. I can't remember it's exact weight (threw out the box), but anyone with any reasonable amount of strength can fold it flat and carry it away. It is not a heavy duty piece of workshop furniture at all. It's hey flimsy.
Question: I would like to know how far apart the two top boards will go. Does anyone have that measurement for me
Answer: the span between the two black boards in the picture is 4-3/8". But with the spacers that fit into pegholes on top of the boards (shown in yellow), the maximum span is just under 10".
Question: How do you open it
Answer: I assume you mean how do I set one up? The answer is the legs are tucked in underneath the top of the horse. They fold and pivot, fitting nicely underneath. Easy to store, transport and use. They are relatively heavy, so very stable (why I chose these over others). To setup, turn the horse over, unfold the legs until they are secured behind their stop.
Question: I would like to work on my AR-15 and I need a vise. Can I mount a vise on it
Answer: Depends on the size of the vise. The table top is made of two jaws that open and close. If your vise is large, it will extend over the second jaw and opening and closing will be hard or impossible. I have a smaller vise mounted on mine and it works very well. The table top jaws work well as a soft vise too.

User questions & answers

Question: Will this vise fit a porter cable floor drill press
Answer: It is noisy, I actually wear ear plugs when using it. The ear plugs cut the noise out for the most part. But I have to turn the volume way up on the TV to hear it with the ear plugs in. I do not think it is any nosier than any other machines I have used. I use to use one at the gym and it was nosier than this one. I do really like the machine and for the price it is well worth it. I have done a little over 15,000 floors on it since owning it and have not had any major issues with it.
Question: Is this vise steel jawed so I can add the soft pads to them. I guess the magnetic pads won't work if they aren't steel
Answer: Approximately 34".
Question: What is the country of origin
Answer: From placing the order to receiving the unit is typically 2-3 weeks. Hope that answers your question!
Question: Distance between mounting slots
Answer: My husband is 6 ft and we have 8ft ceilings in our basement. It works for him but is close. Also can make a slight difference on whether lean forward or back.
