Answer:	I haven't measured but in my case it solved my problem. Basically -- I am painting my house and I was facing a particular problem. At the roof line, how can I take off the gutters while the ladder is sitting on them. The stand off made it possible to stand off from the roof itself. Anyway, the width is equal to a typical American window width and the stand off it about 6 inches at the top. Hope that was a little helpful ....

Answer:	It is designed to use on a wall but I also have vinyl and have a small addition that is flat enough for a membrane roof. I can use the end (with no gutter) to place the ladder on the facia and since it is covered with aluminum does no damage. I would suggest getting gutter screens to avoid this task completely.

Answer:	Mine came in a beat up box and u-bolts were missing. I returned it and bought another one from Zoro. The U-bolts and a few other screws are included with the stabilizer.

Answer:	The ladder just leans against it. It does seem pretty secure, as long as the ladder is angled to lean against the house. Also, I have seen devices you can buy that you can clamp the ladder to the gutter, if you want. You can find them on amazon.

Answer:	I'm not sure what a speed screw gutter hanger is, but I can tell you this device rests in between the supports for the gutter. It is easily placed using a broom handle and when the ladder rests against it there isn't pressure on the gutter. The rubber on the device helps to hold the ladder in place and the ladder is very very stable.
Question:	Will the weight of it and the ladder cause an alluminum gutter to sag
Answer:	It worked well with my Little Giant ladder. The weight of the ladder is against the back of the gutter so it doesn't touch the front of the gutter that would cause it to bow or sag.

Question:	Will this work with the AC 78 Quick click stabilizer
Answer:	Based on the pictures of each item, I do not believe this item will work “with” the Werner 97P stabilizer installed on the ladder. The Werner 97P installs on the ladder with u-bolts using tools....this item installs on ladder using no tools. The cross- bar of the Werner 97P I believe will interfere with and/or prevent the proper installation of the AC 78 quick stabilizer.....the Werner 97P will need to be removed from the ladder. The major difference between the two items is the total distance of “stand-off” each product offers. Some houses have a larger depth of “eav” overhang requiring the use of the Werner 97P stabilizer to be installed on the ladder to properly accommodate the work requirement.
Question:	span widths - 49/57/65 - would it be possible to drill additional holes in between those that are already there to get different specific widths
Answer:	I need to customize this a bit to span a large window that was close to the corner of a house. I bought some 1 3/4" OD (1 37/64" ID) 304 stainless steel square tubing from Grainger. P/N 4YUL3. This is a heavier wall and stronger material than the stock center section (which I needed with the longer span), but still fits the ubolts, and gives a lot of options for customization. I don't recall if I used stainless just for corrosion resistance, or that was the only material I could find that had the combination of ID and wall thickness that I wanted. Cost about as much as the stabilizer, but when I'm 28' in the air, I'm not counting pennies.
Question:	I wonder how much pressure you can put on vinyl siding with foam insulation underneath? On wood/brick only
Answer:	Well, I'm a woman and needed some help with getting some shutter screws loosened, so I enlisted my neighbor, who is a burly guy of about 250 lbs. My house has vinyl siding and there was no problem. I also pressure washed my house and used the stabilizer and had no resulting damage whatsoever. I did use the rubber pads, so that is helpful.

Answer:	I was skeptical about this being able to rest on the roof when I cleaned gutters. But it works. I have a shallow sloping roof and the stabilizer rests on the roof about 8 inches above the gutter with the ladder at an appropriate angle. I can clean the gutters without damaging them, which was why I purchased the stabilizer. It shouldn't hurt the shingles as long as you're careful.

Question:	So for any ladder that this is being used on, you're basically drilling into the ladder to install nuts/bolts for the mounts
Answer:	Yes, But, All ladders, even Werner, are not the same. I have one 28 foot Werner aluminum extension ladders and a half dozen fiberglass step ladders and baker scaffolding. I would have had to structurally modify the fiberglass ladder in order to attach the leveler, so, I did not attach a leveler to any of them. Note that it is very handy and comfortable to use a fiberglass step ladder on uneven ground for electrical work. I attached put a leveler on each leg of a 28 foot extension ladder and just checked and there are 6 shims on each leveler base to raise the leveler above the step joints. Note that the base is permanently attached to the ladder leg and it must be parallel to the ladder. The leveling mechanism attaches to the ladder. Since I got 2 base units with each of the 4 leveling systems I purchased, I had 4 left over (after attaching to my scaffolding - see my review of the leveler). So I put 2 on the extension ladder and still have 2 base units left. I use the levelers on the scaffolding whenever I use scaffolding outside. But I have never used the levelers on the extension ladder as it is too easy to just use scraps of 2x6 pressure treated lumber which I leave in various spots in the yard.

Answer:	I can extend one leg ten inches. I cannot praise this device enough! (I do remove the extender when I move the ladder an appreciable distance because of the extra weight -- I'm a geezer.)
