Answer:	Since this is both a light and an exhaust fan, it likely won't fit. In addition to the rough opening, you will also need to install ductwork for this unit.

Answer:	I have the light and fan on separate switches.

Answer:	Should be possible. There are 3 wires ground, light, and fan. Just hook up the dimmer to the light only. If you hook up the dimmer to the fan and light you will have a fan issue.
Question:	Can you change the trim ring and insert an LED bulb
Answer:	I guess that you probably could change out the trim rings on these units IF YOU CAN FIND THEM! I did not change the trim ring, but I did use BR 30 LED small flood bulbs which are readily available at Home Depot, Lowes and probably Amazon in both of my Broan 744 units. They are smaller than PAR 38 floods so there is a space between the trim rings and the bulbs, but I don't mind because they are in toilet areas in the master bathroom. I am an optometrist and I am therefore very picky about color temperature and light spread. I chose this course of action. It is easier to go to the store, buy a few different BR 30 or PAR 38 LED bulbs with different color temperatures, try them at home, see which you prefer, and return the ones which you don't like.

Answer:	Not really, since it moves a lot of air. I'm not sure how quiet something that forceful can be. I needed it to move air out the windows so the 20' x 20' room could then be detoxed (cats) with an air purifier. I guess whether the noise is a factor, tho it's not as bad as many others, is a personal choice.

Question:	how difficult is the install without a preexisting fan
Answer:	There are two metal mounting brackets on the fan that mount to the structure with screws. A 3" flexible duct runs from the fan to a wall or roof cap. Two adjustable 3" metal screw clamps are required to hold the 3" flex duct to the fan & cap. An electrical circuit is required to power the fan & it requires an on-off switch. This requires a moderate amount of skill.

Answer:	They are the same fan. You are correct, the QTXEN110H is NuTone branded , and the QTXE110S is Broan branded.

Answer:	I used this model to replace a smaller Broan that was installed this way. It is about half way up the angled ceiling and near the shower. We used an insulated vent. The hardest part was getting the 6" vent through the narrow space along the roof line (the old fan had a 4" vent). Works great. We love the humidity sensor and automatic delayed shutoff for those times our kids forget to turn it on before they shower.

Question:	Does this connect to a 4" or a 6" duct
Answer:	I think it is either 3" or 4". I would get the 70 CFM if room larger than 8' x 5'.
Question:	I am trying to replace the burned out light bulb but I can't get the light cover off
Answer:	There is 2 tabs on the lens . Take a small screw driver and push in on 1 tab it should release the light cover. The tab is about 1 inch wide. They are straight across from each other.
Question:	how do you remove motor and fan
Answer:	I had to climb through attic crawl space acces in adjoining bedroom and squeeze, wriggle my way til I was able to reach where fan was mounted(which wasn't easy, for I am a big guy). It was mounted on joists in bathroom ceiling. Make sure you bring all the tools you're gonna need because backing up was truly hard( I forgot some tools the first time up there) You have to remove the exhaust hose from unit first, then electrical connections. Removing the mounting wood screws was the hardest part cause the initial installers used 3 inch screws which were far too long for such an installation. I replaced them with 1 inch screws. Replacing the fan in reverse order. Screw in, make electrical connections then exaust hose. All in all it was way harder then I expected but was very satisfied with outcome and money I saved doing it myself.
Question:	description says 100w light with 7w nightlight. The 679 does not have a night light. Does the 678 have a built in nightlight? Picture would help
Answer:	No it does not. I bought this because it is listed in the amazon description as having one. I went to install it and found the amazon description was wrong. I did not find their error until I went to install it and had to return it two months later. They allowed the return but despite the error being on their part, they only issued a partial refund. It's been months since they were told and they still have the 7W nightlight feature listed.

Answer:	The battery compartment will not open and I will return it for this reason only!! very frustrating

Answer:	Yes it tilts down at its lowest tilt, but only very slightly and not enough for my needs. I put mine on top of a kitchen cabinet across the room from the oven and the down tilt was not pointing down enough to reach the oven area. Would have been helpful if the manufacturer had made more of a downward tilt and less of a straight up tilt, which actually starts tilting downward on the back side before it oscillates back downward.

Question:	how do you attach the pull chain to the outer housing clip
Answer:	Yes, it's straight exhaust.
Question:	I am replacing and existing 8" dim. brown fan with has a dimmer to control speed . I do not need the pull chain.will this work
Answer:	The 510 is a room to room fan. It is not for exhausting to the outside. It is for indoor use only. You would need to install some kind of exhaust fan. Additionally, you would also need a way to draw in fresh or make up air. For additional assistance, please contact our Technical Support Department at 800-637-1453.
Question:	How many watts does this unit use
Answer:	You should check your local building codes. Generally it is not permissible to vent a bathroom exhaust fan into another interior space, even a void space (like an attic, or between the walls.) This is especially true if you have a tub or shower in the bathroom.
Question:	My wall is 11.5 thick. Can i install it
Answer:	On high it's not real quiet but if it's the only thing on in the room you can hear it. If you turn it down it makes almost no noise but it won't push much air at that level. I wouldn't buy this product again for what I was trying to do. I was trying to heat/cool and adjacent 12 x 12 room and there just isn't enough volume to be that effective. Noise wise its like a small bathroom fan I suppose.
