Question:	Does this connect to a 4" or a 6" duct
Answer:	I think it is either 3" or 4". I would get the 70 CFM if room larger than 8' x 5'.
Question:	I am trying to replace the burned out light bulb but I can't get the light cover off
Answer:	There is 2 tabs on the lens . Take a small screw driver and push in on 1 tab it should release the light cover. The tab is about 1 inch wide. They are straight across from each other.
Question:	how do you remove motor and fan
Answer:	I had to climb through attic crawl space acces in adjoining bedroom and squeeze, wriggle my way til I was able to reach where fan was mounted(which wasn't easy, for I am a big guy). It was mounted on joists in bathroom ceiling. Make sure you bring all the tools you're gonna need because backing up was truly hard( I forgot some tools the first time up there) You have to remove the exhaust hose from unit first, then electrical connections. Removing the mounting wood screws was the hardest part cause the initial installers used 3 inch screws which were far too long for such an installation. I replaced them with 1 inch screws. Replacing the fan in reverse order. Screw in, make electrical connections then exaust hose. All in all it was way harder then I expected but was very satisfied with outcome and money I saved doing it myself.
Question:	description says 100w light with 7w nightlight. The 679 does not have a night light. Does the 678 have a built in nightlight? Picture would help
Answer:	No it does not. I bought this because it is listed in the amazon description as having one. I went to install it and found the amazon description was wrong. I did not find their error until I went to install it and had to return it two months later. They allowed the return but despite the error being on their part, they only issued a partial refund. It's been months since they were told and they still have the 7W nightlight feature listed.

Question:	what is the warranty
Answer:	I believe it is 1 year! As a contractor I have installed at least 30 Broan light-fan-heat units in the last 5 years with no callbacks or warranty problems!
Question:	Does this fan use a 12/2, or a 12/3 wire. Does it come with the light switch
Answer:	I used the existing 14/2 for the lights and a new 12/2 circuit for the heat. This does not come with a switch, I used a stacked switch for the vent and heat. This fan definitely warmed up the bathroom.
Question:	does this require a Vent thru the roof. isn't it bad to have air vented into your attic space
Answer:	It's generally against code to obstruct existing attic vents for use with a bathroom exhaust duct. It's also against code to vent into the attic space (due to mold risk). This is, however, a very common code violation. I bought a new home last year and out of a 61-page report. in which incorrect venting for the dryer and the microwave we flagged, the inspector didn't even mention that the bathrooms were venting into the attic!
Question:	What size cutout is needed
Answer:	My fan measures 8 3/4" x 14 7/8". This is what I used for roughing it in and it fits like a glove. Not an OJ glove but a tight fitting glove.

Cubic feet per minute, known as CFM, is how air movement is measured. Choose a fan that can move at least 1 CFM per square foot. 7141 Series Bath Fans choose from 50 CFM, 80 CFM, and 110 CFM

Answer:	Using the recommended A15 medium base. This is a small bulb recommended for ceiling fans, rated at 60watts. I used a GE refresh Daylight bulbs. I will admit it is dim but in the bathroom I installed it, I have a 4 light, light bar. It would be great if I could find a Medium base in a 60watt soft light

Answer:	Absolutely. The way it comes wired the light and fan come on together from one switch. The night light comes on with a separate switch. If you can live without the night light, just wire the rest of it according to instructions. Very good instructions, by the way.

Answer:	It is 3 inches from the ceiling. The fan is a little noisy, but not as bad as a lot I have heard. It does a good job of taking the steam out of the bathroom. The nice thing is it doesn't look like your normal exhaust fan.

Answer:	The HD80L fan light has several feature that enhance the performance of this model. THe 678 only offers 50 CFM with a plug-in, permanently lubricated motor. THe HD80L offers a little more power at 80 CFM and is designed for continuous operation. It is a little louder than the 678, but considered heavy duty since the motor can be continuous.

Answer:	This unit is an 80 CFM exhaust fan. It requires a 4" duct. It does not come with a 4" to 3" adapter. We would recommend a different model if you have a 3" duct. Please review models LPN80 and/or EZ80N. Both of these models have a reducer. We would suggest that you have rigid duct, and we would recommend that you have very short duct run. Question:	how do i take old one out
Answer:	Assuming that it's a direct replacement (mine was), there are detailed instructions for installation in the box. Use them in reverse. Typically, you have to snap out the diffuser and unscrew the light bulb. that should expose a couple of screws that hold the inner panel in place. That further exposes the metal box which is screwed into the joist at some point. BEFORE doing anything, make sure that the power is off, preferably at the main circuit box. If this is replacing a different shaped fan and you have not done anything like this - get a professional electrician to do it for you and watch him/her so you will know how to do it if you ever need to in the future.

Answer:	We have a large master bath, about 10 x 12, and it does well in here as a supplement to our heat pump (we keep the rest of the house around 62 degrees in the winter). It takes it about 10 minutes to get it up to about 68. Ventilation is no problem, it works very rapidly in a bath this size.

Answer:	You don't need a shade that comes from the manufacturer. If you unscrew the finial in the center, that holds the domed shade to the device, you can take the dome to Home Depot or Walmart, etc, and get another that will fit. Barring this, if your dome shade was accidentally broken, if you measure the circumference of the metal, oil rubbed area in which the shade sits, you should be able to find a standard sized replacement, frosted glass domed shade, which will fit. Answer:	I "painted" all the metal with a clear rubberizer coating spray as it does tend to rust after a year of two, so I bought a new one and sprayed it before installing. That worked great. I don't think paint would be any different. That said though, I am on my third in 6 years in our master bath that gets alot of use due to rust issues ( which prompted me to rubberize the last one. Too bad it's not stainless...

Question:	what led bulbs do you use? I have metal tabs that stck up and effects the lenth of the bilbs
Answer:	I bought an A15 bulb with 120V 7W 500 Lumens, it was also meant for damp spaces. That will fit the 2 main sockets. The nightlight was, I think, an E-12 bulb. Check the manufacture's guide before your trip to the store.
