What caused you to think you needed a transformer? Are you running this stand-alone without a doorbell, or is your existing doorbell transformer lower than 16 volts ac or lower than 20 VA?

Answer:	I would be EXTREMELY wary of plugging a heater into a power strip. If you are running something at 1500W that line has to be good. The longer the cord, the more electrical resistance. The more resistance, the more heat (and risk of fire). The more cords that can be faulty, the higher the chance one is.Get a GOOD surge protector, and test and inspect it regularly. Make sure its one with lights that indicate if it is protecting properly. Also it's best to get a new surge protector every 5 years or so because they will inevitably absorb some small surges that wear them out over time.When it comes to devices that can burn your house down you should take electrical safety very, very seriously.
Question:	Owners manual (Pg 3) states only to use WIN100 with 3-prong (grounded) appliance cords!!! Most space heater cords only have 2 prongs. Experiences
Answer:	The only bad thing you can do as far as 2 or 3 pronged plugs go, is to remove the third grounding prong on a plug in order to make it work in an ungrounded (2-prong) receptacle or extension cord. Otherwise plugging a 2-pronged device into a 3-pronged outlet is perfectly safe. The 3rd prong is usually connected to the metal chassis of an appliance so that if something inside gets knocked around or wet and ends up energizing the metal chassis - it will cause the circuit to short and hopefully trip the circuit breaker, instead of creating a shock hazard by energizing the other metal parts on the device. Question:	can this be used for outside dog house heat lamp in the winter? I would want it to come on when the temp drops below 50 degrees Fahrenheit
Answer:	That is exactly what I use it for. It's been in the dog house for 2 years now. The chew proof comments are not really valid. You wouldn't want the dog getting the chance to make contact with the heater right? So to solve the situation, youd get some welded fence wire and put a box around the heating element. I put the controller in the same large welded wire box. Dogs can't get to any of it which is the most responsible way to keep it from being broken, chewed, or catching a fire (I keep hay in the box too).

Answer:	On the back of the package, it states: "Maximum rating: 1800 Watts, 15 Amps, 120V AC. To be used with GFCI outlets." Since our heaters were placed in a pump house (for well water), with went with standard outlets, but the GFCI would be safer. Hope this helps.

Answer:	These types of devices are close enough for the use they are intended for. The industry that makes bi-metal switches (the lower cost approach) has been around for a long time, if that is what it uses (being the older technology). Bi-metal 120vac switches are usually accurate to plus or minus 1F and usually have a 10 degree spread (on to off/off to on). Digital controls are much more accurate (I didn't tear on apart yet). But, this unit is intended for controlling a heater to keeping a bird bath from freezing or a water pipe that is exposed to low temperatures, etc. This type of control is not suitable for growing a culture in an incubating dish (a job where exactly is important). You also wouldn't' want to use it for keeping your gutters and down spouts from freezing because my experience is that a control to do that job should come on around 35F and off at 25F.

Answer:	Though Lux tries to sell this for its own thermostats, it should work with the older ecobee Smart Si; ecobee's Power Extender Kit (PEK) for that model was sold separately and, like the Lux, used an extra component behind the wall (besides the actual kit at the furnace or zone panel) to multiplex other wires so another wire could become the C-wire. The first-gen PEK, like the Si, is no longer being made but can still be ordered from certain HVAC supply houses. You can also use the Venstar Add-A-Wire Kit (the most popular one) or other third-party C-wire adapters made for smart thermostats in general; those come with an in-wall multiplexing component as well. Later ecobee models (ecobee3, ecobee3 lite, ecobee4, ecobee SmartThermostat with voice control) come with a PEK designed for that model in the box; use that instead of this device. Check thermostat temp range spec, not heating spec.

Answer:	Hi there, this unit REQUIRES an internet connection, based on a WiFi (wireless) connection. Once the device establishes an internet connection to the Honeywell cloud (which is cool!) you can effectively control the thermoostat from anywhere you have an internet connection.... even your smartphone. Answer:	The WiFi setup requires you to create an account on mytotalconnectcomfort.com. It’s not that hard. The biggest problem with this thermostat is the unreliable remote connectivity ever since Honeywell spun off their thermostat division 6 months ago. Now it’s frequent periods of time where the thermostat will not respond to remote commands. It’s maddening
Question:	What if i have a C wire
Answer:	When you put it on circulate, the fan comes on for about 10 minutes every 20 minutes or so. The owners manual says it runs about 35% of the time. I used this feature this Fall with the system off (no heat or a/c) just to circulate the air through my Filtrete filters.
