9 best baseboard heater 240s
A baseboard heater 240 is a type of electric heating unit commonly used to provide warmth in residential and commercial spaces. Here's what you need to know about these heaters:
Heating Method: Baseboard heaters 240 operate on electricity and are typically installed along the baseboards or near the floor of a room. They generate heat through a heating element, often made of metal, which heats up when an electric current passes through it.
Voltage: The "240" in the name refers to the voltage rating of these heaters. They are designed to operate at 240 volts, which is standard for electric baseboard heaters. This voltage level allows for efficient heating in larger spaces.
Design: Baseboard heaters consist of a metal housing that houses the heating element and a convection chamber. Cold air from the room enters the bottom of the heater, is heated by the element, and then rises out of the top, creating a natural convection current that circulates warm air throughout the room.
Thermostat Control: Baseboard heaters 240 are typically controlled by a thermostat. The thermostat allows users to set the desired temperature, and the heater cycles on and off to maintain that temperature. Some models come with built-in thermostats, while others require a separate thermostat installation.
Zoning: One advantage of baseboard heaters is that they allow for room-by-room zoning. Each room can have its own thermostat and heater, allowing for individualized temperature control and energy savings.
Installation: Installing baseboard heaters typically involves mounting them along the baseboard or on the wall near the floor. Proper wiring to a 240-volt electrical circuit is essential, and it's usually a job for a qualified electrician.
Safety: Baseboard heaters are generally considered safe, but they can get quite hot during operation. It's crucial to keep flammable materials away from them and ensure that they are installed correctly to prevent any safety hazards.
Energy Efficiency: Baseboard heaters are known for their efficiency because they convert all the electricity they consume into heat. However, they can be more expensive to operate compared to other heating methods, such as gas or central heating, depending on electricity costs in your area.
Quiet Operation: These heaters operate quietly since they do not have a fan. The natural convection process generates minimal noise.
Maintenance: Baseboard heaters usually require minimal maintenance. Regular cleaning of the heating element and ensuring that there are no obstructions in the airflow path can help maintain their efficiency.
In summary, a baseboard heater 240 is an electric heating unit that operates at 240 volts and is designed to provide efficient and zoned heating for individual rooms or spaces. They are controlled by thermostats and are known for their quiet operation and relatively straightforward installation. However, their energy efficiency and operating costs can vary depending on electricity rates in your area.

User questions & answers
Question: | will this product work for a gas furnace and a separate AC unit |
Answer: | In most cases, Nest thermostats can get enough power from your system’s heating and cooling wires. But in a small number of situations you may need to connect a common or C wire to deliver enough consistent power to your thermostat when your heating and cooling wires are not able to deliver the needed power for your Nest thermostat. Battery drain issues normally happen when the power from your heating and cooling system goes out. The 2 AAA alkaline batteries are used as a backup, or to supplement if your system can’t deliver enough power. |
Question: | How many periods i can change temperarure every day |
Answer: | No |
Question: | I need a thermostat that can be programmed different everyday. Does 5-2 mean Saturday and Sunday have to be programmed together |
Answer: | I found an interactive video on my utility’s website (Commonwealth Edison) that ran through the wiring questions. It will tell you if your system is compatible with Nest thermostats. |
Question: | Can i use this with batteries or does it have to have to c wire |
Answer: | No. Sensors are not compatible. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Can you control the temperature |
Answer: | It has a thermostadt that can be digitaly set to the desired temp. Now whether it can be set as low as 45 degrees I am not sure but you surely can set if for 50 degrees and it will function very well. I have a 400 square foot den and on the coldest days, and I am talking 20 degrees below, it will run you out of the room when set on 70 degrees. I had to set it at about 65 degrees to tolerate the heat. This heater really performs well. To answer your question will it turn off once the temp is reached...the answer is YES it will and turn on when it drops below the desired temp too. |

User questions & answers
Question: | How accurate is it? I would be using it for a convection electric heater |
Answer: | Yes, the temporary bypass enables temperature override without changing programming. |
Question: | What is the size? 9 X 7 X 4 appears to be very large |
Answer: | Probably not. This is for a resistive load and the pump motor is an inductive load. I would check with Honeywell to be sure. |
Question: | How is this supposed to mount? It's described as if it is a replacement for a thermostat. That's not my situation |
Answer: | 2 main differences that I see:#1 the wattage is different. for the th106, you have 2000/4000 Watts for (120/240 volts) and the th104 only has 1750/3500 watts. it's not a big deal unless you have requirements on how many or how big of heaters you are controlling. For me, I have 1 medium and 2 small baseboards which totals to 2000 watts on 120 volts.#2 the programming is different. on the th106 you can specify temps for each day of the week-differently, whereas the 104's programming allows for weekend/weekday modes. |
Question: | Is this a double pole thermostat |
Answer: | This unit is wired directly to your 220v 2-wire circuit for the thermostat. This is a line voltage thermostat. |

About Honeywell
Honeywell's roots reach to 1885, when an inventor named Albert Butz patented the furnace regulator and alarm. He formed the Butz Thermo-Electric Regulator Co., Minneapolis, in April, 1886, and soon invented a device he called the "damper flapper” – an ingenious predecessor to the modern thermostat.

User questions & answers
Question: | Can the app on my wife ios phone and my android phone be simultaneously logged in to the app |
Answer: | Yes it will that is what I use mine for. It gives me an AC reading right between the Grid Ready inverter and the power grid. |
Question: | Does the app function when outside the home? Ie. Will I be able to see real-time data for my home while away at work |
Answer: | The P4400-vp can be shipped on international orders. Great Britain and France, even the Island of St. Martin Dutch side (120VAC) and St. Maartin French side (240VAC). have significantly different power from the US. The French and Great Britain use power 240VAC "Phase/ or live leg to ground" instead of the US "live leg to live leg" for 240VAC. Even though this unit is not usable for 240volt it is cleared for international use since the unit tests on phase to ground 120VAC and this is what we use in the US. It would appear that this has to do with the way the ground (round plug) and neutral are utilized in the device. |
Question: | does it sum up power usage for a period of time, like every month |
Answer: | What I understand of resolution on this context is: the increment steps of the measure. A 10 resolution will measure either 0, 10, 20, 30 .... but never a number in between. |
Question: | Is it truly worth 300 bucks |
Answer: | Not really. If you are sure which range is best you should start high and work your way down until you get the accuracy you need. |

Product features
Made in Germany
All CK heaters are made by us in our factory in Germany. We pride ourselves on a reputation for engineering & manufacturing excellence since 1924.
Ultra quiet fan
CK and CKT heaters have galvanized steel, squirrel cage type blowers that operate at a quiet 49.7 dB(a). The glass-reinforced poly-carbonate, radial type blower in CK Trend heaters operates at an even quieter 49 dB(a).
Even-heating down-draft design
CK and CKT heaters pull in cool room air from the top and blow warm air out the bottom. This down-draft design helps to evenly heat a space for maximum comfort.
Stand-alone or supplemental heat
CK heaters can be the sole heat source for small rooms. They can also supplement heat to a room that doesn’t get warm enough from a central source, as sometimes happens with a mini-split retrofit.
Built-in thermostat
All CK heaters have an integral thermostat for easy heat adjustment. CK and CKT heaters can be controlled by a wall thermostat in a room larger than 215 sq. ft.
Booster timer on CKT
The CKT booster timer outputs heat at maximum for up to 60 minutes. When the timer goes off, the CKT reverts to its thermostat setting, maintaining comfort at the original setting.
Frost protection setting
CK heaters have a frost protection setting. The lowest thermostat setting will maintain above freezing temperatures in an appropriately sized space.
CK Trend On/Off Switch
The CK Trend’s convenient and positive on/off switch completely shuts the heater off when it is not needed. The off position will disable the frost protection setting.
Installation notes
These heaters are not supplied with a cord and must be hard-wired.
CK and CKT models stick out 5“ from the wall and the CK Trend models 5⅛”.
Because these are fan heaters that blow warm air out the bottom, the recommended installation location is about 6-8” off floor, with 4” for a minimum.
All CK heaters should be mounted vertically.
Observe all installation manual precautions regarding minimum allowed clearances between the installed appliance and any hard surfaces.
Do not allow combustible materials on or near the heater.
