Answer:	I have both sets; used the ANC7 for about 4 years, now have been using ANC9 for about 1 year. The biggest difference in sound is that ANC9 have a much stronger bass. The noise cancellation is comparable, with ANC9 being marginally better.

But yes, you can use one thin hair. Just use very small amount. I have shoulder length hair and used about a pea size dollop.

Question:	Can you use the fan without the thermostat feature? I don't want it going on and off all night long
Answer:	I think the other replies were with older models? I just purchased this model and there's no issue with opting out of the thermostat feature. As noted in the instructions, to get to continous air flow, you just keep clicking the button through the modes (first you click throught the various thermostat temperatures, and then you get to "high" or "low" as options. If you click high or low either one will stay on continously. Both options are extremely quiet. It sounds like the person who had a louid nose on the low setting had a defective fan.
Question:	I want to use this in a stand-alone one room dance studio with only one window. If it's very hot outside, will this really keep it cool inside
Answer:	It’s not an AC unit so it will only be as cool (or slightly less hot) as the air from the source. That being said you could use this fan on Exhaust to suck hot air out and use a tower fan to create a breeze in the room. But to cool a room on a 90+ degree day, I’d recommend a window AC. This fan will circulate air tho, so it’s not a bad place to start.
Question:	I need the CFM and decibel (noise) ratings on this fan. These are my two most crucial criteria, but no one shows them
Answer:	This is our second window fan. I don't remember what brand/model etc our first fan was, but the CFM WAS WAY higher than this Holmes fan. My assumption is by lowering the maximum fan speed & thus drastically lower the CFM, they can advertise the fan as being quieter and using less energy. ***We have used this fan for 2 years and we DO NOT recommend it if you are looking for a high CFM (volume) fan***

Answer:	I’ve been using an older version of this fan for about 20, yup, 20 years. I use it in a garage studio. Sometimes it runs for months 24/7. It’s slowing down, tons of dirt and mysterious things on it. While it is exhaling i spray wd30 on it till it speeds up again, lol. I have absolutely punished this fan. But like I said, I run it all year, summer and winter. One side died about 4 years ago, but the other is running as we speak. The reason I saw this is because I was looking to see if they still made it. Yay they do; and it is very quiet. Next paycheck I’m getting a new one. I love the intake exhaust function,brilliant! So happy they’re still available. Can’t go wrong, and not a lot of money.

Answer:	Not sure- I wouldn’t recommend this fan. Mine stopped working after just a couple of weeks. I think taking apart would be risky since it isn’t well made.

Answer:	It's about 10 1/2 high and fan itself is about 23 1/2 long. There are fins on either side. The "Fixed" fin is 5" wide. It can be left off completely. The other fin can be expanded. I have the fan in a 31" wide window. The Holmes Box says "fits virtually any window". I read the comment the consumer made about the motor getting very hot. I have not found this to be the case. But then too I only use mine in cooler weather since generally I run central air conditioning. My only other comment is that after buying this Holmes I bought a similar fan made by Comfort Zone which I like a whole lot better because it came with feet so you can easily use it as a sitting unit not just in the window. The way the Holmes is designed that is hard to do. It too has an exhaust feature and it's much easier to see which side is which.It's Model CZ319. I like the fin set up better on the Holmes but overall prefer the Comfort Zone

Answer:	Smaller units that have one compressor only have single refrigerant circuit therefore single stage thermostat. Large units with multiple compressors on two circuits will require multi-stage thermostat. Multi-stage thermostat can work on the single stage system but not vice versa.

Question:	Canyou control this over the internet or do you need to have a wifi conmection
Answer:	I had to use the App to setup wifi connection. I control it on my phone and directly at the T-stat. Did not see a Web site as an option.

Question:	How does the Air Circulate option work? Can it turn on the fan automatically every hour when the heat/cool is not on

Question:	Can you remove the back plate and just use the 3" X 3" thermostat? It is going on top of a 1 X 4 trim board
Answer:	Hi there, The Honeywell CT30A1005 does not require the back plate with install. Hope this helps!
Question:	is this a 2 wire connection
Answer:	yes 2 wire, but be careful...no off switch even though picture may show one.
Question:	I have 3 wires,This thermostat has only connections for 2 wires.Can I still use it
Answer:	This will depend on your situation. If you are just trying to use it for turning on and off a heat source, then it should work just fine. Follow the instructions carefully. Even though you have 3 wires, I'm guessing one of the 3 is not being used. Follow the wire to the other end and see if all 3 wires are hooked up. If there are only 2 hooked up, those same 2 wires will be what you use at the stat. The stat is just like a light switch, just lower voltage. Power will come from your transformer, through the stat, then to the device control you want to turn on. If you have a unique situation and need more help, you can take some pictures and describe your application and send them to me at [email protected] and I will do my best to help you out.
Question:	will this work with a 750 mV system
Answer:	Didn't work for my Millivolt-only, no external power, Empire wall heater. Had to buy a Reed Switch to replace this. See my review 11/13/2020.
