| Answer: | I really don't know but I can tell you my experience. The broken ice maker we were trying to replace had flat round plugin similar to those close fitting extension cords you can by. The cord end that went into the icemaker was square and directly wired into the maker housing. The one from Amazon comes with a rectangular plug in at each end. Thus it would not plug into the receptical of the ref. We were lucky enough to go to an appliance shop and they had the correct wiring harness adapting the new icemaker to our ref. |

| Answer: | If you have a really old 2-wire system, one that does NOT have modern solid state controls, then Ecobee won't work right off the shelf, even with their 2-3 wire power conversion module. These heating plants predate the 1980s and use "dry contact" thermostats. You can make it work if you install a 24v isolation relay. Ecobee outlines the procedure on their web site, but it takes some basic electrical wiring knowledge. I'm not sure if you can use the 2-wire conversion module with an isolation relay - it should be possible somehow or other. If you have a third wire running to the thermostat (it's often there) then you should use it to run 24V to the Ecobee, and ignore the conversion module. |

Note that the "Follow Me" feature is a separate setting (found in the Sensors section as well) that allows the system to track where you are in the house and attempt to heat/cool that part of the house closer to your desired setpoint. |

If motion is detected more near the main and less near the remote (as a %), then the main temperature will weigh heavier than the remote. As well, you do not need to use remotes and can be assigned to work during selected schedules only. It's quite amazing, but I haven't used them on my system yet. I figured I would learn the rest of the system before I introduced them. |

| Answer: | You'll need some wire to hook it up, and you'll have to build a return box for it to sit on, because return is on very bottom, and you'll need a thermastat if you don't have one already as well as a place to vent the exhaust along with exhaust pipe. Other than that I installed this. New gas line, wired it up, built return box along with running all my duct work and connecting it to vents downstairs and upstairs in about 10hrs out of the box. And this was my first time ever doing anything like this! So you should have no problem. FYI if you have an old furnace, there's a chance the thermastat wire runs into a breaker box and converted to 24 volt before entering old furnace!! If this is the case you can just bypass all of it because this furnace gas it's own 24v supply for thermastat( and if it is old thermastat you'll only have 2 wires to hook up, only on thermastat that runs your central air will you have to worry about hooking up more! See the instruction booklet for wiring diagram!(wich for some reason was inside the furnace!! Had to remove both front covers to get to it) you'll have to remove them either way during installation to get to everything. Oh yeah you'll need a few pcs of gas line because female adapter is inside funace I just brought mine straight out the top and u'ed it around and connected gas line" mega lock is your Freind"!!! |

Don't wait for it to get caked with dust as this will cut down on air flow and make your furnace/air conditioner work harder to reach your desired temperature. Filter vendors often recommend changing 4 times per year, but your mileage may vary depending on how much you heat and cool and the cleanliness of the air being moved. I change about 3 times per year, but I could go to twice. Do you change your car filter? How dirty does that get? Be sure the actual size of the filter is correct for your blower. Filtrete nominal sizes and actual sizes differ. I got stuck with 4 filters I can not use. I bought the size 16x25x4, but the end of the filter has the actual size: 16 x 24 1/2 x 4 1/2. the 4 1/2" dimension is too large to fit. |
