Answer:	Hi Scott, thanks for your question! After washing the brush in thinner and getting it as clean as possible, squeeze out most of the excess thinner, then take the brush immediately to the sink while the bristles are still wet. Wash the brush several times with plenty of warm water and soap. Both dish soap and shampoo work well for this step.
Question:	Can this be used to paint over playground equipment metal, walkways, steps etc
Answer:	Hi Don, If you used water based paint then it's best to clean with water. For oil based paint/stainer we recommend using mineral spirits or paint thinner. A couple tips when cleaning: -Let the brush soak in the paint thinner and mineral spirits for 3-5 mins -Don't jam the bristles into the bottom of the cleaning container as it will force paint solids into the heel of the brush where they are difficult to remove -Use the comb to help remove particles from the brush while cleaning -Paint the brush on paper towels to remove excess moisture after clean up and/or slap the brush against your hand to remove excess moisture Hope this helps! Question:	On concrete, does the multi purpose primer need to be applied first
Answer:	Eucalyptus wood works just fine with this oil. Cannot be used on wood previously varnished or Polyeurethaned. Should work absorbing into wood with weathered oil base stain-- we'd recommend a test area be done first to confirm uniformity.
Question:	Could this be used as a filler for small driveway cracks less than .25 inches
Answer:	VOC is for "volatile organic compounds", which is a measure of how much solvent/toxin is released into the air as it dries. The maximum allowed in flat/latex is 250 g per liter, and for other paints, the federal cap is 380 g/l. The lower the VOC number, the better for your health. A con of using lower VOC paints is that they may not be as long lasting or of lower quality than higher VOC paints.
Question:	On an old wood porch, to seal it and not have to paint again for a few years do i use cool foot deck and dock sealant or the polyurethane deck sealer
Answer:	I'm not sure what type of wood you have, but I'm going to assume you have Ipe which is dense and doesn't penetrate well to begin with. I would not recommend applying the Ipe oil over Thompsons Water Seal. It's likely to just sit on top of the water seal and not be able to penetrate the wood. If the oil doesn't soak into the wood, it won't dry. When the oil stays wet too long it gets sticky and dust sticks on the surface. You end up with a big mess. To give you an example, we have an area on our deck that is under a large overhang. It doesn't get much sun and therefore doesn't need to be re-oiled as frequently. Our painter power washed this area and let it dry. Then put another coat of the Ipe oil over an existing coat of Ipe oil. It took months for the oil to dry and because of the wind and all that naturally blows around outside, many particles stuck to the oil and it ended up looking dirty and filmy.
Question:	How do the liquid rubber products stand up to winter snow and rains, and summer sun at 7,000 ft. elevation with significant uv exposure and drying
Answer:	I had an older ipe deck ~ 16 X 46 ft or ~ 740sq ft. maybe a little more porousthan new after stripping older finish. 3 gallons just did it with some areas stillnot fully penetrated. I have a fourth gallon for touch up which seems quite easy.I'm very satisfied with the rich color and grain exposure, very nice and went on easily with a roller and brush touch up. Best ipe finish I've tiried. May use it on someteak on my sail boat.

Answer:	Hi. Thanks for your question! Although Encore is perhaps the toughest wood deck coating on the market, if the boat deck is wood and stays saturated, we would not recommend this product. If the deck is steel, then it would do well. The surface would just need to be properly cleaned and prepared prior to application. If you have any other questions, please feel free to to contact us. Question:	will this work on rooled roofing/ fiberglass shingles
Answer:	I don't know why the reviews are so old. I purchased one container of Encore Wood Deck Coating last September (I think) to rehabilitate an old, splintered, weathered 10' X 12' dock. I sanded and washed the deck before applying the coating and it sealed beautifully. I had enough for two thick coats on the 120 sq.ft. dock and one on the 15' ramp that leads to it. The coating is THICK and requires a good amount of work to get it into the cracks and holes in the wood. Again, mine was badly pocked and cracked but between a long-nap roller and a brush, I was able to create a well-sealed surface. The cool thing is that the paint I used to tint the Encore coating (Glidden, Florida Panthers Dark Red) is the same as what I used for the railings and posts. There is a slight difference in color, but it blends well enough to look uniform.
Question:	what is the best procedure to apply this product
Answer:	This product does create a thermal layer between your feet and the concrete. When you apply Cool to your concrete surface, it helps to create a heat sink in the soil below the slab. This means that the heat is actually pulled through the slab and dissipates into the soil. This is much better than a coating that would reflect the heat upwards. It is an amazing technology. Question:	How many sq feet coverage and can it be applied over rolled roofing
Answer:	Bill. The deck needs to be clean and free from any loose or peeling material. Loose nails should be replaced with deck screws and warped or deficient boards should be repaired or replaced. The Encore site has videos and a great FAQ page for more information.

Question:	Can Patio Tones be used on a wood deck or dock
Answer:	Durabak can certainly be brushed, roller or sprayed. Usually one would only use a brush in corners or tight areas. It is most common to use a roller to apply Durabak. When using a roller for the textured version you should only use Durabak's Stipple Roller Sleeve.
Question:	How soon can we walk on this after painting? and will it cover existing painted pool deck? What kind of prep work is required
Answer:	Surface absolutely must be dry and free of oil or grease. A rough surface is better for adhesion. I rolled this product over my 30 year old boat floor fiberglass surface after I removed the old carpet. Only prep I did was scrubbed old surface with a typical hand brush and vacuumed up all loose material. Mix the paint very very well with a wooden stir stick...do NOT shake it. Poured the product onto the floor and used thin nap paint roller to spread it out evenly. Dried by end of day. Do not paint it over silicon as it will not adhere to that.
Question:	Does this paint adhere well to exposed aggregate
Answer:	It is best to apply Durabak between 32 degrees and less than 90 degrees. Applying it in temps of 90 degrees and above will make it hard to apply as the Durabak may set up too quickly and it will therefore be hard to work with. Durabak needs heat and humidity to cure so applications at the low end of the temperature range would take longer to cure. Optimal temps would be between 70-85 degrees.
Question:	Is there a color that is more grey than brown
Answer:	Yes, you definitely can. You can do both the Textured version or the Smooth version. You may want to do the Textured on the bottom half and the Smooth on the top half. Many customers have coated the full vehicle with Durabak.

As a base coat that is covered in regular paint for concrete it works great. Once covered you end up with a textured, skid resistant floor that is sweep-able and mop-able.

Answer:	Hi, thanks for your question. Newly laid asphalt surfaces should be allowed to cure 45 to 60 days before coating. This curing time frame is necessary for all the solvents in the asphalt to evaporate. The surface must be free of dirt, loose gravel, oil or other foreign matter that could be detrimental to coating adhesion. Any oil or grease spots must be treated with an Oil and Grease Emulsifier. Best results for general preparation will be obtained by power washing; however, conscientious sweeping and water hose rinsing may suffice. Sure Step® is self – priming on bare asphalt.
Question:	How many coats are recommended for a previous stained deck
Answer:	For previously coated surfaces: Remove all dirt, dust, chalk, mildew or flaking paint by power washing. An alternate method is to scrape, wire brush, wash the surface with a solution of one part bleach to three parts water, then rinse thoroughly with clean water and allow it to dry. Sure Step may be easily applied by roller, brush or squeegee. Stir contents thoroughly to assure even dispersion of pigment. Apply product at a rate of 80 to 120 square feet per gallon. May be recoated in 8 hours under good drying conditions. Two coats of Sure Step are required for proper performance.

Answer:	hi Mike, is the top of the rolled roofing uncoated or is there sand / gravel on the surface? Is it asphalt based? Question:	I have read somewhere that grace did not recommend vycor for use in hot southwest climates. can i ask why
Answer:	While I am not an expert, I have used it on my upper deck in this manner. The primer is an epoxy itself, so I believe there is no likelihood of a problem, but if fresh epoxy I would make sure that I had cleaned all the "blush" first with a solvent.
