Question:	Is this tape safe for hardwood floors
Answer:	Absolutely! It will not stain the floor, and when the time comes to remove the tape, it will pull up nicely without leaving any residue.

Answer:	I've only used this recently on a kitchen carpet and I wanted to see how hard it was to remove, so I removed the carpet, and I lifted one corner and though it was stuck tightly to the floor, it pulled off.

HOW TO CUT

We recommend using a knife, and cutting through the tape SPECIFICALLY from the paper side of the roll, which will be facing up. (Using scissors or applying the knife to the sticky side may cause difficulty in cutting). Specifically for carpets, rugs, and runners, we recommend cutting numerous smaller sized pieces, vs longer continuous pieces, to avoid bunching and wrinkling and allow for easier application.

HOW TO APPLY

Unroll and apply the adhesive side of the tape to the underneath of the rug, pad or tile you are planning to lay and secure, leaving on the paper backing. (Alternatively you can stick the adhesive part of the tape to the surface of the floor area where carpet or tile will be laid). Note- Depending on the job, surface and what you are securing, be sure to use an adequate amount of tape for the job. Our extra long role provides and abundance of tape for use for any project from a few stairs to much larger surfaces, such as basements, full floors or garages.

HOW TO PEEL AND SECURE

When you have finished applying all the pieces, we recommend that you remove the paper backing from the pieces one at a time rather than removing the backing from all the tape at once. This will allow you to maneuver your carpet, rug, runner etc. with ease as you secure it and position it in place. Once you're satisfied with the final position, press firmly along the edges and the middle.

REMOVAL

Removal of the tape should be easy and clean and can be done by hand. Start by picking at one of the corners until you achieve a tiny piece that has lifted up. Firmly pull that piece using your hands until the full strip is removed. If one is having difficulty getting the tape up, we recommend a bit of dish soap and warm water. Using a carpet friendly adhesive removal such as goo gone will do also do the trick.

Answer:	Simple answer. No. This is only for installation under hard surface flooring.
Question:	Can this product be used as an underlayment for a glue down linoleum floor? is the listed iic rating of 74 calculated with only this product
Answer:	The description says usable under glue down as well
Question:	How to connect ends of the floor muffler
Answer:	There is no tape on these to connect the end. There is tape down the side to stick them together. If you need to put them and to end there is tape that is meant for this(sold separately). I did not need any.
Question:	What is the thickness of the vapor barrier
Answer:	The thickness of the FloorMuffler underlayment is 2mm. The cell structure of the FloorMuffler is what provides the vapor barrier characteristics. The FloorMuffler does not require and additional vapor barrier, it functions as one.

Question:	Hello, is this a suitable underlayment for stick-on vinyl tiles that are 1.2mm thick
Answer:	No...this underlayment is a fiberboard and will have poor adherence to anything that has to stick to it. I used seam tape with my installation and the tape would easily loose adhesion due to the fibers dislodging from the underlayment and accumulating on the sticky surface of the tape. Otherwise, I am well pleased with products performance for my floating lvp floor.
Question:	I need 3mm in addition to the 1/4 inch that the Steico underlayment provides. Can I use a 3mm foam vapor barrier underneath to make up the difference
Answer:	The thicker the layers, the spongier they get. The more movement, the less wear. I think layer them would be a mistake.
Question:	I'll be installing this on a concrete slab and want to know if I can use it in a bathroom underneath tile or marble floors
Answer:	We recommend using our Underlayment under the floating floors. In the bathrooms, you can use it in places where there is no direct water exposure to the finishing surface. Our clients do install STEICO Underlayment under tile but we have not accumulated enough experience yet to recommend using it this way.
Question:	I see that taping is an option for this flooring but is it better for the microclimate to not tape it
Answer:	Hello! Since the underlayment is designed as Water Vapor system, it has an ability to "breathe" no matter if tape is there or not (air is going through all the surface). Tape might be used on joints if desired to fix the Underlay and prevent moving while installing, tape could be used on full length of joints, by small pieces or could be not used at all.

Incredible sound insulating properties and air quality regulation

The wood fibers, like natural hair and wool, are hollow inside, which allows the internal capillaries to conduct water and air through the fibers. This process is responsible for the incredible heat and sound insulating properties of wood fiber materials as well as Water Vapor Open feature. it is a "breathable material" that allows airflow to circulate.

It can retain moisture to up to 20%-25% of their mass. While the retention of moisture occurs, the fibrous material doesn't lose its thermo-physical properties and sound insulating qualities throughout the process.

It can adapt to changing moisture levels in the air in the space where it is installed. It also works as a natural indoor microclimate regulator in those spaces, due to its capability to absorbs excess moisture from the air, then releases it back when the air is dry. This process minimizes the possibility of stale smells by preventing conditions for mold and mildew growth under the flooring surfaces.
