8 best camcorders dvds

Camcorders with DVD recording capability were a popular consumer electronics product in the early 2000s. These devices combined the functionality of a camcorder with the convenience of directly recording videos onto DVDs. Here's what you should know about camcorders with DVD recording:

  1. Camcorders: Camcorders are portable video cameras designed for recording videos. They are commonly used for personal or professional purposes, allowing users to capture high-quality videos and audio.

  2. DVD Recording: Camcorders with DVD recording capabilities featured built-in DVD drives or slots where blank DVDs could be inserted. This allowed users to record videos directly onto DVDs, eliminating the need for external recording devices or tape-based formats.

  3. Video Quality: The video quality of camcorders with DVD recording varied depending on the model and specifications. Many offered standard-definition (SD) video recording, which was the prevalent format during their popularity.

  4. Ease of Use: DVD recording camcorders were known for their user-friendly interface. Users could easily record videos, finalize DVDs for playback in standard DVD players, and often navigate menus and settings on the camcorder's LCD screen.

  5. Convenience: One of the key advantages of these camcorders was the convenience of recording directly to DVDs.It allowed users to quickly share recorded videos with friends and family without the need for time-consuming tape transfers or digital file conversions.

  6. Limitations: While convenient, DVD recording camcorders had some limitations. DVDs had limited storage capacity compared to digital storage, which meant shorter recording times. Additionally, the video quality was limited to standard-definition, making them less suitable for modern high-definition (HD) standards.

  7. Evolution: As technology advanced, DVD recording camcorders became less popular with the rise of digital camcorders that offered higher video quality and more storage options, such as hard drives and memory cards.

It's worth noting that camcorders with DVD recording capabilities had largely become obsolete due to advancements in digital video technology. Most consumers had transitioned to digital camcorders, smartphones, or other devices for recording and sharing videos. If you are interested in purchasing a camcorder today, it's recommended to explore the latest digital camcorder options, which offer better video quality, storage options, and features.

Question: How can i transferr the vids to my laptop
Answer: Yes but its only like 2.3 mp my phones camera better
Question: Are all acessories included? such as battery/charger, cables, etc
Answer: The speaker is not that good. The picture is fuzzy a lot of the time. As for the sound it barely picks up anything unless you talk really loud into it. I would not recommend using it for your presentation.
Question: what kind of memory card do I use for this camcorder. The exact name please so I can purchase one. Thanks
Answer: If you can get the thing to work, then yes, the videos and stills should be in a standard format. However, as noted in my review I found the thing to be a non-working, poorly made, piece of junk; not worth the clam shell package it came in.
Question: also does it come with anything? I want so bad to do a dvd of my grandkids. please let me know if you have a full size I want to buy it I need
Answer: 3 - AAA's.
Question: How long does the mini dvd last
Answer: I got a 32GB Auamoz card from Amazon that works great.
Question: i just ougbt this and the picture has lines on it and you cant see picture
Answer: Good morning.......I do not have the answer to that question. The individual that I purchased the Vivitar for ended up not having a use for it. However, I would certainly purchase this particular Vivitar model in the future if there were a need, as it is of outstanding quality and reasonably priced. This is every bit as good as the Go-Pros that are far more pricey.
Question: What kind of cd does it go in the camcorder
Answer: No, does well in low light without it

Product description

Easy shooting and viewing. When it comes to shooting videos, simpler is better. Flip a single switch to start recording. When you're done shooting, you can view your pictures right away on a DVD player. Whether you're recording a special event or just taking a few casual shots, the DVD Palmcorder camcorder is perfect for people who like to take it easy when they're taking videos.

VDR-D230 Highlights

Multi-Format Recording

DVD-RAM, DVD-RW, DVD-R DL, DVD-R compatible You can choose whichever type of disc works best with your DVD player or recorder. Plus, other features make for easy shooting and viewing:

Quick, easy operation The DVD camcorder automatically fi nds a blank section on the disc for recording. The index screen makes it easy to search for a particular scene. You can view, delete and edit quickly and easily.

Easy, direct networking When you finish shooting, just take the disc from your DVD camcorder and slip it right into your DVD player or recorder. There's no need to connect any cables and you can start viewing right away.

High-Quality Pictures

O.I.S. (Optical Image Stabilizer) Panasonic's O.I.S. minimizes the hand-shake that can be such a problem with handheld shots. Because Panasonic's system is optical, there is no image quality degradation.

Pure Color Engine The Pure Color Engine converts the CCD output signal from a complementary color signal into an RGB signal at an early stage and extracts the low-frequency luminance component from the RGB signal. This innovative engine also achieves truly superb color reproduction for high-zoomed pictures.

MPEG2 engine Panasonic's MPEG2 engine is a wide-range, highprecision engine that produces smooth, beautiful moving pictures. Because it precisely records the differences in each frame, it can render fast, complex motions with exceptional precision. The MPEG2 engine also uses the Variable Bit Rate system that Panasonic adopted for the high-end DIGA DVD recorder. Giving LP (long play mode) recordings nearly twice the resolution captured with previous Panasonic MPEG2 recording video cameras, this lets the DVD camcorder record clear, smoothly flowing pictures.

32x optical zoom This 32x zoom can fill the screen with even a distant subject. This lens is not only the powerful zoom offered in a home-use digital camcorder, it also features low distortion. And because it's optical, there is no quality loss -- you get the images in all their natural beauty.

Ease and Versatility

Large 2.7-inch widescreen LCD The large, 2.7-inch LCD monitor displays bright, clear images. You can see even tiny details. It's more fun to shoot and view images on a wide monitor, and it's easier to picture just how the images will look on a TV screen.

One-Touch Navigation for easy, intuitive setting and shooting With One-Touch Navigation, just press the center of the joystick to display an operating menu. The operations you use most often are right on the monitor, so it's easy to change settings or operate the camera without looking away from your subject.

Mode dial Just turn the dial and you're ready to shoot or to view the images afterward. Just rotate the dial with your fingertip to select the icon that corresponds to the mode you want.

Trilingual menu The menu can be displayed in any of the following three languages. You can switch it to view all menus in the language you prefer for easy, comfortable operation.

Capture crisp, vivid images, even in low lighting, with MagicPix Leave the light off. MagicPix gives you images with color even in dim lighting (1 lux). Light is gentle and easy on the eyes, so you can snap shots of sleeping children without waking them up.

Soft Skin mode When this function detects skin tones, it softens the focus in that area. This has a skin beautifying effect, which makes wrinkles and lines appear less noticeable. When turned on, this function makes blemishes and moles look less conspicuous, while preserving resolution in areas of the picture outside of the skin.

Instant LCD/EVF saves battery life When you open the LCD, the power switches on. Shut it and the power goes off. Pull out the viewfinder and the power switches on. Store it and the power goes off. Instant LCD/EVF reduces the time required for operating the camera.

Networking

USB 2.0 (HS Mode) and Video Class compatibility USB 2.0 compatibility lets you upload DV data to a PC at high-speed over a single USB cable. Video Class compatibility allows real-time transfer of DV moving picture data over the same USB cable.

Use an SD/SDHC memory card to transfer image easily SD/SDHC memory cards are the ideal recording and storage media for today's visual communication and networking. They make it easy to instantaneously transfer image data to a PC or printer.

  • Brand New in box. The product ships with all relevant accessories

User questions & answers

Question: Where can I find instruction manual
Answer: No, it uses miniDVDs only. I have used multiple types with no problems. I would recomend the following ones: Memorex 30 min./1.4 GB Mini DVD-R 20-Pack by Memorex.
Question: Is this compatible with windows
Answer: Yes, recording at the same resolution is possible with either media, up to 1080i. I seem to recall a slightly different maximum bitrate but not the specifics and getting my hands on the manual is more trouble than I care to go to. That information is available online if you deem it important.
Question: what is the resolution for this camera
Answer: That depends on the size of the memory stick or blank disc you purchase that is compatible with the device. From as little as 2 gigs to whatever if memory serves me correctly. Pardon the pun.
Question: Can you reuse the disc
Answer: Yes you can use several media including the memory card in this camera. At night based on the bulb I got it is pretty clean up to about 5-8 feet away depending on the subject I suppose.
Question: How do you connect the microphone
Answer: Yes please!

Product description

With the affordable Canon DC100, you get all the convenience and functionality of recording and sharing your videos with DVD technology. You also get the same Canon expertise and features found on more expensive camcorders. The DC100 delivers great video and makes it easy to capture the precious moments in your life.

The DC100 digital camcorder gives you all the convenience and functionality of DVD technology. It lets you record directly to DVDs, and lets you shoot and share video through a variety of options. Only 3 inches (8 centimeters) in diameter, the DC100's DVD -R/-RW discs are compatible with most DVD players and can store up to 30 minutes of video in standard mode and 60 minutes of video in long-play mode. That's 120 minutes on a double-sided disc!

With the DC100's DVD technology, you no longer have to worry about mistakenly taping over a once-in-a-lifetime piece of footage. You simply shoot, and the DC100 ensures that you are recording onto a blank part of the DVD.

The DC100's DVD functionality also makes it possible for you to review your footage quickly and easily without the bother of rewind or fast-forward searching. With the camcorder's Visual Index, you can review your footage at a glance and play the selection you want. You can even select shots and arrange them into a playlist. It's like editing your video right in your camcorder!

What's more, the finalization process for these DVDs is quick and easy with the DC100. It's just one more reason why you'll love recording direct to DVD with your DC100.

Like all of Canon's DVD camcorders, the DC100's optical excellence and advanced features come in a sophisticated, compact design. Its slim and comfortable design makes it easy to operate, carry, or put in your coat pocket.

The DC100 records true High Resolution Widescreen for picture perfect video. Canon's Widescreen HR Mode uses the entire width of the image sensor, capturing true 16:9 widescreen.

The Canon DC100's widescreen capabilities
The Canon DC100 captures video and photos in true 16:9 widescreen,

for better picture quality on widescreen televisions.
So why is the way you record widescreen images so important? Because you want an image made for widescreen, not adapted for widescreen. Widescreen is the future--every HD television is widescreen.

The story of how we do it may be a bit technical, but the result is clear to see. Canon camcorders use the entire width of the image sensor to capture your precious video in true 16:9 format. What difference does this make? It's simple. With more pixels captured, you get better image quality. Other camcorders force the wider picture into a smaller space on the sensor--giving you a less true image, with fewer pixels and lower quality. With High Resolution recording on a Canon camcorder, the canals of Venice will be as grand as you remembered seeing them.

The Canon DC100
Get an accurate view of what you're shooting with a 2.7-inch letterbox-view LCD screen.
The viewfinder of your DC100 displays the image in a "letterbox" view--from side to side and top to bottom, what you see will be what you get. No guessing and extra work when looking at an image that's distorted like a fun-house mirror. Not only that, but the DC100's big 2.7-inch LCD screen lets you see exactly what you're recording.

The DC100 also lets you show your great Widescreen HR video on a standard television in letterbox format.

To make it even easier, a Widescreen Button lets you switch from standard 4:3 to 16:9 Widescreen Mode at the touch of your finger. The widescreen feature can also be used in both Program Mode and Easy Recording Mode, as well as with the camcorder's advanced image stabilization.

You want your memories to last forever--that's why you've taken the time to shoot them. And you want to shoot in widescreen format to get everything you can out of your new widescreen TV or home theater system. Remember--widescreen is the future--be sure you invest in that future with a Canon camcorder.

Because of genuine Canon optics, the name Canon is synonymous with unsurpassed optical performance. Brilliant optical quality is part of every Canon broadcast TV lens, 35mm film camera, digital camera, and camcorder--and the DC100 is no exception.

The Canon DC100
A high-quality, coated 25x-optical-zoom lens takes you seamlessly through a variety of shooting environments, from landscapes to parties.
The DC100 comes with a 25x optical zoom lens, precisely matched to the camcorder's CCD and featuring high-quality glass with a unique, super-spectra coating developed exclusively by Canon to reduce flare and ghosting for a clean image. Combined with the camcorder's powerful 1000x digital zoom, you get the widest range of focal lengths available in a Canon single-CCD camcorder. Whether you're recording beautiful nature panoramas, a group shot at your daughter's wedding, or close-ups at your child's birthday party, you always have the right lens.

The Canon DC100
Image stabilization helps you shoot rock-steady, professional-looking video.
The DC100's built-in, high-quality image stabilizer allows you to shoot rock-steady video--whether you're shooting sporting events, fun and games at your child's birthday party, or capturing a shot at a long focal length. It even works when you're panning and zooming. Thanks to Canon's superior electronic expertise, the DC100's image stabilization system corrects camcorder shake instantly, thereby eliminating one of the telltale signs of amateur video.

The Canon DC100
Easily connect your DC100 to a TV

for convenient image and video sharing.

DVD-R/-RW Dual Layer recording format Only 3 inches in diameter, these discs can store up to 60 minutes of video (up to 108 minutes on a dual layer disc) and are compatible with most old and new DVD players.

5-megapixel CCD image sensor Whether you’re shooting video or photos, you will benefit from the camcorder’s razor-sharp CCD image sensor. Images are captured with outstanding clarity. For rich, accurate color, the DC50 uses an RGB primary color filter. It separates light into red, green, and blue color components, resulting in vibrant images with natural-looking tones.

Genuine Canon Optics with 10x optical zoom/200x digital zoom Genuine Canon Optics ensures that video and photos are clear and rich with color and detail. Canon’s expertise in designing lenses for photography and broadcast television goes into every camcorder we make.

Super-Range Optical Image Stabilizer The DC50 features Super-Range Optical Image Stabilization (OIS). Utilizing a Hybrid detection method (combining vector and gyro detection method), the OIS corrects camera shake instantly for steady shots -- even when they're hand held, at long focal lengths, or taken with the camera in motion. And unlike electronic stabilization, which can cause a loss in image quality, the optical system corrects the shake, while preserving the quality. It is even effective while taking photos.

DIGIC DV II Image Processor DIGIC DV II is the next generation of Canon's exclusive DIGIC DV signal processing technology.. Even though video and still images have different color requirements, DIGIC DV II digital signal processing ensures optimal image quality for both video and still images. Thanks to DIGIC DV ll image processing, the DC50 produces video with improved color reproduction -- especially in skin tones, and dark and light scenes. It also uses a hybrid noise reduction system that employs two types of noise reduction -- for images that are crystal clear.

Quick Start Instead of powering off your camcorder between shots, simply press the Quick Start button to put the camcorder in stand-by mode. Quick Start considerably reduces the power consumption of the battery and allows the user to return to recording mode in approximately .9 seconds, so you’ll never have to miss another special moment.

Widescreen HR The DC50 records true widescreen for picture perfect video. Canon’s image processing system uses the entire width of the image sensor, capturing a big picture in true 16:9 widescreen so no one and nothing is left unseen. And Canon camcorders take advantage of more pixels to give you amazing quality.

2.7-inch widescreen LCD A 2.7-inch widescreen LCD and .27-inch widescreen viewfinder lets you see exactly what your camcorder is recording, and what your TV will display later.

Joystick The joystick makes using the camcorder easier than ever. Extra buttons have been eliminated, allowing you to control playback, focusing, exposure, and menu options from one convenient place.

Lower power consumption The DC50 consumes less battery power giving you longer operation time.

Super-Range Optical Image Stabilization Shoot rock-steady video even when you’re at maximum telephoto without a tripod. It is even effective while shooting photos.

Smooth zoom control Want to shoot like the pros? Three fixed zoom speeds allow you to produce smooth video that will be enjoyable for everyone to watch.

Level shot control Even if you are first camcorder user, you’ll never have to worry about shooting crooked video. A horizontal marker and center indicator always keeps you on track.

Grid display It's easy to compose your shots for more professional looking video. The Grid marker is very convenient for setting up the special balance in your shots. Since background colors vary, you can select from two line colors to make the lines easily visible.
