Answer:	It is really shame that Chamberlain myQ decided to NOT support SmartThings. After their announcement to support it (which was if I remember 2015 or 2016), I actually switched all of the garage openers to be myQ compatible... which ended in major disappointment because they never got out the integration. There was a manual integration that a SmartThings user did, but even this one is now defunct.
Question:	Why does chamberlain charge a fee when the other devices are free
Answer:	This is a shame and Chamberlain should be embarrassed. It's pathetic. I would rather pay $10-20 more to never pay a subscription fee as long as I own the device. Aonthly or annual fee is just sickening and it's the singular reason why I have not purchased this product. Everything I own is Chamberlain. By including a fee, they have completely ALIENATED A LOYAL CUSTOMER. Am I also understanding this correctly that Alexa does not have a subscription fee for integration?

Answer:	Things got worse when I attempted to program the remote using the same method I had used to program the original. I pushed the purple "learn" button on my opener, held down the button on the new remote, and nothing happened. Frustrated, I unpacked the directions (I know, it's my fault for not reading them first). This new remote has a button, labeled "PROG", on the back underneath the metal clip. You have to press this button and then click the desired button on the front 1-3 times (depending on the color of your learn button) to setup the remote. Once this is done, you press the learn button on the opener and then the desired button on the remote and you're all set. It's pretty easy (if you read the directions). It took about 10 minutes to do the whole thing, although it would have been less than five if I had read the instructions first.

You can also bypass the internal thermostat very easily (search the web) and if desired, remove the knob altogether—replacing it with a cadet plug to cover the hole.
