13 best racquetball balls
Racquetball balls are specialized sports balls designed for use in the sport of racquetball. They play a central role in the game, as they are the object of play and are essential for the dynamics of the sport. Here's what you should know about racquetball balls:
Size and Weight:
- Racquetball balls are small and lightweight. They are typically about 2.25 inches (57mm) in diameter and weigh between 1.4 to 1.6 ounces (40 to 45 grams).
Material:
- Racquetball balls are made of rubber. This rubber composition gives them the necessary bounce and resilience for gameplay. The rubber used is typically formulated to provide a consistent bounce and durability.
Color:
- The standard color for racquetball balls is blue. However, they are also available in other colors, such as green and red. The choice of color is often a matter of personal preference, but blue is the most commonly used color in official matches.
Bounce Characteristics:
- Racquetball balls are designed to have a high bounce. The rubber composition allows them to rebound off the walls, floor, and racquets effectively, adding an element of strategy and unpredictability to the game.
Speed Ratings:
- Racquetball balls come in different speed ratings, typically categorized as "fast," "medium," or "slow." The speed rating refers to how the ball performs in terms of bounce and how it reacts to different playing conditions.Players may choose a speed rating based on their skill level and playing style.
Durability:
- The durability of a racquetball ball is important because these balls can experience significant wear and tear during gameplay. Quality racquetball balls are designed to withstand repeated impacts with racquets and walls without easily losing their shape or bounce.
Indoor and Outdoor Play:
- Racquetball is primarily an indoor sport, and most racquetball balls are designed for indoor play. Outdoor racquetball balls may also be available for those who wish to play the sport in an outdoor setting.
Regulations:
- Racquetball balls used in official matches must meet specific regulations set by organizations such as the International Racquetball Federation (IRF) and the United States Racquetball Association (USRA). These regulations specify size, weight, bounce characteristics, and color standards.
Replacement:
- Racquetball balls can wear out over time, losing their bounce and becoming scuffed or damaged. Players often replace balls periodically to maintain the quality of play.
Storage:
- Proper storage of racquetball balls is essential to maintain their performance. Storing them in a cool, dry place and avoiding exposure to extreme temperatures or direct sunlight can help prolong their lifespan.
In summary, racquetball balls are specialized sports balls made of rubber, designed for use in the sport of racquetball. They are available in various colors and speed ratings to suit players' preferences and playing conditions. Their bounce characteristics and durability are key factors that contribute to the enjoyment of the game.

User questions & answers
Question: | how was the speed of this ball compare with blue one |
Answer: | This ball is VERY slow. The color is a novelty and the ball is (in my opinion) not as much fun as others. |
Question: | What is the diameter of the balls |
Answer: | 2.25” |
Question: | Are these good for dogs playing fetch |
Answer: | I have a Jack Russell who chews through everything, but loves fetch. These balls are perfect for him! They could obviously be a chocking hazard for a large dog, but they’re the perfect size for him and so far, he’s not managed to tear it in to pieces! |
Question: | Not familiar with a racquetball, are they hard? (looking to use instead of tennis ball for rolling muscles |
Answer: | They are not hard, they are about the same "squishyness" as a tennis ball with a alot more grip. I use them for rolling my muscles a lacrosse ball is too much or not grippy enough. These are perfect for rolling out your forearms, ankles, back of you neck, and jaw muscles. |

User questions & answers
Question: | about how much rebound % do they have from a 3-4 foot drop I'm looking to get some for bounce juggling? Ideally they would need like 75% rebound |
Answer: | I purchased them for my granddaughter to play wth. I have no reason to think that they would be any less durable than standard racquetballs, and they are brightly enough colored so visibility should not be an issue. But I have not played racquetball with them. I had to give up the game years ago due to arthritis. So it is presumptions. |
Question: | Are these hollow inside? How well do they bounce? Are they better for dogs fetching than for humans playing handball? Thanks |
Answer: | I am not sure. I will see if i have 1 of the containers and read it |
Question: | Are these supposed to be a solid color? Just orded them and I got the rainbow spiraled colors |
Answer: | This is a tube of 3 racquetballs |
Question: | Do these float for fetch in the water |
Answer: | Yes, package include 10pcs. |
