Answer:	Yes, they are regular ice skates. Very good for beginner.

Answer:	There is a button that you press on the lower outside of each skate which unlocks/loosens the skate. You push/pull the toe of the boot with 1 hand while grasping the heel of the boot with your other hand to slide and adjust the boot to your preferred size. Answer:	The boot of skate adjusts. Not sure about padding. My granddaughter has them and we have adjusted them to her size each year she is now a 5 but was using them for the last 2-3 yrs without an issue padding is very thick and warm

Just remember you HAVE to break in skates no matter what brand. Small discomforts at the beginning are fine, but if it lasts longer than a few weeks the size isn’t right.

Answer:	I played a lot of hockey and these are hockey blades. There is no toe pick. The boot is softer than other hockey skates and I would not want to get hit with a stick or hard shot with these skates. The blades do not appear to be replaceable like you find on many hockey skates. I bought these to skate comfortably, not to play hockey. The velcro strap make it easier to tighten the skates, but you still need to pull the laces tight. So far, I am pleased with the skates.

Answer:	The rule of thumb is 1.5 sizes smaller than your shoe size. However I did just that and these skates were way to small. Had to return them. I went to Dicks Sporting goods, tried on a few different sizes and ended up getting a size exactly to what I wear in shoes.
