13 best pitchers gloves
Pitcher's gloves, also known as infielder's mitts, are specialized baseball gloves designed for pitchers. These gloves have distinct features that set them apart from other types of baseball gloves, and they are an essential piece of equipment for pitchers. Here's what you need to know about pitcher's gloves:
Size: Pitcher's gloves are typically smaller than outfielder's gloves but larger than gloves used by infielders. They are designed to strike a balance between fielding ground balls and catching line drives and pop-ups.
Webbing: The webbing on a pitcher's glove varies but is often a closed web design. Closed webbing helps conceal the pitcher's grip on the baseball, preventing the batter from getting clues about the pitch's type or speed.
Pocket Depth: Pitcher's gloves usually have a deeper pocket compared to infielder's gloves. This pocket depth allows pitchers to securely hold the ball before delivering a pitch and helps hide their grip.
Material: These gloves are typically made of high-quality leather to provide durability and a comfortable fit. Pitchers often prefer a well-broken-in glove that molds to their hand over time.
Pitcher-Specific Design: Pitcher's gloves are designed with the needs of pitchers in mind. They offer a good balance between flexibility and support, allowing the pitcher to make quick reactions and field balls effectively.
Thumb and Finger Padding: Pitcher's gloves may have additional padding on the thumb and index finger areas to protect against line drives or come-backers hit with high velocity.
Sizing: Like other baseball gloves, pitcher's gloves come in various sizes to accommodate different hand sizes and preferences. A well-fitting glove is crucial for comfort and control.
Break-In Process: Many pitchers prefer to break in their gloves in a specific way to achieve the desired feel and pocket shape. This may involve oiling, shaping, and repeatedly using the glove to break it in.
Maintenance: Proper care and maintenance of a pitcher's glove are essential for its longevity. Regular cleaning, conditioning, and storing the glove in a cool, dry place can help maintain its performance.
Customization: Some pitchers opt for custom-made gloves, allowing them to personalize the glove's size, materials, and other features to suit their preferences.
In summary, a pitcher's glove is a specialized piece of equipment designed for baseball pitchers. It features a unique design with closed webbing, a deeper pocket, and specific padding to accommodate the needs of pitchers while on the mound. Finding the right pitcher's glove that offers a comfortable fit and suits a pitcher's style is crucial for success on the baseball field.

STEP 1: SELECTING LEATHER
To make the game's best ball gloves, you need premium leather. Our Pro Stock and Pro Stock Select Leather comes from the most consistent and high-quality hides in the world, giving you a durable glove with great feel and a perfect break-in.
STEP 2: CUT LEATHER
Our craftsmen place the cutting die into the leather and use a hand-operated machine to cut all the pieces that will ultimately come together as a ball glove. The position and direction of each cut is a crucial part of the process.
STEP 3 & 4: HOLE PUNCHING & STAMPING
HOLE PUNCHING: Check and double-check. We ensure each and every hole punched in the leather is clear for the next steps in the process, namely the lacing of the glove. This also helps prevent creases in the leather, giving the finished product a smooth palm.
STEP 5 & 6: EMBROIDERY & STITCHING
All embroidery actually happens before the glove is assembled – because the only way to embroider leather is when it’s flat and fits easily into the sewing machine.
Our craftsmen then start stitching the glove – and do so inside out, assembling the various pieces of leather that were cut out in Step 2.
STEP 7, 8 & 9: TURNING, LACE MAKING & GLOVE LACING
TURNING: Here, all our gloves are turned back right side out and craftsman begin to shape them using hand-shaped hot irons and rods. The lining is also inserted into the shell right after this point.
LACE MAKING: At this stage, we cut thin high-quality strips of leather tanned specifically for baseball glove laces. We use these thinner strips because if lacing is too thick, it impacts how well the glove opens and closes.
GLOVE LACING: You guessed it. This is where the magic happens and everyone’s hard work starts to come together in the form of a
STEP 10: POUNDING & SHAPING
Before final inspection, our craftsmen focus on shaping the glove so when you receive your new gamer, it’s already got the great Wilson shape you’ve come to love.

TO MY FELLOW GLOVEHEADS"
As a glovesmith who has dedicated over 40 years of my life to making gloves, when I ask myself the question 'what is the most important thing when it comes to glove patterns?' I still cannot answer it.
Of course the glove has evolved due to changing demands of the game, but those demands have always been made by the players. Because modern players are not just better, faster and stronger but also smarter, they have many different and sensitive requirements which makes it difficult to find a simple answer to the question.
In making the Pro-1, I focused most on making the glove feel as natural as possible, as if my own hand were catching it. Thus the glove allows the entire hand from fingers to palm to comfortably feel and grasp the pocket. Preserving the feeling of the entire hand wrapping around the ball is crucial to game performance and this idea was essential in developing the Pro-1 pattern.
Also focused on alleviate the problem when the palm face protrudes upwards and eliminates the pocket causing the ball more difficult to catch on grasping motion.
I hope that by using the Pro-1 pattern, you will see and feel this glovesmith's philosophy of patterns.

User questions & answers
Question: | Is the lining where your hand rest made of leather |
Answer: | Well, as there's only one sub output, you would have to split that output to drive more than one sub. Whether or not this would really work is up to question. It seems that if you have a decent sub, one should be more than sufficient.Mine is about 100 watts and will drive me out of the room at high volumes.I'll be interested in knowing if you try it and how it works. Good Luck! |

User questions & answers
Question: | Is the logo and trim gold or cream on the prime glove |
Answer: | This glove has a 90% factory break-in, requiring only 10% break-in by the player. It does not need to be steamed. |
Question: | Are there reviews for the catcher's mitt? None of the images for these reviews are catcher's mitt |
Answer: | Youth size is not the same as an adult size. You have to pick if you need right or left size but both are not coming together. I will recommend you to ask a sport expert or try the different sizes at the sport store. My brother is 9 years old and he is using 11.5 youth size. Probably this size is going to be too small for your son. |
Question: | I just ordered this glove, is it for a left handed thrower or right handed thrower |
Answer: | If he throws with his right hand then in this instance buy a right hand glove. |
Question: | When they ask right or left hand orientation are they asking which hand the glove goes on or if the player is right or left handed |
Answer: | It says right hand orientation. This glove will go on the left hand for the right handed thrower |
