14 best dewormer for goats

DeWormer for goats is a crucial aspect of their healthcare and is vital to maintaining the well-being and health of the animals. Dewormers, also known as anthelmintics, are medications specifically formulated to eliminate internal parasites or worms from the digestive tract of goats and other livestock.

  1. Types of Worms in Goats: Common internal parasites in goats that dewormers target include gastrointestinal worms like roundworms, tapeworms, stomach worms, and lungworms. The choice of dewormer often depends on the types of worms prevalent in the region and the specific needs of the goats.

  2. Dewormer Formulations: DeWalt offers various forms of dewormers for goats, including:

    • Oral Dewormers: These are administered orally and are available in liquid, paste, or pellet forms. Oral dewormers are often convenient for individual dosing.
    • Injectable Dewormers: Some dewormers are injectable, providing a different mode of administration. They can be useful for specific cases or when oral administration is not possible.
  3. Ingredients and Effectiveness: DeWalt dewormers typically contain active ingredients that effectively target and eliminate a broad spectrum of internal parasites. These ingredients are chosen for their potency and safety in eradicating various types of worms in goats.

  4. Dosage and Administration: The dosage and administration of dewormers depend on factors such as the weight of the goat, the specific dewormer used, and the severity of the worm infestation. It is essential to follow the manufacturer's guidelines and consult a veterinarian to determine the appropriate dosage and frequency of administration.

  5. Prevention and Routine Treatment: Routine deworming is an essential part of goat health management. Preventative deworming helps in controlling the worm burden in the herd, reducing the risk of health issues and ensuring optimal growth and productivity.

  6. Consultation with Veterinarians: It is advisable for goat owners to consult veterinarians for guidance on the choice of dewormer, appropriate dosages, and the best deworming schedule based on the specific needs of their goats and the region they are located in.

Proper deworming and healthcare are fundamental to maintaining the health and productivity of goats, especially those involved in equestrian sports or other livestock-related activities. Implementing an effective deworming program is vital in promoting the overall well-being of goats and ensuring their continued performance and vitality.

  • Power source type: Wood Pellet

User questions & answers

Question: do you have to dispose of milk after using this dewormer
Answer: It actually says approved by the FDA on the back of the bottle. Does that mean approved by but not regulated and therefor tamper evident seals are not required? This makes me uneasy in giving it to my dog, which was recommended by a vet.
Question: How do I use this product
Answer: Fenbendazole is the only active ingredient in Safeguard for goats, or Safeguard for horses, or Safeguard for cattle, or for that matter, any made by Durvet carrying the name Safeguard. The other ingredients are inert ingredients to cut the Fenbendazole to 10% by volume making it easier to measure and administer. It is something like glycol which is used to cut it and suspend the particles.I have been using Fenbendazole for years in my dog kennels. It is a very safe effective easy to use wormer for most kinds of animals, and that includes humans. And is what my own doctor prescribed for me when I had a problem. Although it did not say Safeguard, it was the same thing.
Question: How many goats will three pounds treat
Answer: It is the same active ingredient @ Panacure BUT @ less than half the strength. First calculate dosage based on weight. Meaning convert dose from equine, bovine or goat chart to dog/cat. Then for dogs give twice that amount since Panacure is 22% and chattel formula is 10%. E.G. My dog based on goat formula weight chart needs 2.3 mg, but since the goat liquid suspension (and all the formulas paste etc) is 10% I doubled that to 4.6 and was happy with 4.5 mg. If u only do the weight conversion without doubling the dose, you are under treating the condition. For something like Hookworm this can be devastating.
Question: Is this item easy to use
Answer: I use it for cats the dosage is different. it does not kill tapes. can be used for 10 days for treatment of giardia. See link for worming dosage. Here is dosage: each kg equals 2.2 lb. weigh the cat before administering. talk with your vet about the dosage you intend to give. http://www.msd-animal-health.co.uk/Products_Public/Panacur_10__Liquid/090_Product_Datasheet.aspxDO NOT USE THE DOSAGES LISTED IN THIS REPORT -- THIS IS JUST SO YOU CAN SEE IT IS SAFE: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/10714528

User questions & answers

Question: Is this the exact same product as the goat 125ml de wormer
Answer: I don't beleive there is a warranty on these. I'm disgusted with the fact that it does not fill proper, leaks nout the entire content when hung and only is very confusing to get the lid placed correctly even though it has what are to be two openings for refilling the tray for chickens!! Don't purchase this product! If need a cheap one, only purchase the 1 gallon or the 1 1/2 gallon size. At least it can be hung, refills as it should and lid isn't a puzzle piece. I have now this week, went to a hanging, galvanized 5 gallon waterer that is covered and hangs. No issues!! Wasted my money x3 on these plastic ones because the lids have to slide into a joint and they eventually get brittle and break. Cheaper isn't bettter in this arena. I should've opted to just spend the $40 on galavanized the first time. Good Luck : )
Question: Is this the same as panacur? we are a huge cat rescue and panacur is rx only and if the same, it would be a godsend
Answer: I'm not sure but it doesn't dispense water properly. Stopped using it after my birds were going without water and a full waterer just sitting there not doing it's job.
Question: does this kill tapeworms
Answer: The plastic is pretty durable, but it’s all plastic and would definitely melt if heat on a heater.
Question: Is this the 1000 ml size? under product description it says 2.6 oz. but that cannot be right
Answer: It wasn't advertised as BPA free. This watered is the most cumbersome thing I have ever used. You have to get it on just right, took me multiple times to get it right. Either water wasn't able to come out or the water just poured out. I finally got rid of it.

User questions & answers

Question: Is this 99% pure
Answer: No, you don't. That is one of the reasons I chose this wormer.
Question: Is this same as cydectin
Answer: just feed it to the goats. I like to do it separately but you can mix it with their fed. I use to just put it in a trough but now I give it individually to each animal. It will depend on the number of animals and your feeding system.
Question: I have not got this yet. How much would you use to treat a 5 gallon fish tank for worms? I saw 5 g for 100 gallons... but I’m not good math
Answer: Depends on the weight of the goat. It will treat 12 50# goats. 6 100# goats etc. Directions are on the bag.
Question: How should I dose this for camillanus worms in aquarium
Answer: Yes, it is very easy to use Erin. The wormer comes with a handy measuring scoop and you give one full scoop per 50 lbs. So if the goat weighs 100 lbs. feed it 2 full scoops. The goats LOVE this stuff and eat it right up.

User questions & answers

Question: Is this .08% Ivermectin or .8% ? The details of the product say .8% but I am making sure this isn't a typo
Answer: I wouldn't recommend it. This contains added copper, and for copper sensitive species like sheep, you could very easily give them copper poisoning.
Question: What is the expiration date on the current lots being sold in
Answer: "Feed at the rate of 1 lb per 100 lbs of body weight as a single feeding." are the directions on the package. So, 25 pounds of the dewormer is 2500 pounds of goats that can be treated with a bag.
Question: Where can I find a dropper to measure in .1ml increments? Everything I see is .5ml and above
Answer: Goodluck. That is a crapshoot..
Question: So one ml of the product contains how many mcg of ivermectin? Just trying to double check my math. THANKS
Answer: This is what is listed by the manufacture: "Manna Pro Positive Pellet Goat Dewormer eliminates the three major gastrointestinal parasites commonly found in goats. This dewormer effectively removes and controls Mature Gastrointestinal Nematode Infections on goats such as Circumcincta, Trichostrongylus Axei, Ostertagia (Teladorsagia), and Haemonchus Contortus."

User questions & answers

Question: Two packages for over 100.00???WHY
Answer: Yes
Question: Did anyone else have a chunk of wood from a door frame looks like in their bag when they opened it
Answer: Not sure we are in South Mississippi and use it for our goats since the goats here have a tolerance for the wormer sold in the local feed store. We find this very effective against parasites and barber worms with our herd
Question: Can these product be used on goats
Answer: I used 3/4 of a teaspoon for 40 gallons every 3 days for 2 weeks and it cleared the worms and broke the cycle. For a 5 gallon tank that would be less then 1/8 of a teaspoon. Make sure you do daily water changes so it filters out the dead worms and keeps the meds from building up too much.
Question: Will this work on chickens
Answer: 2ppm concentration per Fish Vet, https://www.loaches.com/Members/shari2/levamisole-hydrochloride-1
