Question: does this case normally come with a cue shaft blank in one of the sleeves? mine had a tipped shaft with no threaded hole
Answer: I got mine 3 years ago. If memory serves me right, I got a blank shaft in mine as well. This makes no sense because it holds many shafts, so one will not make it hold its shape or anything. I don't know why they do this.

Answer: Yes a 30 inch shaft with a protector will fit inside the case. You will just have to adjust the inside flap that goes down over the shafts.
Question: Is the product description correct? It says the case is 20" long so how does a 30" cue fit in it
Answer: The description has to be wrong. Cues are 58-59 inches. Broken down they are nearly 30 inches. especially the end with the screw. There is no such thing as a 20inch cue case, Lucasi or any other.
Question: What is the width of this case when closed
Answer: It is about 5.5 inches, but opens out to more than 11 inches, with 4 pockets to hold 4 butts and 8 shafts. The lengthwise zipper is a pain to use. I miss being able to unzip the top and being able to pull out butts and shafts straight out. With this case you need plenty of room to lay the case down on a table or chairs and then even more room to extract your cues. A problem in a fairly crowded area. But it was a good value for the price.

Answer: The top is dishwasher safe entirely. It even has a dishwasher mode for the top, where the inside latch gets released so it can get cleaned more fully. The bottom piece says to hand wash but I put it in the dishwasher and it was fine. I think they are guarding against the paint washing off or rusting, especially if you get it customized. That's just a guess. I've always been liberal with using the dishwasher. Top rack I think everything will be fine.
