Question:	How is this system better or worse than something like a lead sled
Answer:	Yes. It is sand or sand like. It's nice and heavy and will mold to your rifle or hand, when shooting a pistol or revolver.I think you can buy them with out the filling to save on shipping.At the range I take 6 x 1 blocks of wood to make it higher, if necessary. I cut mine about 12" long.It's a great product. Make sure you look at all the Caldwell products before making you decision.Their range sled is also very nice. Also, go to the range and see what other shooters are using.Good luck & good shooting.

Answer:	The ones I had were filled with ground corncob they got wet in the tower stands ruined them They mildewed & got hard as Brick had to throw them away The ones I have with sand in them are several years old and still perfect. Sand is my choice for a shooting bag !

what is the single strap only attached on one side used for

I use my rest when sighting in my shotgun with slugs. It’s a nice solid rest to aid in patterning a shotgun as well. I even use mine when sighting in a handgun, rest my arm in the Tack Driver bag, rest my hand on a regular bag and you get a nice solid rest for those of us who hunt with a handgun and want to set the sights. I’ve even seen people use these to help sight in a crossbow, having a sturdy, comfortable rest when sighting in, or practice, helps with confidence in the field
