13 best utg monopods

UTG monopods are firearm accessories designed to provide stability and support to shooters, particularly in situations where a stable shooting platform is essential. These monopods are often used by hunters, precision shooters, and sports shooters to improve accuracy and reduce fatigue during extended shooting sessions. Here are some key points about UTG monopods:

  1. Stability and Support: UTG monopods are primarily used to stabilize a firearm, helping shooters maintain a more consistent aim and reducing the effects of recoil. This stability is especially crucial for long-range shooting and precision shooting.

  2. Adjustability: Most UTG monopods are adjustable in terms of height, allowing shooters to fine-tune the support to their preferences and shooting conditions. Adjustable monopods are typically attached to the rifle's stock or buttstock, and shooters can extend or retract them as needed.

  3. Mounting Options: UTG monopods are designed to be easily attached to a variety of firearms, including rifles and shotguns. They often feature quick-detach or swivel mounts for convenient installation and removal.

  4. Materials and Construction: UTG monopods are typically made from durable materials such as aluminum or high-strength polymer to withstand the rigors of shooting. They are designed to be lightweight yet sturdy.

  5. Deployment: UTG monopods are designed for quick deployment. Shooters can extend the monopod rapidly to provide the necessary support and then retract it when not in use. This feature is particularly important when transitioning between different shooting positions.

  6. Compatibility: UTG monopods are often designed to be compatible with various firearm platforms, and they may include adapters or accessories to fit different types of rifles or stocks.

  7. Use in Shooting Sports: Competitive shooters often use UTG monopods in shooting sports such as long-range precision shooting and practical/tactical shooting competitions. The added stability can lead to improved accuracy and consistent shot placement.

  8. Hunting Applications: Hunters may also benefit from using UTG monopods when taking long-range shots or waiting for extended periods in a stationary position. The monopod's support can reduce muscle fatigue and help hunters maintain a steady aim.

  9. Maintenance and Care: Like any firearm accessory, UTG monopods require regular maintenance to ensure they function correctly. Shooters should follow the manufacturer's guidelines for cleaning and lubrication to prevent any issues with deployment or stability.

In summary, UTG monopods are firearm accessories that provide stability and support to shooters, helping them maintain accuracy and reduce fatigue during shooting activities. These monopods are adjustable, easy to mount, and compatible with various firearm platforms, making them valuable tools for both recreational shooters and hunters.

User questions & answers

Question: Will this fit a 22lr rifle and ar
Answer: that's what I bought it for, my .22lr, I haven't tried it on my ar15, but I'm sure it would fit, the ar has a thin barrel. it should work on any small caliber thin barrel.
Question: wil this work for a mosin nagant? or is the recoil to much for it
Answer: It will more likely work but not great due to the mosin doesn't have much barrel exposed to mount to. I have both this and a mosin. Though I haven't tried it. I've used this bi-pod on various rifles including a 30-06 that kicks as hard.
Question: Will this fit on a henry .22lr lever action
Answer: HOwdy, the bipod clamps on to barrels or magazine tubes that are ( .708 to .905 inches ) I think the magazine tube on the henry is smaller, might want to check.
Question: Unless I missed it I did not see how tall this bipod is, how tall is it
Answer: I found this too tall to use off a bench and pretty cheap. It is worth what you will pay for it but realize I used it once on each of my rifles to see how I would like it...then I bought a quality bipod with height adjustable legs.

User questions & answers

Question: I have a pof p-415 with a factory m-loc handguard. the bi-pod lugs are too large for the slots. what am i missing? where is the mis-match
Answer: The screws should have an oblong lug that turns and locks into the m-lock hole as you tighten the screw. You must first loosen the screws about halfway to allow them to turn and lock inside the slot. Hope that helps and good luck.
Question: Does this come with both legs or just one
Answer: Yes it is a set. I found this to be an excellent bi-pod, well made and sturdy. Two things to consider with it is that you lower and raise the legs separately so it is a little slower to deploy than a bottom rail type bi-pod. It is also does not set high enough to allow a 40 round magazine. As a positive it stores out or the way when retracted parallel to the barrel.
Question: How do you adjust for cant if you are on uneven terrain
Answer: The only was to adjust for cant with this bipod is to lengthen or shorten one of the legs. It does not swivel like a Harris, but is very easy to use and adjust. I am very happy with my Recon. HTH, Dan
Question: Are these the ones stallone used in final blood? where he sets the ambush
Answer: I’m not 100% positive. However, I can confidently say Stallone would approve.

User questions & answers

Question: How many mlok slots do you need to mount it? will it fit into two slots like on the krg bravo chassis
Answer: it fits into two (2) mlok slots per bipod side. It is very sturdy on my AR-10 and has handled several thousand rounds without needing to be tightened or adjusted since originally mounting. A great bi[od and buy for the money.
Question: Does this come with all the hardware to mount straight on
Answer: Comes with all hardware needed to mount it to a M-LOK handguard.
Question: When the bipod is not in use can i have the feet out past the muzzle and shoot it with out hurting the bipod
Answer: They will fold that way...but you will get some residue from the muzzle. You may want to move them back on the rail a little. You should be able to adjust them to the correct position while shooting prone. You could also angle them slightly downward too.
Question: Will this work if it is being removed and installed regularly without locktite. will it hold in place on an ar/ak for an hours worth of range time
Answer: I think it would but why not just use blue loctite? You'll be removing it with a tool. Just keeps it from loosening on it's own

User questions & answers

Question: what diameter is stud
Answer: I don't know the exact diameter but it's essentially like having a regular sling stud. It works well with stud-mounted bipods, sling swivels, etc. Hope that helps.
Question: What is the distance from the stud center to the end without the rails
Answer: Looks like right at 3/4” to me.
Question: Does the stud on this actually swivel or is it fixed
Answer: It really goes over the gun's own swivel stud and gives you a Piccatiny to install whatever accesories you need. In my case, a bipod. And, it let the original swivel stud's eyelet free, so you still can put your sling back.
Question: Does this replace your existing sling stud or attach to your existing sling stud
Answer: Also, you can attach a sling to this once it is mounted it then acts as a replacement stud. So in answer to your Q. Yes it replaces it and Yes it attaches to it.

User questions & answers

Question: does this bipod swivel or pan
Answer: Yes it does, the stock QD rail mount swivels approximately 10-15 degrees to right or left of center. The swivel has 2 bolts that allow tightness adjustments. A 6mm hex bolt mounts the swivel attachment/bipod legs to the QD mount and a 2mm hex bolt locks that 6mm bolt so it won't loosen. As delivered the swivel is tight and you won't notice the swivel ability unless it's mounted. When mounted though, it works fine and doesn't need to be loosened.
Question: Is there any way to buy the swivel stud kit seperate, so you can put 3-4 on different guns then just take the bipod legs to the gun you wanna shoot
Answer: That's the plan.
Question: does the bipod swivel
Answer: No the bipod does not swivel.
Question: So this one apparently is the "updated" one of the one from the same seller for $29.95. What is updated about it
Answer: The three main differences are: 1)the legs are thicker, giving it a more solid feel, 2)the thumb screw has been replaced by a nice quick-release type lever for easy attaching/removing, 3)when you extend the legs, there are notches that help you determine how far out you've pulled each leg. These notches help you be certain that each leg is extended an equal amount. This gives you a level setting/position for the two legs. These are the three main differences between the two models. Other than that, they're basically the same. Hope that helps you out.

User questions & answers

Question: Can i install this on a wood stock rifle. And is there another way to install, if you are using the sling swivel for an actual sling
Answer: You can install to any rifle even, wood stock as long as there is a railing under the front end or you can install a canon rail adapter that pinches the canon to mount the bipod on it. Voilà!
Question: Will the swivel stud adapter work with the agm mk96? i am new to airsoft. thank you for any answers
Answer: I would think so, if not I know you can buy an adapter that has a pica tinny rail and a sling stud that should work. I hat to do this same thing on my Mauser.
Question: Can you use a 30 round mag on an AR15 and still have enough clearance
Answer: Yes, one reason is because the legs fold up towards the muzzle not back towards the mag. I used this on a Carbine length M&P 15 sport with no issues in clearing and using 30 round mags while shooting with the bi-pod attached. Also the legs do extend out for added length if needed.
Question: Does this bipod mount directly onto the steel swivel screw? Do i need any other extra attachments
Answer: This bipod mounts directly to the rail. No attachments are needed. I would not recommend this bipod for the 7.62x39. It will not stand up to the caliber. The legs on one of the bipod would tend to get loose and cause the weapon to become uneven

User questions & answers

Question: Does it give you a stud to connect a sling
Answer: I mounted the bipod on a rail, and there was no sling attachment on it. I bought a sling attachment that slides on the rail and snubs up close to the base of the bipod. That works well for me.
Question: will it fit on a remingtin
Answer: I don't have a 770 but this will fit any picatinny rail. It also comes with a pic rail attachment that mounts to your gun just like a normal bipod mount. By that i mean to the sling post, adding a picatinny rail to your rifle. Hope this helps
Question: Will this work on a Ruger AR
Answer: As long as you have a rail on the hand guard it will work. Have one on my Ar-15 and one on my Savage FCP-SR 308.
Question: Can you still mount the sling if you utalize the sling mount to mount to mount the bipod
Answer: Yes

User questions & answers

Question: I just received the shooting stick but didnt come with gun rest
Answer: The lightly padded "V" at the top of the stick is the only rest that came with the one I ordered. If it doesn't appear exactly as one in the picture, you may have an issue.
Question: Is it sturdy enough to be used as a walking stick as well
Answer: Nope. I tried, even though I knew it wasn't sturdy enough, and it bent in half. Get a Primos Trigger stick, or similar if you need a walking stick as well.
Question: can you unscrew the mount on the top of the stick? Or is it permanently fastened
Answer: Yes, you can unscrew the "V" yoke. After removal a screw is exposed that you can mount a camera or spotting scope on. Hope that helps!
Question: Can a crossbow be used with this stick
Answer: Don’t see why not

User questions & answers

Question: Does this bipod actually pan or not
Answer: As the description says, it pans 15 degrees. So, yes but not much. You need to be pretty much on target and the slight amount of pan will let you fine tune your aim. I will say, though, that for what I use it for, I really like this bipod. Sturdy, legs can fold either forward or back, and with no leg retaining springs, it's very low profile and just looks good.
Question: Can the quick detach lever lock be tightened down? When the lever is all the way in it's tightest position it still has significant play
Answer: Yes, you will have to tighten the screw with an allen wrench on the lever. You might have to play with the adjustment some to get it to your liking because I had the same issue. Once you get it where you like it i would suggest backing out the screw and count the number of rotations and re-install it with a little blue locktite to prevent it from backing out over time.
Question: Does this work on a Anderson manufacturing AR
Answer: It will work with any standard 1913 Picatinny Rail.
Question: i have a ar556 ..How much of the pic does this use? I m concerned as I purchased a bipod but my hand does not fit comfortably behind the bipod
Answer: Just under 1 1/4". 3 grooves. 4 "high spots" between grooves. I have a vertical grip behind mine with room to spare. If I didn't have the vertical grip, there would be plenty of room for my hand. I prefer the vertical grip over grabbing onto picatinny rail, which is a little hard on the hand, in my opinion. You shouldn't have any issues. I really like this bipod.

User questions & answers

Question: Is swivel stud mount included with the bipod or i need to purchase one
Answer: This will mount directly to any picitiny rail, or also includes an adapter to mount on any traditional rifle that has a sling stud already installed.
Question: Has anyone else noticed with the QD tightened all the way it could use to be a bit more snug? I wish it had an allen screw
Answer: I was able to adjust the fit on my rail with the set screw in on the QD pin. I switch this on several of my rails and it fits them all exactly the same after I adjusted it. Maybe your rail is out of spec. I can adjust mine so far that it cannot lock and I have to back it off to get the lever closed. Check to see if your set screw missing. Shimming the taper is always an option if all else fails, but it should not be needed. I am using mine directly on a rail and not using the sling stud adapter.
Question: Can you mount this backwards, so that the legs fold forward instead of backwards. I have a Magpul angled grip that is competing for space
Answer: The bipod can be mounted either way. However, when the bipod is folded there is only 1" of space between the legs. If your fore grip is 1" wide or less the bipod will fold horizontally flat towards the receiver.
Question: what are the dimentions
Answer: I have model TL - BP 99Q. Center ht is 8"-12.8" (Min-Max); Leg length 7.7"-13.0"(Min-Max); open angle is 50 degrees; it has a picattinny mount with swivel stud mount. The legs are lockable at your chosen height with rubber feet. Hope this helps...worth the $$$.

User questions & answers

Question: will this be strong enough for my 338 lapua
Answer: IMO, no. Your.338 Lapua is a much more substantial round than my DPMS .308, which has this on it, and I see some slight movement from time to time. I also have this on my 5.56 coyote gun. If you are using this on a bolt gun with this caliber, I believe you will be gravely disappointed.
Question: Will this be ok with a savange 110 tactical in
Answer: The Savange 110 has a 20 MOA EWG rail on it. The EWG website says: "Rail Type: One Piece Picatinny" so it be compatible. I would recommend that you contact EWG if you want additional verification.
Question: will this bipod work with 10+lbs bolt gun chambers in
Answer: Its attached on a .223 HBBL, and with a scope the whole system is more than 10 lbs and handles extremely well. Almost no recoil. I am not sure how it would do with .308 cal rifle.
Question: Will this handle the recoil of a .50 BMG rifle
Answer: It might for awile. I have a 50 bmg as well but this bipod is on a 6.5 creedmoor. My 50 bmg bipod is alot more heavy duty

Product features

UTG Heavy Duty Recon 360 Bipod

UTG's Recon 360 Bipod has a host of features that set it apart and make it an outstanding choice for almost any shooting scenario. The main feature is its ability to rotate and tilt 360°. This allows the shooter to make adjustments to their sight picture without ever having to lift and move the weapon or take their hand off the grip. To ensure that the shooter does not over-compensate any rotational or tilting action, the Recon 360 has two tension adjustment screws that allow the user to personalize the flexibility of the Recon 360 movement based on shooting needs and preferences.

Features:

The Recon 360 comes with a cantilevered base that places the bulk of the bipod offset and away from its actual Picatinny mounting location. This clever design saves valuable space on tactical rail systems and allows the bipod to sit in the least obtrusive location when not deployed.

Versatile and Multi-Applicative

The fluted leg design helps reduce weight and gives this bipod a unique character unlike any other in the industry. The legs themselves can be snapped into 5 positions with the push of a button, and positive retention is guaranteed via deep slots that have been equally spaced and kept within tight tolerance along the swivel disk.
