This collection features Tru-Sharp surgical steel and Chrome Vanadium folding blades with bone or synthetic handles.
From Our Hands To Your Pockets
For some folks, a pocketknife is like a wallet or a set of keys. They don’t leave home without one. Who knows when a rope will need cutting, a fish will need filleting or a pesky clamshell package will need opening? For the past 129 years, we’ve been proud to know our knives have earned their place in the pockets of the farmers, fishermen, hunters, ropers, and even bankers who carry them. Maybe it’s because they’re crafted in Bradford, PA.
What Makes a Case Knife Different?
- Made in Bradford, PA, USA since 1889.
- 160 steps: Each knife takes over 160 manufacturing processes to complete.
- Hand-Crafted: Every knife is hand crafted by the most skilled artisans in the business.
- Collectible.
- Premium knives.
Quality Craftsmanship is in the Details
Case's commitment to quality is evident in the many pairs of hands that it takes to create just one knife. Case knives start with carefully shaped handles made from a wide range of genuine materials like cattle bone, stag antler, buffalo horn, mother-of-pearl, exotic woods and stones. Brass, nickel, and silver components highlight each form, bringing together knives that are not just beautiful, but able to stand the tests of time and use.
Different Sizes
Our lockbacks come in three different sizes.
1) X-Small - 2.5 inches.
2) Small - 3 - 3.25 inches.
3) Medium - 3.75 inches.
Blade Options
This collection offers two different blade types; the clip blade and the drop point blade.
The clip blade is equipped for cutting and slicing in tight spots. The drop point excels at cutting and carving. These blades are both ideal for every day carry and simple chores.
Locking Mechanism
The locking mechanism locks the blade when opening blade all the way.
To return the knife in the folded position simply push the Tumbler located at the top of the handle to release the locking mechanism and close the knife.
Comfortable and Portable
The slim design is perfect for a pocket or purse.
Care Tips for Case Knives
Tru-Sharp Stainless Steel (SS) is a special high-carbon steel that helps the blades hold an edge. It also offers extraordinary blade strength and corrosion resistance.
Chrome Vanadium (CV) blades are known for their edge-holding ability and easy re-sharpening. However, they are less resistant to rusting, pitting and discoloration than stainless steel. We recommend keeping a thin film of oil on the blade to maintain the finish.
Sharpening
Blades are honed at an inclusive angle of 35° - 45° from the factory. Maintaining a constant angle, hold the blade 17° - 22° from the surface of a sharpening stone and stroke the blade as if shaving a thin layer from the stone. Repeat the stroking motion along the entire edge of the blade starting at the blade heel and working to the tip. Turn the blade over and repeat the process.
Cleaning
Using a small drop of oil, wipe down the joints, blades, and handles. The inside of knife can be cleaned with cotton-tipped swabs and wooden tooth picks. To remove any adhesive tape on your knife, apply nail polish remover or lighter fluid to a soft cloth to easily remove the residue. Rusting may occur to older knives. Rust spots on older knives should be oiled well and the knife should be allowed to sit for a few days. Carefully, scrape away the rust spot with the tip of a sharp, stiff knife.
Our Recommendation
Case Honing Oil.
This honing oil is made especially for re-sharpening knives. The main features of this honing oil are: protect the sharpening stone, carry away debris, and produce a keen edge on a metal blade such as a knife.
Durable Stainless Steel Construction
The Winchester Brass Folding Knife is the perfect amalgamation of utility and style. The Winchester 22-41324 Brass Folding Knife has a stainless steel with attractive wood overlays and polished brass bolsters. The Brass knife has timeless and old fashioned design with the Blade etched with "Winchester".
Easy to use, safe to operate
The Knife has a traditional lockback locking mechanism for added safety. When not in use, the knife is folded and locked so that you don’t get hurt. There strategically designed lanyard hole lets you hand it in a lanyard and provides freedom from carrying it in pocket.
High-Performance Steel
A highly stain resistant, value-priced steel, 4CR14 stainless steel is reasonably tough and corrosion resistant. Capable of taking a wicked, sharp edge, 4CR14 strikes a solid balance between toughness and edge retention. This budget-friendly, affordable steel is excellent for knives used sporadically, spending a good amount of time at-the-ready in a purse or suitcase.
Attractive Blade Coating
Black oxide coating is a chemical bath, or conversion coating, that converts the surface of the blade steel to magnetite. Mainly for appearance, black oxide does add some mild corrosion resistance and tends to minimize light reflection from the blade. The blackening process gives the blade an attractive, smooth, tactical, fierce black surface that is very desirable to knife owners.
Fast Deployment
Using a torsion bar to move the blade out of the handle, Kershaw’s revolutionary SpeedSafe Assisted Opening system enables smooth, secure, fast one-handed blade deployment. Apply manual pressure to the flipper or thumb stud with a light push or pull back to overcome resistance of the torsion bar, and the blade opens smoothly and locks into place for confident handling without premature closure.
Secure Locking System
With two steel plates, or liners, on the inside of each handle scale, the liner locking system safely secures the blade open and prevents unwanted blade closure. The lockbar butts up against the blade’s backend to prevent closure, and angles or is bent towards the blade tang creating a bias locked position. Apply manual force to move the lockbar to the side and fold the blade back into the handle.
One-Handed Flipper
Knives with SpeedSafe open have two options for one-handed blade deployment. To activate the smooth, instant open, user can push a thumbstud or press a flipper. The flipper on SpeedSafe assisted knives is easy to operate by both left- and right-handed users. And, once blade swings open and locks into place, flipper either disappears for aesthetics or remains visible for added finger protection.
Durable Handle
Stainless steel contains chromium to equip knife handles to withstand rusting and provide corrosion resistance. Stainless steel offers durability and is often used in combination with another material to make for an easier grip. Offering excellent durability, stainless steel knife handles often incorporate etching, patterns, ridges or lines for a less slippery grip.
Convenient Pocketclip
Kershaw designs pocketclips to fit specific knives according to their weight, intended end use, size, style and hardware. Some knives have multiple carry options, others are more streamlined. A pocketclip with tip-up carry is positioned so the closed knife carries in the pocket with the tip of its blade pointed upwards. A reversible tip-up or tip-down pocketclip allows user to change tip position.

User questions & answers
Question: | Does the thumb stud protrude on both sides of the blade so that the blade can be opened one-handed in either hand with just the thumb |
Answer: | I’d call the thumbstuds more of a blade stop than a thumbstud They do protrude from each side of the blade but they are so close to the handle that it’s difficult to employ as a thumb stud The flipper is perfect It uses their speedsafe spring system so you should be fine with just the flipper |
Question: | How strong was the handle? I've never seem "glass filled nylon" before and I was wondering if it was sturdy enough to stand up for hard duty |
Answer: | Open the hood of your car. All that black plastic? Glass filled nylon. PA66GF35. Everything is made of it. It's good stuff. Don't worry. |
Question: | how well does the blade sharpen and how long does it stay sharp under use |
Answer: | It actually sharpens very well, and quickly! 8Cr13MoV is a high-grade stainless steel that is slightly softer than, say, AUS-8 (itss most comparative steel, some say). With a good diamond sharpener, I've found that the blade sharpens fast, and stays sharp under normal/moderately extreme use, from breaking down cardboard boxes to carving sandstone (though highly possible, the latter use is not a good use for any knife). Try the Smith's PocketPal sharpener or one of Kershaw's sharpeners. Hope that helps! |
Question: | Is this knife made in the USA |
Answer: | My knife blade says 1990 KAI Patented so my understanding is that it’s made in “Japan” at least my particular knife.. Either way, a good knife is a good knife regardless of where it happened to have been made. My 2018’ VW GTI was assembled in Mexico for example but this doesn’t somehow change the fact that its regardless a very solid, well made automobile. |
