User questions & answers
Question: | Does this knife still have the secondary tip grind |
Answer: | Each TV would need its own antenna |
Question: | Can you thow a spark off of the knife |
Answer: | NO have to use the booster |
Question: | Is it full tang |
Answer: | I don't know what you are referring to as the vhf/uhf port. The antenna input on most modern TV's is a coax cable input. Plug the antenna with or without the amplifier into this port and run the scan. If you use the amplifier it needs to be plugged into an active USB port on the tv or plugged into the supplied transformer for power. Using the amplifier is an option but may not be needed. The instructions are pretty clear. Are you sure you are running the scan on broadcast channels? |

User questions & answers
Question: | If you had to pick one for good solid bushcraft work, which one, condor bushlore, basic bushcraft 5in, or rodan and why |
Answer: | As a former wilderness survival instructor for the Alaska State Troopers, I've used many different knives out in the bush. I love the Condor Bushlore. It's just the right size for most tasks, feels good in the hand, has good steel and is sturdy enough for hard use. It will do everything the $150 knives do but at less than a third of the price. If you're a knife-snob go ahead and buy an expensive one, but if you want a great knife that won't bust your bank account buy a Bushlore. |
Question: | Does it come with a sheath |
Answer: | A beautiful quality leather sheath. At this price point I don't know how they make money. BUY IT NOW! |
Question: | Question for bryan harrison- am i buying a knife or a 'spark maker'? not sure, so i need you to tell me. tia |
Answer: | It is both. I've eaten with this knife, stripped wirs with it, made fires with as fero rod, and gutted many an animals with it. This is a strong dependable knife that holds avdeçent edge and sparks pretty darn well. |
Question: | What type of grind on this knife and at what angles per side |
Answer: | I couldn't tell you about the angles. It is a double bevel grind. I can say that this knife is awesome. It can take a beating and you can sharpen it however you like. If you want to try customizing your knife by changing the profile or grind or even the scales this is a great knife to try with as it is very inexpensive but you'll still want to use it because it's a great knife/tool. Here's a cool article on types of knife grinds: http://www.sharpeningsupplies.com/Detailed-Discussion-on-Knife-Sharpening-Angles-W28C116.aspx |

User questions & answers
Question: | Can this knife work for bushcraft |
Answer: | Not at all. I've used this on a ferro rod dozens of time and it doesn't hurt the powder coat or keep you from striking a spark. |
Question: | Where are Condor knives manufactured |
Answer: | It does come with a sheath. It's brown leather and has a loop for your belt. The loop is sown in, not a snap close, so you have to feed your belt through the loop as you put on your belt. I was not expecting much of a "free leather sheath", but the leather is descent quality and the knife fits snugly in it. I was happily surprised. : ) |
Question: | Does anyone know what the Norse runes on the sheathe say |
Answer: | It is full tang, made of 1075 carbon steel. It's good for camping, and for survival I would say that's arguable. The steel will chip and damage easily, but resharpening is simple. |
Question: | Does this sheath come with the dangler belt loop in the pic or is it the old version of the sheath with the strip of leather on the side |
Answer: | The answer to that question really depends on the individual. I have both the Bushcraft and Kephart knives and they are two of my favorite knives. Simple in design, very good quality and they get the job done. Outstanding leather sheaths too. The Kephart is based on a classic design by Horace Kephart from the late 19th/early 20th century. It's a great all around small outdoor camping knife with a full flat grind, very sharp and handy to carry. The Condor Bushcraft Basic 5" knife is a bit larger. The grip is larger and thicker with a 5" blade (the Kephart has a 4.5" blade) and Scandi grind. The edge is razor-like. Both blades are of 1075 carbon steel. They are both full length and width tang with brass pinned walnut scales. I own 3 Condor knives, the Hudson Bay knife as well. All are top quality, sturdy, durable knives. It all depends on what use you intend putting them to. Sorry I can't advise you on the Bushlore as I don't own that one but judging by the Condor knives I own, it should be a quality knife. I would highly recommend either the Bushcraft 5" or the Kephart or you could do what I did and buy both. The price is right. Good luck with your decision. |
Question: | Full tang |
Answer: | My last Condor, the Bushcraft Parang, came about a year ago. It was engraved (or stamped). |
Question: | Could this be used in the swamps of florida, as well as in the pine forests |
Answer: | Durable nylon, but best machete I've ever owned! |
Question: | how thick is the blade |
Answer: | From how it feels, it would seem that they covered the bottom of the blade with this rubber to make a handle. In any event, it's on or in there good. I can not imagine how you'd seperate the metal from the handle unintentionally. |
Question: | Does the sheath have a belt loop or is it a tuck under belt |
Answer: | Nope, no difference - just vendors not using the same item number |

Answer: | Yes it does. Great all the way around work knife. |
Question: | How thick is the steel |
Answer: | No |
Question: | Would this be a good bushcraft knife? Also for field dressing small game |
Answer: | Mine was a treated handle. However, the area where the handle meets the blade is a bit too thick for pinch holding while side cutting so I removed some of the wood there. This might be something other bushcrafters might want to do. Therefore, you might want to still hold on to that oil. |
Question: | What is the blade material |
Answer: | The blade thickness is 0.125 |
Question: | Are the handles removable |
Answer: | My name is TomClupny and I purchased a knife tool a few months ago. I am not aware of any new version, The one pictured is the one I have, and find it to an excellent knife that holds an edge well. |
Question: | If the nylon part of the shealth is removed will the kydex part still hold on to knife |
Answer: | mine has closer to a full inch of wasted blade between the handle and the cutting edge. it was an on-line purchase, or i never would have considered it |
