I've caught good size game fish & catfish with it, but salt water and even small size sharks present a whole different problem, i.e. wire leaders and 30-40 lb test line. I use 20 lb test here. Answer:	This is a big reel, I use them for Trolling for salmon on the great lakes or reef fishing in the ocean. But you could cast heavy {like two, three ounce weights } with them if you adjust the spool tension knob and thumb the spool to stop any backlash, they are very smooth reels but for casting I think there are better options. again this is a big reel.

Answer:	Loud enough but I guess it depends on your hearing. This is a wonderful reel, ultra smooth drag and light weight. I have two that I use for Kokanee with 702 SST Okuma Kokanee casting model rods, an awesome combination.

Answer:	The only way to put 25 pound line would be to use "braid" ... You could probably get 125 yards of braid on it but only half that of mono. The first thing I thought when I opened the box was "dang that's a small reel" It is well made and I spooled it with braid and love it. Answer:	I use this reel to catch reds on the kenai, it works good for flipping but not as well for casting

Answer:	The prior answer is incomplete and incorrect. I prefer left hand retrieve. This reel can be FULLY set for left hand retrieve. (That's the way I use it.) It just takes about 15 minutes to flip one internal spring, pawl and ratchet. (Then flip the line guide.) It's easy and instructions are in the box.
