Personally I would look at the Plano version and compare them both so you can decide which is best for you. |

You may be able to fit things *slightly* taller in either part because of the space in the bottom of the lid, also.If you are referring to the storage compartment that's attached to the top of the lid, with the fold-up dark translucent plastic cover, that is only about an inch deep. |

| Answer: | The dividers and lids fit tightly for all but very tiny beads. Even for those, two of the trays insert horizontally, so I think you wouldn't have bead migration. Two of the trays insert vertically, though, so very tiny beads (like moccasin beads) might migrate. I use this for a fishing tackle box and have no problem with migration of hooks or swivels, some of which are quite small. |
