The spool itself doesn’t align well with the bail so it doesn’t spool evenly... so I took an aluminum spool I had from a parts reel and fixed that issue, changed the bail wire and internals and threw a spare handle I had from a lews on it and the wife seems pleased. Hopefully we get some more reliable use out of it.

Answer:	After I looked up the meaning of a bug out bag, I would say no. I think you would want more pockets. I was using this bag for trail work and it was just fine for that. I could carry a saw and loppers on the side using a chain saw protectors as pockets and a lot of small tools inside. If you do a search on the internet using "bug out bags" you will find a lot of good information.
