| Answer: | Hello friend, if you choose M1, it can be used in two ways (Single target measurement and continuous scan mode): 1) Aim at the target, then click the power button to get the target distance reading directly. 2) Aim at the target, press the power button without releasing, the rangefinder will enter the continuous scan mode. At this time, the reading of the rangefinder will change as the target changes. If you choose M2, it will be based on the nearest target recognition system for measurement. This mode has functions such as slope distance, flag lock, and vibration etc. In M2, the rangefinder (with slope) will recognize all the targets in the movement(scan time is 3 seconds), but only show the distance reading of the nearest target in the end. (The purpose is to minimize the impact of obstacles such as trees behind the flag on the measurement results). When using M2, be careful not to scan the object in front of the flag. M2 mode(operation): Press and release ( press and hold will be the same effect) the power button then scan from left to right for about 3 seconds (no need stop on the flag) and the unit will vibrate to indicate it found the closest object (not just flag) and show the distance. So just scan through the flag. But you can't scan the grass/other things in front of the flag(attention). Scanning the branches and background behind the flag has no effect.
