A powerful, engaging drumming experience
The DTX6 Series featuers the innovative KIT MODIFIER, which sparks creativity and delivers superb performance in a compact configuration.
The original Yamaha TCS (Textured Cellular Silicone) head used in the flagship models combined with real sound and ambience recorded in a world-renowned studio to provide an authentic playing experience.
The DTX6 Series is recommended for all drummers who want to have fun, play like a pro and hope to easily transfer their skills to acoustic drums.
Detailed reproduction of the drummer's performance
The DTX6 series uses a 3-zone pad for snare, crash, and ride. *The snare can be set to head, closed rim, and open rim, and the cymbal can be set to edge, bow, and cup. In addition, the cymbal pad can be choked or muted. This allows for a variety of performance techniques and lets drummers practice hitting spot where they get "that" sound with accuracy.
*DTX6K-X crash is a single zone pad
A more musical ride
The ride cymbal is compatible with the position sensing function. The high-definition long sampling cymbal sound featured in the DTX-PRO sound module is modeled in exquisite detail, and reproduced accurately when used in combination with more delicate cymbal work.
A kick that makes you want to play more
The KP90 Kick Pad features Yamaha's unique multi-layer cushion structure that offers the perfect feel with unparalleled comfort, regardless of the strength of the stroke. The 7.5-inch pad is also suitable for use with a double foot pedal and has a wide stance with large anti-slip mechanism and spurs, ensuring a stable playing surface that stays in place
Set it and forget it
The newly designed RS6 rack system* gives you the freedom to set up as needed with a robust rack that you can set and forget. The left part of the rack is designed so that the hi-hat stand and a double pedal can be set freely, allowing stress-free performance. The acoustic-look L-shaped legs further improve stability and robustness.
* Adopted for DTX6K2-X and DTX6K3-X
Everything a drummer needs
The DTX PRO comes equipped with an abundance of terminals that support a wide range of applications. The USB terminal can send and receive MIDI, and also sends and receives audio data when connected directly to a computer or smart device, allowing you to send sound directly from the DTX to DAW software or a smart device. The unit also comes with a MIDI OUT terminal, allowing you to send MIDI signals to connected MIDI devices. Up to 14 pads can be connected to the trigger input terminals that can be connected individually, making it simple to create a hybrid setup with acoustic drums by connecting only those cables you need.
An app that makes recording, editing and sharing easy

User questions & answers
Question: | Will this kick pad work with DTX 400 kit |
Answer: | If the DTX 400 has a 1/4" trigger input it will work |
Question: | Does anyone know if it is compatible with Roland TD modules? Thanks |
Answer: | I am quite sure that it will work. It has the same jack on the back to fit the pug on the TD4 or other TDs and there is one reviewer on the Amazon site that says that he has it hooked to a Roland. |
Question: | Will it keep moving if I don't screw it on the floor? I want my drum pad and bass to be movable and can be stowed away if I need extra space |
Answer: | Most acoustic bass pedals, from the least expensive to the most expensive USUALLY have some way to clamp onto the rim of a kick drum. This will look like a claw or clamp on the bottom of the bass pedal under the striker. Pedals with such a mechanism should latch on to this product. This target has two screw-pins that look like spring-loaded spikes on the far side (away from the player) so that if you have carpet, towel, or rug under your pedal area the screws can be lowered into that surface. This prevents it from moving much. This means that this is not permanently affixed to any floor or board. It should be able to be moved. |
Question: | Can this plug right into a PA channel or do you need some sort of controller |
Answer: | You can get a generic "thump" plugging straight in, but it's not very good. You'll need a controller to get any decent sounds. I picked up a used Yamaha DTXpress for $125. Well worth it. The variety of sounds is incredible, and you can add more triggers for other drum sounds. I wound up exchanging my KP65 for the silent pedal KU100. Very happy with it, but I'm a bass player, so I never knew a real bass drum pedal. |

User questions & answers
Question: | How to fix wrong drum noises being played from the kit (e.g. Hit the snare and a symbol plays, The kick plays the snare |
Answer: | The brain module has programmed sets within it programming. IF you are using the programmed songs section you will get such changes in order to play a certain style. Another possibility is that cross over is happening when a pad is hit very hard. The vibration may trigger a pad close to it. For any other problems I suggest you visit Yamaha's website or simply type in "drum crossover problems" and see if anyone else is having the problem. |
Question: | can you expand the kit to have one more cymbal |
Answer: | Yes, you can add one more cymbal! |
Question: | Does it come with a kick pedal |
Answer: | Yes it does |
Question: | Silent? I live in an apartment; learning to play a drum or kit will require being very quiet |
Answer: | Don't sweat it. I live in a very small house. I can practice while my wife sleeps in the next room. The sound is no louder than using a practice pad, even quieter. Go for it! |

User questions & answers
Question: | what is the voltage of this drum set? i will bring it to a country where it is 220V power input |
Answer: | It is 110 volts. I bought it in US and brought it to Europe. Just bought an adabter to handle 220 volts |
Question: | How big is the box it ships in |
Answer: | Memory guess only...I think there were 2 boxes, one small & one around 5'x3'x18". |
Question: | Can you upgrade yamaha dtx 450 kit with separately purchased xp80sd or xp100sd snare modules? also how is the dtx 400 brain compared to the dtx |
Answer: | The 500 brains had expandable options. The 400 series brain can handle 1 additional pad via the dtx450 bass drum pedal, but I would strongly urge you towards the 500 series in terms of expansion and customization. |
Question: | What are the advantages of the Yamaha DTX-450K kit over the Alesis DM6 USB kit, which is very similar but costs half as much as the Yamaha kit |
Answer: | I really cannot give you a complete answer. I bought the Yamaha DTX-450K to my 12yr old son. I read a lot of stuff and came to the conclusion that Yamaha is better. Which obvioulsly could be untrue. In Youtube you find some reviews and you can see the drummers in action. This Yamaha model has a 3 zone snare for rimshots, which my son sees as very important for a real drum. Not being a drummer myself, I suspect that the Alesis would be good enough for a beginner, it is just that my kid convinced me otherwise. Good luck. |

User questions & answers
Question: | If I put this on the bass drum, will it pick the whole rest of the kit? Also, since it picks those up, would it pick up other instruments as well |
Answer: | I'm not clear what you're asking, the mount plate is on one spot on a round drum, so there shouldn't be a left and right, it just rotates and you clamp it down wherever applicable. If you'd like to clarify, we'll help answer your question as best we can. |
Question: | Will there be an android app coming in the future |
Answer: | Hi, Alesis support here! Our 8" Mesh Kick Pad is designed to operate as a free-standing pad using the supplied integrated stand with adjustable spikes and 1/4" connection cable. |
Question: | Dose it come with a mounting stand and if not, how do you mount it to a stand |
Answer: | The nitro base pad is a joke. This mesh has held up well for my heavy-footed self well over a year. |
Question: | can i use extra mics in the other input ports other that the A and B port for the mic/trigger pickup sensor |
Answer: | Yes, it can if you align it right and nice and tight on the rack bar, though it will work fine and many people do it - it won't have quite the same level of - sturdy feel/push back like a pad with a floor stand. |
