"The smell originates from the non-treated organic cotton cover and will fade on its own with time. You may remove the cover, if desired, and allow both parts to air out for a few days for faster results. However, the odor will dissipate on its own. Organic Cotton is grown without the use of chemicals or solvents and organic farming methods have been specifically designed to reduce their environmental impact. They help preserve biodiversity and soil fertility, and reduce the risk of polluting groundwater." I put mine outside for a few days to air out and it really helped. I really like the shape size and feel of the bolster otherwise I would not be so patient.

I bought it for my daughter who is about 5’4” and overweight. It supports her weight quite well and is a good length. It supports her wider shoulder blades as well. I am much smaller than she is at 5’2” and 115 pounds. I found the size to be good for my smaller frame as well. In fact, I intend to order one for myself. Unless you are a good bit taller than 5’4”, I think the size is perfect.
