Question:	Would this fit in pants and short belt loops
Answer:	I tried it in a pair of pants with normal size belt loops. It was a tight fit, but I managed to get the buckle past the loops. You would only be able to put wide things in it between the loops. Small items would fit fine and maybe a phone between the loops. The pouch areas expand quite a bit for the width of a phone or wallet. I think it's doable. Hope this helps.

Answer:	Water won't ruin the belt. The fabric is water/sweat resistant but I wouldn't use it for swimming as anything inside the belt would get wet. Running, Cycling, and river crossing wouldn't be a problem. I've only used it for running and I love it.
