8 best bosu ballast balls
The Bosu Ballast Ball is a versatile fitness and balance training tool that is designed to help individuals improve their stability, core strength, and overall fitness. It is a variation of the traditional Bosu Ball, which is a half-sphere stability training device with a flat platform on one side and a dome-shaped surface on the other. The Bosu Ballast Ball adds an extra dimension to balance training with its unique features.
Key features of the Bosu Ballast Ball include:
Weighted Design: Unlike a standard Bosu Ball, the Bosu Ballast Ball has an interior filled with weighted material, such as sand or water. This added weight increases the challenge of balancing on the ball, making it a more dynamic and effective tool for improving stability and coordination.
Dual-Sided Surface: The Bosu Ballast Ball has a textured, non-slip surface on one side, providing a secure grip for exercises. The opposite side, which is flat, can be used for more traditional Bosu Ball exercises.
Versatile Workouts: Bosu Ballast Balls are versatile and can be used for a wide range of exercises, including balance training, core strengthening, resistance training, and even cardiovascular workouts. They are suitable for people of various fitness levels and can be incorporated into Pilates, yoga, or rehabilitation programs.
Size Options: Bosu Ballast Balls come in different sizes, typically ranging from 45 cm to 65 cm in diameter. Choosing the right size depends on your individual height, fitness goals, and the specific exercises you plan to perform.
Benefits: Regular use of Bosu Ballast Balls can help improve balance, stability, and proprioception (awareness of your body's position in space). They are also useful for enhancing core strength, which can contribute to better posture and reduced risk of injury.
Safety Considerations: When using a Bosu Ballast Ball, it's important to start with basic exercises and gradually progress to more challenging movements. Beginners should be cautious to avoid falls or injuries, and it's recommended to use the ball on a stable, non-slip surface.
Overall, the Bosu Ballast Ball is a valuable tool for individuals looking to add variety and challenge to their fitness routines, especially for those who want to focus on balance and core strength. It's important to use proper form and consult with a fitness professional or trainer if you're new to balance training or have specific fitness goals in mind.

User questions & answers
Question: | Is this an actual workout or is it more of a how-to video for bosu instructors |

User questions & answers
Question: | I bought the ball and it came super oily and greasy and it's really slippery how do I get it off and is this normal |
Answer: | It comes deflated with a hand pump. Pump is plastic and pretty rickety. It takes a long time to inflate the ball, but it works. |
Question: | There are conflicting descriptions re: 45cm vs 65 cm. What is the actual size of this item |
Answer: | It does not contain regular sand. What I do know is that it does not hold the air you put in it. Thus, it deflates from the pressure you want to a limp ball that is not useful for anything but a door stop. I have tried several of the balls and they all do the same thing. None of my other exercise balls have this problem including the great Bosu trainer half round. This ball is not worth the money. |
Question: | Does this ship inflated or deflated |
Answer: | It is a workout video that I do not recommend. The oldest BOSU video is the only ONE that I recommend from this series. Any that feature Douglas or Candice Brooks I also recommend, I do not recommend any of the others. |
Question: | Does it contain sand |
Answer: | Not leak proof |

User questions & answers
Question: | this is the pro model and 65cm?thanks |
Answer: | It is 65cm but the Home/Retail model |
Question: | I have terrible balance. Would this be helpful to me or is it too challenging for someone with no balance |
Answer: | I have found it to be good for balance especially if you have weak ankles or surrounding area. As you master just standing on the flat part of the Bosu, you can move on to incorporating movement and weights in your workout. If your balance is compromised, just make sure you have something solid to grab onto as you work out on it. I installed a 'barre' in my workout room out of 4 ft of stair rail at a handy height for something to grab when mounting the ball and as a 'security blanket' . So far I only use it with the flat side up, but there are plenty of more and less challenging uses of the Bosu ball that use it flat-side down. |
Question: | Is there a difference between the BOSU Blue Trainer and the BOSU Standard - they seem very similar and Amazon ALWAYS messes up dimensions |
Answer: | There is a Bosu Balance Trainer and Bosu Sport Balance -- the latter being smaller for portability. But, THE Bosu is the Balance Trainer, so I think safe to assume "standard" refers to that. The base platform is 25" in diameter (26 1/2 " if handles included). Inflated, the height is 9-10". |
Question: | Does anyone have any tips on how to inflate this thing |
Answer: | I used this: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01BI4UQK0/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Not recommending buying it just to inflate the Bosu, but it is a very handy item to have in general. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Does this come with the stability ball |
Answer: | It does not. I have used it primarily on my "bosu ball" which as you may know it more stable than a regular stability ball. |
Question: | How much does this item weigh & are instructions included in the box |
Answer: | I did not weigh it. But it is pretty lightweight. However, it is a very solid build. Very Sturdy. No instructions. It is my biggest pet peeve for this product. They don't include a chart or a booklet or a link to an online video. Nothing. A very big disappointment in this area. |
Question: | Is the Helm designed for both males and females? I am 5'4", 115, will it be too large? I have had rotator cuff/bicep surgery |
Answer: | Not too large at all. The helm is actually very lightweight (maybe 10lbs max). I've only got an inch on you and I can handle it just fine. I'm not sure much it would bother your shoulder though. |
Question: | Does this slip on hardwood |
Answer: | I just tried it on my shiny and very polished hardwood floor to answer your question. When you are working out on it, the downward pressure of the plank and push-up does a decent job of keeping it in place, BUT it can very easily slip forward if your momentum shifts. I would NOT recommend using it on hardwood floors. Additionally, it may also scratch them as you are working out. |

Helm - Engineered To Enhance Workout Routines & Improve Athlete Performance.
The Helm allows you to perform upper body & core routines with a BOSU Balance Trainer or stability ball. The combination of the Helm and a ball creates a multi-dimensional axis, forcing your body to stabilize and adjust with every movement.
PROMOTING QUICKER, STRONGER RECOVERIES.
Training with the Helm in a re-hab scenario helps boost athlete recovery. The instability factor helps build muscle connections quicker, which in turn builds stronger tissue to prevent re-injury while strengthening the athlete’s control over the injured joint or muscle group.
ENHANCING NEURO-MUSCULAR CONTROL
With the Helm on the ball, your body is forced to react, respond and adjust to every minor movement in the ball, in order to maintain balance. This means your brain is constantly creating & reinforcing new connections to your musculature much quicker than it would during a standard routine. These constant connections lead to a greater ability to control and predict muscle movements.
3 HANDLE POSITIONS MEANS MORE CONTROL.
The Helm's 3 grip design gives you greater precision while allowing you to target a wide range of muscle groups. Go narrow to hit the inner chest and shoulders. Go wide to target the back and outer chest. Or, go standard to target a wider range of musculature.
Wide Grip
Pronated Grip
Neutral Grip

Answer: | It did not include a DVD but it did come with a foot pump. |

Answer: | The dome on the home version and the pro version are exactly the same. The difference is going to be the base. The pro unit has a fully rubberized base where as the home version just has 6 small rubber feet on the base. I had to contact the company to get this exact answer |

User questions & answers
Question: | Are the gray pods different than the blue ones in firmness |
Answer: | Adding air should be super easy. A needle tip pump (like for basketballs or soccer balls) should be able to get in and just a couple pumps makes a huge difference. If you can’t make that work, then yes, they’re probably a bad batch. |
Question: | What’s the weight limit/capacity |
Answer: | I ordered six and none of them were oily or greasy or slippery. I would call and send it back , Something must be wrong with it. |
Question: | I am not able to pump air into these, did I get a bad batch or have you guys had a similar experience |
Answer: | Be careful when you order. The 45 cm is small. I made the mistake of not checking and got the small ball which is to small to do most of the exercises. |

User questions & answers
Question: | How can i fill it if is deflated |
Answer: | Any needle pumP (for a basketball/soccerball) can be used to insert more air into the valve on the bottom. |
Question: | Can you pump air into these if they lose pressure over time? If so, what tool would you use |
Answer: | Yes, you can add air with a standard needle pump that you would use on a basketball, volleyball, etc. |
Question: | How does this compare to doing exercises on a bosu ball? i have pt that involves standing on one foot on one, and i'd love a less expensive option |
Answer: | The BOSU Pods are much smaller, so they are more challenging to stand on than the regular size BOSU. One pod per foot, so if you are doing an exercise where one leg is weight bearing and the other is off the ground it is a lot more difficult to balance. I think you get a better core workout with the pods because they are more difficult to balance on so you are engaging more muscle groups than with a regular BOSU. |
Question: | Is there a weight limit? How does that work if the weight is distributed |
Answer: | Hello, The recomended weight capacity is 300 lbs. for each pod. |

About Bosu
Invented by David Weck, the Bosu Balance Trainer debuted in 2000 and quickly became one of the most successful fitness training products in the world. Originally the name Bosu was an acronym for "Both Sides Up." It meant that the Bosu Balance Trainer could be used on either side, the dome or the platform.Today, the term Bosu has evolved beyond the product to now mean "Both Sides Utilized," a mindful approach to exercise that is meant to be a step beyond traditional training. This new definition and meaning inspired the company to develop additional Bosu products and programming.
On their own, Bosu balls are just molded plastic, weighted rubber, and stability balls with secret filling that need to be engaged to be effective. The Bosu training approach strives to ensure that when you get on the Bosu Balance Trainer, or move with the Bosu Ballast Ball, you are utilizing a feel-good, get-fit, no-regrets training tool.
