Answer: I also found the measuring tape useless. Unclear in its use and I couldn't inflate the ball large enough for what I THOUGHT I was to do with the tape.

Answer: They have a chart that helps you decide, I would go with the XL. The difference between the exercise size and the birthing size is the angle your legs will create when you sit on it with both feet on the ground. The excersize size is smaller because you want to create a right angle or smaller (more acute) in order to get the best workout results and prevent injury. For birthing you want a right angle or higher (more obtuse) you do not want your knees to come below your butt, this will result in a super uncomfortable ordeal. For birthing having your butt either higher or level with your knees while sitting is the best position. I apologize for making such a long response, hope it helps, Go for XL!

If you had a surgery, your OT or PT should be providing and/or recommending the appropriate choice based on where you are with your tear, age, surgery, etc. If you don't have full range of motion, resistance to the shoulder should wait until you have more motion but could be used with the other joints (elbow, wrist, etc. are all important). If you haven't had a surgery, I would always consider an over the door shoulder pulley and absolutely consult with a physical or occupational therapist regardless. outside perspective..... Yes I would always recommend flat....but if you have a therapist available, even if it is a consult, they can provide you with the bands they feel are best for your injury and recover. Your shoulder is the most complicated joint of the body, trust their judgement.

Question: Step on one foot rest, othe doesn't rise. Is machine set up wrong? newbie question
Answer: Make sure the steel cable between the two is on the "track" and adjust the knob under the foot rests - it may need to be tighter, if too tight, you can hardly make it work. Took me a couple of tries to get it right - go to the "+" side first. Hope this helps.

Answer: I believe it's around 15lbs, definitely under 20lbs, so pretty easy to move around.

Answer: I had the same problem. Make sure that when you play with the cable to get it correctly on the wheel, one pedal is up while the other is down. Try moving the pedals with your hands, one pedal up as the other is down, until the cable is correctly attached
Question: Can I use this if I am seated on a chair, or do I have to be standing
Answer: I tried it - I guess it depends on height of the chair. Sitting in dining room I found it somewhat awkward but it is doable. If my chair was a little higher it might have been better
