I comes with two holes 12 1/2" apart. this means you may find one stud to use but not another. If you can locate one stud to secure to and don't have another, drive a temporary screw into the hole that works (or make your own hole that will work) and mark the other hole, on the wall. Take down the unit from the wall, purchase a "Molly anchor" from the hardware store and ask them how to install it for the other mounting position. One good scre in a stud and the other being a "Molly" will work fine forever! Sometimes, do to no stud where you need one, you'll need to use two "Molly anchors".
