Answer:	It would be difficult to set this off accidentally. As for deterring bears, I prefer that you also carry a 44 Magnum or 50 caliber revolver. If the horn doesn't scare them off then the revolver might dispatch them. It is illegal to feed the bears, even if it is you they are consuming!

Answer:	I bought it specifically to annoy my husband......and I wasn’t disappointed. It’s loud I just wouldn’t get right by their ears.

Answer:	To call them to lunch. It can be used until there is no more pressurized gas. I have lived in the hills of East Tennessee all my life, and have found black bears tend to have a mind of their own. Five might run, the sixth might be angry at being bothered. A .44 mag might be the better final persuader if you have a legal carry license (legal carry in the park).

Answer:	On Amazon it says that they don't need to be oiled. But on the compressor instructions it says to oil them occasionally. I've had mine for about a year and I have still not oiled them and they sound fine. But to answer your question yes they do require oiling at some point.
