| Answer: | I simply replaced my old stern light with this one. There was already a wire hole and the light fixture is about 95% flush mounted. Theres about a 1/16" x 1/2" diameter center section that protrudes so that the light itself has minimal contact with the transome, also helps to have an airspace to keep fixture cool. So to answer you question, no to drilling a big hole. Yes to drilling a couple small holes for mounting screws and just snap the cap on. One more thing.... . It's super bright! |
