Answer:	A: We are transitioning my 1 year old off bottles. This has been great, he learned quick on how to use the straw and since it is silicone he can’t get hurt on it. He holds it well with my supervision in his high chair. I’d recommend if you are not wanting to use sippy cups, which straw or open cups are now recommended by dentists.

Answer:	Yes they are hard to clean, if cleaning means you want to access the surfaces and scrub. you can't take apart the top, and even with only water inside, it does get algae. we don't have a dishwasher. We tried to boil them to disinfect and melted the top! so not as sturdy as other Contigo products which you can disinfect. but not a bad product.

Answer:	There is no straw or spout. Once you have your mouth around the mouth hole, squeeze the button on opposite side of the lid. This opens the valve from within the water bottle and allows the water to flow through as you tip up the bottle. I hope this helps!

Question:	How do I order replacement straws
Answer:	If you can read my review (w/ pics), I go into great detail about why this cup is horrible for smoothies. I bought this cup specifically w/ the intent to use it for smoothies because of the large gauge straw. Beware the interior straw valve, it's easily damaged (and always seems to smell). The biggest problem with this cup is that the smoothie slowly creeps up the straw and out of the top of the straw and then fills the recess on the top of the cup and can cover the vent hole, which then pulls smoothie into the lid's matrix, where it gets trapped forever and molds. It happened to 3 cups!!! I finally gave up and trashed them all. We use the Thermos Brand "Fun"tainer for our smoothies now and have no complaints.
Question:	Can i use it serve milk
Answer:	Only the tiniest bit. I have one kid keep it in her lunch box, and her lunch box comes home dry. The other keeps it at her desk and says it's fine. I like that it holds a lot, but isn't one of those giant bottles that won't fit in a backpack side pocket!

Answer:	Not really. There's no valve, it's just a straw. When you close the top there is a little plastic piece that you slide over which locks the top down. The only issues we've had with spilling is when my kids forget to slide that lock over.
