Answer:	I dug a 4 feet deep hole with an 18-inch diameter. Set a cinder block on the base of the hole and set the Pole on it and poured concrete. Held the Pole with supports until 48 hours. In-Ground Mounting with DuPont Rust Protection

The main pole of the SB54iG is placed directly into the ground and secured with concrete. This concrete, combined with the steel pole, make this goal remarkably strong. Being directly installed into the concrete, the steel pole becomes susceptible to the moisture that comes with being underground. However, an additional layer of powder coating at the base of the pole protects that steel from corroding, providing an impenetrable barrier to keep your steel strong.

Height Adjustability from 7.5 to 10 foot

The Silverback SB54iG offers height adjustability, so everyone in the family can get in on the game. This goal uses a crank actuator to adjust the goal to infinite heights from the NBA and NCAA regulation height of 10 foot to the safety-approved height of 7.5 foot. Our goals meet ASTM Safety Standards and will not adjust below 7.5 foot to prevent player injury, including serious head injuries.

Backboard Pad

The SB54iG comes equipped with a Backboard Pad, creating a cushion around the edges of the backboard. This pad protects players when they make contact with the board doing layups and jumping for the rebound. This Backboard Pad is particularly important when the goal is in the lower positions and player impact with the board is more likely.

Pole Pad

Also included with the SB54iG is a Pole Pad. Not only does this pad complete the look of the goal, but it is also an important safety feature. During aggressive play under the goal, the Pole Pad creates a soft cushion when players make contact with the pole. Made of high-density foam and covered in a durable nylon shell, this pole pad will look great and last through years of rough play.

Break-Away Rim

Also included with the SB54iG is a break-away rim. This spring activated rim flexes under pressure, similar to professional-style rims. Not only is this an important performance feature, but the break-away rim also protects the integrity of the backboard and prevents player injury when impacting the rim.

Tempered Glass Backboard

Just like professional style glass backboards, the SB54iG features a 3/16 inch-Thick, 54 inch-Length x 33 inch-Width, tempered glass backboard. Because this goal is anchored in the ground, it can support the weight of a glass backboard which provides the truest rebound of all backboard materials. This glass is treated through the tempering process to make it incredibly durable and safe in the event of shattering.

Powder Coating

Rugged steel is used throughout the SB54iG and provides uncompromising strength. To protect this steel, the goal is covered in powder coating for ultimate rust and UV protection, maintaining the performance and look of the goal. The section of the pole that installs into the ground is covered in an extra layer of powder coating for unbeatable protection. In addition, all system hardware is coated in Zinc for added rust protection.

2 Foot Overhang

The SB54iG also features 2 foot of overhang from the pole to the backboard, allowing for play underneath the hoop. Having some overhang is an important safety feature as it allows players to go in for layups and guard underneath the hoop without running into the main pole.

4 x 4 inch Steel Pole

These goals feature a 4 x 4 inch steel pole. The steel in this pole supports the weight of the tempered glass backboard, and significantly contributes to the strength of the system. As a result, the Silverback SB54iG has significantly less vibration than portable systems.
