The pump works on battery, but it's not controlled by the switch. When you turn it off, LED/pump both turn off. But if you turn on the switch, LED/pump would NOT turn on immediately. It needs to charge for sometime as the battery voltage is low. Once charged, the voltage gets ok, it would work again.



Q: You can feel the vibration of the pump motor, but only a low pressure trickle of water comes out.

A: It may be clogged. There are four screws in the bottom corners then need to come out to check for filter clog.

Answer:	No. There is no battery to store a charge from the solar panel. Only works with sunlight exposure.

Answer:	You probably could, which is nice that is has a separate solar panel. In fact, you could even put it in an animal drinking bowl to keep things moving and keep it cleaner. The little sponge filter seems to pick up pretty small things like seeds, which is nice. I noticed that they actually do sell some pump basins that have filter material around it for pond pumps, so you could even get one of those, or, even make your own with one of those dishwasher cubes you can buy to put small things in so they don't fly all over the dishwasher, and then put screen material around it, or, even easier, put the whole thing inside one of the pool cleaning wands you can buy almost anywhere, that would be used to manually skim the pool water for debris. The only thing is make sure the water is deep enough and the pump doesn't get starved for water, or it will likely burn out.

Answer:	The pump sits inside the water fountain with suction cups to hold it in place and a sponge filter to prevent debris from getting into the pump mechanism. Sadly our local rabbits like the smell of the insulation over the wire which runs from the solar panel to the pump. They severed it within 1 week. I suggest covering the wire with duct tape and burying it to keep it away from the c itters. Hyundai had the same problem with their engine wiring a few years back. Squirrels thought it was food!
Question:	What are the dimensions of the pump itself
Answer:	The pump itself is quite small. I'm not really sure of the dimensions but its about 2 inches by 1 inch. I hooked it up to change an electric fountain to a solar and it works fine. Hope this helps.

Answer:	The pump will run without water for quite a while - and suffer only a small loss of power each time until eventually it won't push the water a foot or so up the tube to create the cascade. I suggest the habit of power flushing the fountain once a week all year long to remove motor killing sediment and keep the water to the brim of both bowels - or simply unplug the solar panel until you actually want a full power fountain that won't let you down. This kind of fountain requires clean water and a full bowl to work correctly.
