The Shell.

The surface of the kid’s cold weather gloves shell is treated with a Durable Water Repellent finish which acts as a first moisture barrier. The backside of the shell is treated with another water-resistant and breathable coating. This results in a kind of climate control system that lets perspiration out, while keeping moisture from getting in - resulting in warm and dry hands.

Answer:	Yes to an extent. The outside is, and if you wear your coat sleeves over them, they are 100%. However, if you get snow in through the wrist, they’ll get very wet as the interior is a soft and super absorbent material. However, my kids stayed good and dry and warm in them. And were able to make snowballs much better than mittens. We did wear some cheap dollar tree cotton gloves under bc it was a brutal chill, but these are pretty insulating.
Question:	What size should I get my 6 year old? He's of average to below-average height and weight for his age
Answer:	These fit my 7 year old who is really small for his age. My 9 year old cannot fit his hands in these gloves. I would say these would be too small for an 11 year old.
