Answer:	No, I would suggest buying a set of guards for your skates. This should prevent the blade from cutting the material. I have only been using my bag for a few weeks and I do not sense I will have a problem with the bag ripping from the blade or weight of the skates. There appears to be some think almost waxy layer to the inside of the pouches, but it is not what I would call lined. Hope this help!

Answer:	My 5 1/2 year old has a normal-size head and I measured the circumference before I ordered. The small was too small, even when adjusted to the biggest length. I'd say small is for anyone 4 and under. However, the medium has a big range....it can fit probably up to an 11-12 year old. So kids in the 5-6 range should probably get the medium and just adjust the tightness.
