14 best aircare whole house humidifiers
Aircare whole house humidifiers are a type of home appliance designed to maintain optimal humidity levels throughout an entire home. These devices are primarily used to improve indoor air quality and create a more comfortable living environment, especially during dry or winter seasons. Here are some key points about Aircare whole house humidifiers:
Purpose: The primary purpose of Aircare whole house humidifiers is to add moisture to the air in large areas or entire homes. This is particularly beneficial in regions with dry climates or during winter months when indoor air can become excessively dry due to heating systems.
Coverage Area: Aircare offers a range of whole house humidifiers designed to cover various square footage. These humidifiers are typically suitable for homes of different sizes, so you can choose the model that best fits your living space.
Operation: These humidifiers work by using a fan to distribute moisture from a water reservoir into the air as a fine mist or vapor. The moisture is then circulated throughout your home via the HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) system.
Adjustable Humidity Levels: Aircare whole house humidifiers often feature adjustable humidity settings. This allows you to control and maintain the desired indoor humidity level, which is typically recommended to be between 30% and 50% for comfort and health.
Health Benefits: Maintaining proper indoor humidity can have several health benefits. It helps alleviate dry skin, scratchy throat, and respiratory issues often associated with overly dry air. Additionally, it can reduce the spread of airborne viruses and improve sleep quality.
Energy Efficiency: Aircare designs their whole house humidifiers to be energy-efficient. By adding moisture to the air, these devices can help your home feel warmer at lower thermostat settings during the winter, potentially saving on heating costs.
Maintenance: Regular maintenance is essential to ensure the effective and hygienic operation of Aircare whole house humidifiers. This includes cleaning the unit, changing water filters or wicks, and periodically disinfecting the water reservoir.
Digital Controls: Some Aircare models come with digital controls, allowing for precise humidity level adjustments and scheduling of operation times. These features provide added convenience and automation.
Water Management: To prevent the growth of mold and bacteria, Aircare humidifiers often incorporate technologies like UV-C lights and antimicrobial treatments in their water tanks or wicks.
Design and Aesthetics: Aircare offers a variety of designs and finishes to match different home decor styles. These humidifiers are designed to blend seamlessly with your interior.
Aircare whole house humidifiers are a reliable choice for homeowners looking to maintain a comfortable and healthy indoor environment by addressing issues related to low humidity levels. When choosing a model, consider the size of your home, the desired humidity level, and any additional features that may enhance your overall experience. Regular maintenance is key to ensuring these humidifiers perform effectively and efficiently.

User questions & answers
Question: | How high will the humidity go up to, will it go past |
Answer: | I have a 2.5 story new house, and it's been installed since we moved in 7 months ago. We have never had great water pressure, and two people can't shower at the same time. I just tried bypassing the filer, and there's much better pressure. So yes it does reduce pressure, but I guess that's to be expected with a good filter that removes debris down to 5 microns... |
Question: | I had a Kenmore console humidifier and this looks extremely similar. Are they the same |
Answer: | Yes. The HD-S keeps all of the scale build up off of my shower heads and dishwasher. We use to use the HD and it worked great for the chlorine, but did nothing for the scale build up. |
Question: | Is there any way to reduce the gurgling sounds as water drains from the tanks into the humidifier |
Answer: | It's very simple. Just press a tab up, and rotate the filter a 1/4 turn and it comes off. It's even easier if you've built a bypass as suggested in the manual. |
Question: | Has anyone else had issues with the unit not pulling from the left water bottle - even after the right one is empty |
Answer: | your attic will not affect the system,, while most water systems hook up through the basement. filter housing is plastic, head unit in metal. - j |

User questions & answers
Question: | How many gallons for the 2,300 sq ft unit |
Answer: | The ladder can only be installed in one area. |
Question: | Where should I place this in regards to my heating intake to help get the moisture through the whole house. I have a 1512sq foot ranch style house |
Answer: | You really wouldn't want to. The bottom has absolutely no clearance so your top bunk would be 6" off the bottom. As a matter of fact, I would recommend you do not buy this bed. The distance between bunks is too short and our year old out grew the distance very quickly and kept hitting his head while getting into bed. After 2 months we had to separate them into two beds. |
Question: | Where do you buy the new filter? Anyone have a link |
Answer: | It doesn’t matter about the dimensions, I would never order anything from this company again. Half the parts were missing and took over 6 weeks to get them all. Pay a little more and get all your parts. |

User questions & answers
Question: | I have had this unit a year and now the F flashes even though it's full. And it doesn't turn on consistently. Any thoughts |
Answer: | There is a plastic tubular piece that should slide up and down to warn water is low (F). Lime / calcium build up and seize it or it doesn't get seated right on the switch. Im going on my third year with this unit. Beats Holmes / Sunbeam, etc. in its ability to cover my 2 bdrm apartment at 45% when its cold and dry outside. The others always end up leaking or making squeaking noises. |
Question: | why does my humidifer show F |
Answer: | Mine did the same thing when I received it. I called the factory in AR and they told me to turn the fan unit upside down and find a silver bar about 2" long. Spring the bar down a little so it will make contact with the water float directly beneath. Spring it ever so slightly and then a second or third time if necessary so as not to damage the switch. Once I did that the fan could be identified as F1, F2, F3, F4, or A. Be sure to plug and unplug the unit each time an adjustment is made so the machine can reset. |
Question: | How often do you need to replace the filter if you run it every day |
Answer: | Once in early November when I get the homie out. Replace it in January. I use both a bacteria stat and a liquid descaler which I squirt a little in when I refill the tank. Avoids smell and makes the filters work better. You can buy them premixed in liquid form. The better your wick works the less the humid will run and presumably it will last longer. I’m still using my old kenmore which I’ve had for several years. |
Question: | does white dust occurs |
Answer: | The "white dust" the questioner is asking about is mineral deposits from water when the water is sprayed into the air. This is an evaporative humidifier where water evaporates off of a wick, not a spray atomizer that sprays water into the air along with the minerals in the water. All of the minerals will remain in the wick of the humidifier, requiring the wick to be replaced. The higher the calcium content in your water, the more frequently you will need to replace the wick. |
Question: | Aren’t these washable |
Answer: | No, they are not washable... |
Question: | Ma1040 superwick by essick air, i am looking for |
Answer: | I think it is. I use it in my tabletop humidifier. |
Question: | Will these fit the d46720 model |
Answer: | It fits the tabletop model that I have which is rated for 1000 sq ft. The next size up available on Amazon is a tower model and the manufacturer info says that model uses dual (I assume that means it takes 2) 1040 filters. Hope this helps |
Question: | Actual filter size |
Answer: | The actual size for the filter cartridge is: H=8 1/2 by W=1 1/2 by L=8 3/4 inches. These are overall measurements of the cartridge. The actual filter dimensions are 7 5/8 by 7 5/8 by 1 1/2. Hope this helps. |
Product features
Trapmax Filter Technology
The exclusive Trapmax system traps unwanted mineral deposits and cleans air naturally.
To maintain maximum efficiency, wick filters should be replaced at least once per season, or more often under hard water conditions.
Caring for Your Wick
How Often Should I Replace My Wick?
We recommend changing your wick every 30-90 days, but your water quality will ultimately dictate your wick’s replacement frequency. Areas with very hard or very soft water will typically require more frequent wick changes, since your wick is working harder to filter your water. Keeping your humidifier clean will help this.
Can I Clean My Wick?
No. Our wicks are made of highly absorbent paper, which makes them great for wicking water, but not sturdy enough to withstand scrubbing or a run through the dishwasher. Cleaning your humidifier regularly is the best way to keep your wick clean.
How Do I Replace My Wick?
Wick replacement instructions vary by model, but changing a wick is pretty easy to do. You’ll find your model’s instructions in your owner’s manual.
AIRCARE Console Evaporative Humidifier, MA1201
This evaporative humidifier from AIRCARE is sure to complement any decor. It has an easy single bottle design. This humidifier works to add invisible moisture to your environment by moving dry air through a saturated wick filter.
Benefits of Humidication
Evaporative humidifiers are a great solution for adding much needed humidity to dry indoor air. By raising indoor relative humidity levels to 43% or above, 86% of airborne flu virus particles are rendered powerless. Maintaining proper humidity levels also helps treat allergy symptoms by soothing dryness, itchiness, and irritation in the nose, nasal passages, sinuses, mouth, throat, and eyes. Many people think pet hair is the cause of allergies, but in reality, the cause of allergens from pets is actually from their dander. Adding moisture to the air reduces pet dander and other airborne allergens. Properly humidified environments can decrease or eliminate static electricity, reducing the chance of damage to sensitive electronic equipment like laptops, desktop computers, tablets, TV’s, stereo systems, etc. Evaporative Humidification not only produces comfortable/healthy air, it is also an extremely effective way to save money on energy cost. Adding humidity to the air allows you to remain comfortable at lower thermostat settings. 'The rule of thumb is that you can save about 3% on your heating bill for every degree that you set back your thermostat,' says Bill Prindle, deputy director for the non-profit American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy. This means evaporative humidification could save you up to 10% on your energy bill.

User questions & answers
Question: | Where do you get the filters |
Answer: | Yes it only releases water to a certain level. Has a spring loaded cap that dispenses as needed. There is a wicking filter that has to be replaced occasionally. It has a humidity control that you set for your comfort level. |
Question: | Are the wick and filter the same thing |
Answer: | Holds one bottle full which is 2-1/2 gallons. Unless it is really cold out, one bottle lasts 24 hours. Best is to plan filling it up first thing in the morning and that will last 24 hours. When it is mild out (75 ° in KC today) one bottle will last 2 days. |
Question: | Is the Copper night selection model hd3120dcn |
Answer: | I live in the desert so on "Low" I would have to fill it twice a day, on "High" I would have to fill it 3 times a day. |
Question: | The top of the filter housing on mine only connects on the two front tabs. The back of the housing just sits on top of filter. Is this correct |
Answer: | Sort of hard to say - since it's subjective. I keep mine outside my bedroom door - on the first speed - and it doesn't bother me at all. Sort of just a low fan sound - about the same as the heat kicking on and off. I don't notice it at all. However, all of the other speeds, in my opinion, are very loud. It goes up to 5 - and that sounds like a 747 idling. I guess if you had it in some remote location and wanted to crank it up, the higher speeds would work. I live in a 1200 sq ft townhome and, set at 45, it keep the upstairs (where it is) at about 45% and the downstairs at about 35%. Perfect for me. I'm really happy with it. No more shocking all the pets with static electricity! |

AIRCARE Triangle Evaporative Humidifier, EA1208
This evaporative humidifier from AIRCARE is sure to complement any decor. It has an easy front fill pour-in design. This humidifier works to add invisible moisture to your environment by moving dry air through a saturated wick filter.
Benefits of Humidification
"The rule of thumb is that you can save about 3% on your heating bill for every degree that you set back your thermostat," says Bill Prindle, deputy director for the non-profit American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy. This means evaporative humidification could save you up to 10% on your energy bill.
