Answer:	This is a great product, I bought for my son when he was 4 and he is now 6 and it has been a great confident booster for him on skates. I compare it to having training wheels on a bike. They just strap around the skate so it is adjustable and would likely work for an adult .. pretty solid plastic ... but it is more like a training wheel .. not necessarily going to keep you up, just help you balance! Answer:	My girls all started at 3-4 years old and fit nicely into the size 8-9 (although I forget their actual shoe sizes at the time). Currently my 3 year old is size 7.5 and uses the 8/9 size skate, my 5 year old is size 10 and uses the 10/11 skate, and my 7 year old is size 11 and uses the 12/13 skate. I think you should get the 8/9 skate and use extra pairs of socks if needed.
