Question:	What’s the Minimum ceiling height
Answer:	Any height 10’ and under will work for this hoist.
Question:	can you hook it to a electric hoist
Answer:	It looks like it could be modified to do so. However it’s very easy to do manually I don’t see any point to hook it to a powered hoist. It also could interfere with the mechanism that holds the cable in place when suspended so I would advise against it.

Answer:	I’d say yes, it is a basic system where straps cross cross to hold it up. The instructs talk about Jeep hard tops though... you may have to increase the distance between the 2x6s mounted to the rafters

Answer:	You can mount it any where there is a sturdy ceiling to support the unit with a load on it.

Answer:	The rack itself certainly could handle the weight of four bikes. The physical space 3‘ x 8‘ would be a little bit crowded. You would need to carefully organize the way each bike is hung.

Answer:	A: It doesn’t wobble much. If you’re able to install it against a wall, attach the uprights to that wall, it won’t wobble at all. I couldn’t do that so I attached a piece of scrap 2x4 to the right and left corner uprights and the wall that this was 18inches from. Cheap fix. No wobble. Answer:	I do not know if it is possible to disable the locking mechanism. My celling is high and have the wheelbarrow above my car. So I actually tie off in addition. You even get the bracket to mount so you can tie off.

Answer:	its basic PVC plastic. i mounted to a milk crate to make a kayak fishing crate and hold 3 poles no problem. basic pvc from home depot will do the trick too. this one is nice because i like the cutouts that allow the reel to fit also.

Answer:	I'm not sure of the size. I didn't use the supplied screws which were for attaching to the wall. I hung two of these onto a storage rack in my garage to store hold a paddle board. The rack can be installed with the ceiling brackets parallel to the 8 foot C-channels or parallel to the 4 foot C-channels. If the rack that they have pictured here is installed per the instructions, the ceiling joists are parallel to the 4 foot C-channels.
Question:	Can I mount it in the center of my garage or does it need to go against a wall
Answer:	Mine is not mounted against the wall. Its mounted to the support beams on the garage cealing. Begore you mount them make sure your support beams will hold the weight of rack plus the items you will put on it.

Question:	Does this come with a long enough rope to hang from a 15 foot ceiling
Answer:	I just hung mine and was surprised at how short the rope was. I have a 14' kayak that i have the hooks spaced 6' apart. My ceiling height is about 10' and when i lowered the hooks neither was long enough to reach the floor. This resulted in having to get on the ladder to pull the cord from the restraining clamp. Will be heading to home depot and buying a much longer rope to make this work.
Question:	I cannot life weight above my waist, what is the lift ratio
Answer:	The lift ratio is 2:1. A forty-five pound kayak weighs 23, or so, pounds as you are lifting it. Most of that lifting will have to be above your waist if the pulleys are mounted to the ceiling. I would suggest this product is not suited for a person in your position as it requires lots of "above your head" work in lifting and lowering. Having said that, other pulley systems will result in the same difficulties.
Question:	How close to the ceiling can you get these I have about 18” between garage door and ceiling
Answer:	I don't think you can get that close. I ran my straps through the floor scupper holes of my kayak, this has allowed me to get much higher. The bottom of my kayak is more than 2 feet from the top of the ceiling. The picture at the left seems like a fair representation.
Question:	can this be mounted on a vaulted ceiling
Answer:	Yes. But make sure you hit studs because it pulls a lot of torque when you pull your kayak up and down

Question:	If the grid is 45”, what are the exact ceiling surface area dimensions required to fit this
Answer:	I was able to bolt to the rafters however the supports were slightly crooked, so I re drilled one side to make straight. So in answer it will fit 48" spread just off a little

Answer:	Yes the rack height is adjustable from 16" to 28", by raising or lowering the mounting points of the rack along the support arm. It is pre-drilled to select the proper height for your application.
Question:	can I install it in 25" by 45 "? Is it a must to have 45" by 45" space? thank you
Answer:	The floor grid is 45" x 45" and is one piece so it does require a 45" x 45" space for installation.
Question:	Does this come with all necessary hardware or will I need to purchase something more
Answer:	Yes it comes with all the hardware, you just need to find your ceiling joist, mark, drill and screw. a battery impact gun works wonders.

Question:	What is the assembled height? (I have a storage room with low ceiling
Answer:	67 inches. if your ceiling is low you may not be able to put a board on the top. they have all the measurements in one of the photos of the storage rack - very helpful
Question:	What is this rack made out of...aluminum, steel, or something else
Answer:	It seems to be made of aluminum, but I could be wrong. It is strong though. Mine holds two SUPs, one 8'6" long board, and a one man outrigger.
Question:	Can it support weight of 5 kayaks? Without toppling over? Will it rust if kept outdoors
Answer:	It supports the weight of 5 SUP's well. I do not think it would support the weight of 5 kayaks as easily (depending of the size of the kayaks of course). I cannot comment on its response to outdoor exposure as I keep it in my garage.
Question:	Would this rack work for sit-on-top kayaks
Answer:	Yes! you have the ability to adjust the spacing on the rack! My husband loves this rack, simple & strong! He uses it for SUPs and Windsurfer boards. I hope this helps!
