Answer:	Yes, it has a check-valve that prevents water from entering should you go too deep when snorkeling. That would be via the mouth, but your nose is sealed in the mask, so essentially it also protects water from entering the nose.

How To Wear This Snorkel

1. Put some water on the snorkel and mask. Get it wet before wear it.
2. Push the buckle and get it out from the snorkel
3. Let the buckle get through mask band and move it to a comfortable position. Then insert the buckle into the snorkel attachment. You can move the attachment to a comfortable position.
4. Put on the mask and tug the straps until it feels comfortably sealed around your eyes and nose. Make sure the snorkel is close to your face.
5. Place the snorkel mouthpiece in your mouth and bite down gently. Lay flat in the water on your stomach. Place your face in the water at about a 45-degree angle. Take slow, regular breaths in and out through the tube, then begin your snorkeling journey.

Super Portable for Carry

The snorkel tube is so soft that it can be folded and hold in hand. You can put it into your bag and take it to anywhere. If you don’t want to a bag or backpack to take it, that’s just fine. It come with a carry bag with shoulder strap and drawstring. You can take it on your shoulder or just hold it in hand with drawstring.

Removable Dry top and Replaceable Mouthpiece

The dry float valve top can be removed, so it will become a wet snorkel from dry snorkel. Thus it help you dive deeper and faster. If you don’t want to that, you can just put it on and it will be a full dry snorkel.

Answer:	I would think you'd have to tuck your beard into the mask so it'd have contact with your skin to seal.

Answer:	Yes it should. Your chin fits inside so the seal will be more at the top of your neck. It seals my husbands beard, though it's not a long one.
