Answer:	From what I remember about when my daughter was 2 she was still in an everything goes to the mouth phase. I can tell you for sure he would not be machine washable and does have those plastic eyes that parents worry about. His hands and feet are plastic and the stitching is very good around the ears. Do you remember Monchichi monkey toys from the 80s? I'd say he's about as sturdy.
