4 best dive masks
Dive masks are essential equipment for underwater activities such as scuba diving and snorkeling. They are designed to create an air pocket in front of the diver's eyes, allowing clear vision underwater. Here are some key features and aspects of dive masks:
Design and Construction:
- Materials: Dive masks are typically made from high-quality, durable materials like silicone for the skirt (the part that seals around the face) and tempered glass for the lenses.
- Skirt: The skirt is designed to create a watertight seal against the diver's face, ensuring that no water enters the mask.
- Lenses: Dive masks usually have two lenses, allowing for a wider field of vision. These lenses are made from tempered glass, which is stronger and more resistant to breaking under pressure.
- Strap: Masks come with adjustable straps made of silicone or neoprene to secure the mask in place. Some masks also have additional features like buckles for easy adjustment.
Types of Masks:
- Single Lens Masks: These masks have a single large lens covering both eyes, providing a wider field of vision.
- Double Lens Masks: These masks have two separate lenses, one for each eye, which can be beneficial for people with different vision prescriptions.
- Full Face Masks: Full face masks cover the entire face and include a built-in breathing apparatus. They are used for advanced diving and allow natural breathing through the nose and mouth.
Fitting and Maintenance:
- Proper Fit: It's crucial to choose a mask that fits well to prevent leaks and discomfort during dives. A good fit ensures that the mask stays in place and maintains a seal against the face.
- Anti-Fogging: Many modern masks come with anti-fog coatings on the lenses to prevent fogging, ensuring clear vision underwater.
- Care and Maintenance: Rinse the mask with fresh water after each use to remove saltwater and sand. Store it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to prolong its lifespan.
Special Features:
- Purge Valve: Some masks have a purge valve at the nose, allowing easy clearing of water without removing the mask.
- Color and Style: Divers can choose from a variety of colors and styles, although the primary purpose is functionality rather than aesthetics.
Choosing the Right Mask:
- Try Before You Buy: It's recommended to try different masks to find the one that fits your face shape comfortably.
- Consideration for Prescription Lenses: If you wear glasses or contact lenses, there are masks available that can accommodate prescription lenses.
Dive masks are fundamental tools for underwater exploration, providing divers with a clear view of the fascinating marine world. Choosing the right mask and properly maintaining it ensures a safe and enjoyable diving experience.

Pano 4 Window Mask
The Pano 4 Mask is a four-lens panoramic design for excellent peripheral vision. A lightweight, durable polycarbonate frame made with a soft silicone skirt fits a wide range of face shapes. Equipped with fast-adjust ratcheting strap buckles and easy-access nose pocket for equalization, this mask is perfect for any scuba diver or snorkeler.
Benefits of Three and Four Window Mask
Having a multi-window mask can provide you with a wide range of peripheral vision, and also decreases a sense of claustrophobia.
Benefits of A Frameless mask
Frameless simply means the silicone skirt bonds directly to the lens for lower weight and reduces drag. Designed from high-grade silicone, the mask seals gently and securely against the face. The frameless mask is ideal for travel as a result of being lightweight and folds easily into a BCD pocket.
Benefits of Easy Adjustable Buckles
The Cressi Easy Adjustable Buckles with release flap. Cressi moved the buckle attachment point off the frame itself and incorporates it further back on to the skirt. Doing this reduces the stress transferred through to the side of the skirt, increases the freedom of movement and helps the skirt seal better. Dräger history in diving
For more than 100 years, we have been focusing our research towards one goal: your safety.
In 1889, Heinrich Dräger took out a patent for the pressure reducer, laying the foundation of modern diving technology. In 1912, Bernhard and Heinrich Dräger developed a diving apparatus that did not need a supply of breathable air from the surface. In 1917, the first decompression system was developed and 1954 saw the introduction of “Leutnant Lund”, the first military oxygen-rebreather.
Dräger technology. Used by professionals
Ever since these developments, Dräger has been further developing diving technology. Today, Dräger manufactures underwater equipment to meet all application needs. For example, the Dräger PSS Dive was developed for use by rescue divers and damage control divers. For military divers, the LAR rebreathers were developed featuring a compact, robust and non-magnetic design.
Our technology and diving products are used by:
- Military divers
- Search divers
- Rescue divers
