10 best guitar effects multis
Guitar effects multis, often referred to as floor multieffects or multi-effects processors, are units designed to consolidate multiple guitar effects into a single device. These units are commonly used by electric guitarists to enhance their sound and create various tones and effects without the need for individual pedals.
A typical guitar effects multi will include a wide array of effects, such as:
Distortion/Overdrive: These effects replicate the sound of an overdriven or distorted tube amplifier.
Modulation Effects: This category includes effects like chorus, flanger, phaser, and tremolo, which modulate the sound to create different textures.
Delay: Delays create an echo effect and can be adjusted for delay time and feedback.
Reverb: Reverb simulates the natural acoustics of different spaces and is used to add depth and ambiance to the sound.
Equalization (EQ): EQ effects allow for tone shaping by adjusting bass, midrange, and treble frequencies.
Pitch Shifters and Harmonizers: These effects alter the pitch of the guitar signal, allowing for harmonies and unique tonal characteristics.
Wah-Wah and Envelope Filters: These effects modify the tone dynamically based on the player's input.
Compressor/Limiter: These effects even out the dynamics of the guitar signal, ensuring a more consistent level.
Floor multieffects units often have a user-friendly interface, with LCD screens and footswitches for easy navigation and control during live performances. Users can customize their effects chain, adjust parameters, and save presets for quick access to preferred sounds.
Additionally, some multis allow for amp modeling, simulating the tones of various amplifiers, speaker cabinets, and microphone placements. This is valuable for achieving a wide range of tones without the need for multiple amplifiers and speaker setups.
Overall, guitar effects multis are a versatile and convenient solution for guitarists looking to experiment with different effects and tones in a compact and portable package.

User questions & answers
Question: | It has amp simulators? I play live and I don't have an amp, I just connect "direct", would it work well |
Answer: | I believe it is 15. Dont quote me on it but I believe it's 15...And you will most definitely need to use a power supply with this particular pedal...I use a One Spot for my 3 pedals....It's just easier on the mind knowing its down there whenever I'm gigging....Question in return, ,,Do you Definately want digital as opposed to analog?... |
Question: | Can I run the preamps through my real tube amp with no problems or is that only for amp simulation for without a amp? Don’t want to mess up my amp |
Answer: | Yes the delay pedal can run on a 9V battery |
Question: | Can you bypass the amp simulations and just use the different effects pedals |
Answer: | Yes it can self oscillate. And with the dirty repeats it sounds amazing. Joyo did an amazing job on this pedal. But it shouldn't be called a digital delay. It has dirty tape echo with warm repeats. Sounds kinda like a eh memory boy Without all the bells and whistles. I've bought 2 of these because I likes it so much and wanted to use them in unison for different timings. |
Question: | Does this have a looping feature? If so, what is the maximum length of the loop that can be created |
Answer: | https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fj5AgDItbl0 Please click the link and you can find the video, hope you like our wireless system, thank you! |

ME-80 Guitar Multiple Effects Processor
Mobile, battery powered, and filled with a diverse selection of flagship-quality BOSS amps and effects, the ME-80 is the ideal compact tone processor for performing guitarists. A friendly knob-based interface makes it simple to dial in great sounds in seconds, while easily selectable operation modes offer the flexibility of individual stompbox-style on/off or instant recall of complex multi-effects setups. Unique new footswitches deliver twice the control of previous designs for efficient and intuitive effects switching, patch selection, and real-time sound shaping while playing on stage. The free BOSS TONE STUDIO software unlocks even more tonal possibilities, providing a cool graphical interface for tweaking and organizing sounds on your computer, plus a web connection to BOSS TONE CENTRAL for direct access to free gig-ready patches created by top pro guitarists and much more.
A Huge Selection of BOSS Effects in One Pedal
No matter what style you play, it’s easy to craft your own personal sound with the ME-80’s wide range of built-in effects. A complete history of gig-ready BOSS tone processing is at your command, from multiple overdrives and distortions to wahs, mod effects, pitch shifters, delays, and beyond. BOSS’ groundbreaking Multi Dimensional Processing (MDP) technology is represented with the unique, spacious ambience of Tera Echo and the distinctive tone-shaping possibilities of Overtone. Updated COSM preamps include new additions such as Crunch and Metal, plus an AC preamp designed for acoustic/electric guitar. The onboard expression pedal can be used for foot volume and pedal effects like wah, octave shift, and Freeze, and it’s also possible to control effects parameters such as mod rate, delay oscillation, and more for expressive real-time sound shaping.
Instant Gratification with Dedicated Knobs
Unlike typical menu-driven multi-effects processors that are complicated and unintuitive, using the ME-80 is as easy as using a stompbox. Effects are organized into eight logical categories that can all be active at the same time. Seven categories contain multiple effects types to choose from, plus dedicated knobs for selecting a type and adjusting it with a set of parameters you’d find in the pedal version of the effect. The Pedal FX category has its own knob for quickly assigning a particular effects type or function to be controlled by foot with the expression pedal. With this familiar and friendly interface, you’re able to dial up and play great tones instantly, just like using a large pedalboard filled with your favorite stomps. But a major advantage over that pedalboard is that you can to save all the current knob settings to one of the ME-80’s 36 user patch locations, allowing you to recall custom effects configurations at the touch of a pedal.
Stompbox Immediacy or Multi-FX Power: You Decide
The hands-on experience that stompbox control provides is perfect for tweaking tones as you go. However, there are times when switching among an entire group of preset effects is more efficient, such as when you’ve set up complex tones for different songs. The flexible ME-80 supports either approach, giving you the best of worlds. In Manual mode, the categories function like individual stomp effects, with instant adjustment via the panel knobs and on/off control with dedicated footswitches. By entering Memory mode, seven footswitches are automatically reconfigured to select user or preset patches and patch banks, letting you recall complete multi-effects setups directly. One footswitch on the ME-80 is dedicated just for mode switching, so you can toggle between Manual and Memory modes any time you want, even in the middle of a song.
New Footswitch Design Delivers Twice the Control
The ME-80 offers easy usability while performing, with eight multifunction footswitches for direct control of effects on/off, bank/patch selection, and mode switching, plus convenient access to alternate functions such as tap tempo, tuner, looper control, and more. A special control (CTL) function is also assignable in each patch, letting you toggle grouped effects on/off or adjust a specified parameter in real time. The newly developed footswitch style provides two switches in the space occupied by one in previous designs, allowing BOSS to equip the ME-80 with a generous array of foot-operated controls while keeping the unit extremely compact and mobile. In addition to the eight main footswitches, the expression pedal is equipped with an integrated toe switch that toggles between foot volume and the current Pedal FX setting.

User questions & answers
Question: | Can this pedal go directly into a recording interface with good results |
Answer: | Well, that depends a lot on what you have “behind that sound card” That means… results can be much realistic and better if you have a plugin like the Hotone Vstomp (or any of your liking) running some amp and cab simulation. In the other hands, there is as many answers as players out there…. cause nobody likes the same thing. Our suggestion is if you’re going to connect the RockStage into a sound card, you may want to also have an amp sim plugin running in your DAW |
Question: | Do they make a carrying case for this pedal? If not, which one fits |
Answer: | It's pretty small. |
Question: | Has it got the power cord with it please |
Answer: | Yes it comes with power supply. Everything works well except the delay. The delay is disappointing. It doesn't work or sound like any delay I've ever worked with. I've played guitar for 50 years |
Question: | Does Sonicake or anybody else make one of these multi-fx pedals without an overdrive or dirt box? I get all of that I want from my amp |
Answer: | Actually, we are currently planning making a multi-effects unit featuring modulation, delay, and reverb. Absolutely no drive section at all. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Can you run a bass through this board? Already have it, and I only will play bass for a gig |
Answer: | It comes with two actually |
Question: | Will this work on a line 6 amplifier |
Answer: | No. It works with the power supply for most guitar pedals. |
Question: | Does this pedal have a built in guitar tuner |
Answer: | More or less yes, BUT I'd 100% recommend grabbing the empress reverb if you're really just after a plug and play reverb pedal. You'll more easily have way more reverb capabilities with the empress reverb and it is by far my favorite reverb pedal on the market. You will not regret buying the reverb by itself (don't think "the zoia can do everything so I don't want to buy a reverb if it's redundant") the zoia can do everything, but the reverb is such a great standalone pedal and is a lot more "plug and play" than the zoia |
Question: | Is this a "Stereo" Pedal. w/ Ping Pong type delay |
Answer: | Amazon, or direct from char broil |

User questions & answers
Question: | I'm new at this, how do you connect this system between the amp and my guitar |
Answer: | I haven't done it myself, but I'm sure you could run a mic through it for vocals. Just keep in mind that it only has a 1/4" instrument input. So for a standard mic with XLR output, you'd need to get an XLR-to-1/4" cable in order to run it through the B1 Four. |
Question: | Is this 9v, 12v, or 18v |
Answer: | are you using a 1/8" stereo cable? 1 Foot 3.5mm (1/8") TRS Stereo Male to Male. is your music coming out of a stereo headphone jacl? let me know |
Question: | Is there a tap tempo |
Answer: | The expression pedal offers several functions. Yes, it can adjust volume or be used as a wah but it can also adjust intensity of effects. It's nice to be able to adjust the amount of overdrive or phaser, etc.., for example, with your foot. You can use it to adjust the pitch when using that effect. |
Question: | Does the Pelt come with a power cord |
Answer: | China |

User questions & answers
Question: | On this does the input go to my guitar and the output to my amp |
Answer: | No, even with headphones in... |
Question: | are any effects stereo? Is delay or chorus stereo |
Answer: | No |
Question: | Does this have a looper too |
Answer: | Yes, it does have Chorus and it has a full effects chain. Each subset (Modulation, Wah, Distortion etc.) has a number of different effects, and you can assign one per each in your chain. You can get some nice sounds for a small practice unit. You will not be able to add multiple distortion pedals, for example, in a signal chain. |
Question: | Hi. Foes it have Chorus, and if does, can we play Chorus together with others effects |
Answer: | Yes, but once engaged volume control is disabled. This pedal is super sick though. Extremely rugged and you can adjust the frequency band of the wah as well. It's worth every penny. Big fan here... This is my first EBS pedal and it's awesome!! |

Answer: | No, it's a reverb pedal with 7 different reverb modes. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Can you pause/unpause this |
Answer: | You can do either. Set the pitch correction to a specific key or just let it adjust automatically. I have found the auto feature works the best. |
Question: | Does it come with the power supply |
Answer: | According to the manual, 80 secs. I haven't used the looper for more than 20 secs yet. |
Question: | Could I use the pedals built in without looping |
Answer: | The VE-8 comes with an AC power supply, but that is only for the secondary to the back of the unit. You would need to get an AC converter or step-up transformer, from 120VAC to 220VAC, on the primary, for operation outside the U.S. |
Question: | Can you loop your voice and guitar at the same time |
Answer: | W Ng - I set up the Boss VE-8 differently than most, and it isn't hands free, but it is very effective. I have been using the unit live at gigs for over a year now. I cannot afford the time between songs to navigate the pedal on the ground with the different vocal and guitar effects I use (harmonies, vocal reverb, some guitar effects, etc). So I have the pedal sitting on a stand in front of me waist high (I stand). This allows me to make simple adjustments between songs by hand. I also have the Boss FS-7 foot switch set up ($60.00 on Amazon). This sits on the ground, and I am able to turn harmonies on and off during a song while continuing to play. Would also work switching on or off a guitar effect, the looper, etc. This system works very well live, and I waste very little time between songs with adjustments. i absolutely love this unit by the way. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Does it work for bass guitars |
Answer: | Yes, it will work for any instrument that has a pickup. Bass guitar, Steel guitar, etc. |
Question: | Is the unit able to control another pedals (such as strymon timeline) throught midi connection |
Answer: | Yes it is |
Question: | It runs on 9 Volt... how many milliampere (mA) does it require |
Answer: | I read that the HX Stomp uses the same power supply as its flagship big brother, Helix, which uses a 3 Ampere (or 3000 milliamperes) supply, so one might assume that the HX Effects uses the same 'brick' (AC Adapter, power supply, etc.). |
Question: | can you emulate a bass with a guitar |
Answer: | The HX Effects has a pitch shifting effect, so you could try. It won't sound very accurate when it comes to emulating a bass. |
