Answer:	I use principally in a partially flooded cave. It is out of the water more than it is submerged.

Answer:	I use 2 18650 batteries. I believe you can use 3 AAA w/an adapter but I have not done so. Great light, plenty bright, and lasts more than one dive of 30-40 min. I would guess it's good for two or more dives but I usually put fresh batteries after each dive.
