Answer:	Not sure I wouldn't loosen the tail cap while diving like the other person suggested. I had the same issue with the way I clip my dive light - very easy to hit that little button and that is my only issue with this light - I tried quite a few things like a plastic (hard shell) holster and even cut out a custom fitting plastic shield over it - all of which caused more difficulty than was worth not accidentally blinding myself or fellow divers if it cut on accidentally (or drained battery life). Here is the solution I came up with that actually turned out perfect for me.. I JB welded the thin part of a brass gromet over/around the button - I had one on hand that was the PERFECT sized hole and just had to trim a little off one side of the gromet for that perfect fit (brass was easily bent to confirm to the curve of the light). What this did was create a protective barrier around the button to prevent accidental hitting it unless something poked it just the right way - and it's still super easy (much more than my previous attempts) to press the button unless you have crazy fat/fluffy fingers - you just have to remember to push with the tip of your finger into the gromet center and that worked like a charm. Remember to sand/scratch up the light case around the button for the best adhesion. I'm also not going to say you should 100% do this b/c I don't want to be liable for non crafty types breaking their lights.. - it requires perfect placement so you don't hinder the button from coming back up so keep that in mind. I'd post a pic if it would let me here but hopefully that gives you an idea.

Keep in mind that having a neutrally buoyant (metal) light will usually mean the light is significantly larger than it needs to be in order to have the air space needed for it to achieve that neutral buoyancy.

I don't think it is a design defect Diving flashlights are usually used in complex water, such as fresh water, sea water, turbid water and salinity. Different kinds of water have different effects on flashlights. Advantages: 1. It is removable, clean and easy to maintain. Why is it so designed? When you dive in turbid water or high salinity water, the switch gap will enter into very small sand particles or accumulated sea salt, which may cause the switch to jam. The detachable switch can be removed after each diving, cleaned and maintained to ensure that it can play a better role next time. If it is a rotary switch, it is not removable, it will not be removed, when it can not rotate, the flashlight will be scrapped. 2. The highest level of water resistance. Answer:	It seems my two units are having problems after one dive trip, Sometimes they work, sometimes they don't. They're great lights, when they work. But I can't depend on them. So, how do I do this switch maintenance? Use a tweezer to rotate the switch ring? rotate which way, clockwise? Switch ring, do you mean the silver surrounding the button? I'd really like to keep the lights, but having undependable gear at 50' at night is not something I want to do
