Are Kegels right for you?
Having trouble containing yourself after a hearty feast? Can’t quite seem to raise the drawbridge all the way? Is it time to tighten up the honey pot now that baby bear got outta there? If you answered “yes” to any of these questions, it may be time to consider making Kegels a part of your personal workout regimen.
How do they ride?
The Orangatang Kegel is your ticket to high-speed steamroller action and the obliteration of a variety of small mammals. The large 80mm diameter generates high roll speeds while a moderate width of 56mm allows for a versatile balance of traction and slide response. A cantilevered outer lip with a straight profile is pliable enough to hug the road for grip while also ensuring consistent performance as the wheel wears. The shorter inner lip features a subtle inward bevel for race-worthy traction and predictable drifts. A fully-exposed 46mm core with a deep “valley”-shaped cross section reduces weight while providing good acceleration, lots of momentum, and crisp slides.
Which urethane formula?
The Kegel is poured in our proprietary Happy Thane formula for high roll speed, excellent traction, and smooth, predictable drifts.
Available in three durometers (hardness ratings): 77a (blue), 80a (orange), and 83a (purple).
What's included?
A set of four longboard skateboard wheels.
About Orangatang
Orangatang Wheels was hatched in 2008 as a means of advocating for the civil liberties of the indigenous river capybaras of Southern California. We also gained international praise in 2009 for our brief and completely unrelated foray into exotic animal jerky manufacturing and wholesale.
- DOWNHILL LONGBOARDING WHEELS – Designed for maximum speed and grip for downhill skateboard racing, hard carving, pumping, and long-distance pushing. Package includes Loaded Jehu V2 bearings (set of 8) with extended inner raceways to eliminate the need for separate spacers and speed rings.
- ROLL OVER ANYTHING – With a large 80mm diameter, the Kegels roll with breakneck speed and plow over cracks, rocks, sticks, and the roughest roads.
- MAXIMUM TRACTION – Sharp, square lips provide maximum grip while still sliding smoothly when desired.
- HAPPY THANE – The original Orangatang urethane formula is smooth, plush, and grippy with a buttery-smooth slide. Now available in three durometers: 77a (blue), 80a (orange), and 83a (purple).
- LARGE, SUPPORTIVE CORE – The fully exposed 46mm core reduces weight while providing quick acceleration and crisp slides.
User questions & answers
Question: | How many miles will these wheels last |
Answer: | I have no idea, these are skateboard wheels. I have been skateboarding for over 30 years, and I have never seen a mileage rating for a wheel. These are quality wheels, Orangutang wheels are one of my favorite manufacturers. You will enjoy these wheels, I swear. |
Question: | Does this come with 4 or 2 wheels |
Answer: | Hi, Thank you for your interest in Orangatang Kegels. All Orangatang wheels are sold in sets of 4, enough for 1 complete skateboard. Your 5-star satisfaction is our #1 priority. Please feel free to contact us with any other questions or concerns. Thanks, David |
Question: | Can i buy this wheel in black from another manufacture because i’m pretty sure they don’t have it |
Answer: | Hey James, Orangatang is the only company to offer this wheel. We have it in Orange (80a) and Purple (83a). |
Question: | I have a 44" Gold Coast with 70mm stock wheels, will these fit and will I have enough clearance to carve? Trucks are also stock "Century" seem wide |
Answer: | Hi Tony, Thanks for your interest in the Orangatang Kegel. We would not recommend this setup. Larger wheels are going to make the board a lot heavier and slower turning. In my opinion, any advantages you gain from the larger wheels will be overshadowed by disadvantages. However, you could make it work with risers pads. Probably 1/2 inch risers would be enough, but this is hard to say without seeing your exact setup. Please feel free to contact us with any other questions or concerns. Thanks,David |
