14 best wireless guitar cords
Wireless guitar cords, also known as wireless guitar systems or wireless guitar transmitters, are devices used by guitarists and other musicians to eliminate the need for a physical cable connection between their guitar and the amplifier or audio equipment. These systems offer freedom of movement on stage and in the studio while maintaining high-quality audio transmission. Here are some key points about wireless guitar cords:
Wireless Transmission: Wireless guitar cords use radio frequency (RF) technology to transmit the audio signal from the guitar to a receiver unit, which is connected to the amplifier or sound system. This eliminates the need for traditional guitar cables.
Transmitter and Receiver: A typical wireless guitar system consists of two main components:
- Transmitter: Attached to the guitar, this compact device converts the guitar's audio signal into an RF signal for transmission.
- Receiver: Connected to the amplifier or mixer, the receiver unit receives the RF signal and converts it back into an audio signal for amplification and processing.
Freedom of Movement: One of the primary benefits of wireless guitar systems is the freedom of movement they provide to musicians. Guitarists can move around the stage without being tethered by a cable, making it easier to interact with the audience and other band members.
Audio Quality: Modern wireless guitar systems are designed to deliver high-quality audio with low latency and minimal interference. High-quality systems provide transparent audio transmission, preserving the tone and dynamics of the guitar.
Frequency Bands: Wireless guitar systems operate in various frequency bands, including UHF (Ultra High Frequency) and 2.4 GHz. Some systems offer multiple frequency options to avoid interference in crowded RF environments.
Range: The effective range of a wireless guitar system can vary depending on the model and environmental factors.Musicians can typically move several meters away from the receiver without signal dropouts.
Battery Life: Battery life is an essential consideration for wireless guitar systems. Musicians should ensure that the transmitter has sufficient battery capacity for the duration of their performances.
Compatibility: It's crucial to ensure that the wireless guitar system is compatible with the specific type of guitar and amplifier being used. Some systems may have different connectivity options, such as 1/4-inch jacks or XLR connectors.
Diversity Antennas: Some wireless guitar systems feature diversity antennas on the receiver, which help minimize signal dropouts by using multiple antennas to capture the strongest RF signal.
Channel Selection: In multi-channel systems, users can select from different channels or frequencies to avoid interference from other wireless devices in the vicinity.
Price Range: Wireless guitar systems come in a range of price points, with more expensive models often offering advanced features, better build quality, and superior audio performance.
Setup and Pairing: Setting up a wireless guitar system typically involves pairing the transmitter and receiver, selecting the appropriate channel, and adjusting gain settings to optimize audio quality.
In summary, wireless guitar cords provide musicians with the flexibility to move freely on stage without being constrained by cables while delivering high-quality audio performance. Musicians should choose a wireless system that suits their specific needs, taking into account factors like range, audio quality, and compatibility with their instruments and equipment.

User questions & answers
Question: | Will this transmitter fit into the surface plug on an Ibanez SR |
Answer: | It also work with a 9V battery , Model: 6F22 |
Question: | Does it have a headphone jack so that it can be used without an amp for practice |
Answer: | With guitars this short, you're better off tuning it higher. It'll maintain string tension better from my understanding. I think it's usually a fourth higher. Like having a capo at the 5th fret of a standard guitar. So the 1 and 6 strings are tuned to A rather than E. |
Question: | Would two sets of these work for a guitar>pedal board> amp? To make a fully wire less rig |
Answer: | Depends on his height. If he’s a bit small or standard height for his age, it will be great. If he’s big for his age, it might be s gamble. |
Question: | How natural does this sound on a fine acoustic guitar using a piezzo/preamped pickup like fishman or lr baggs |
Answer: | It dose not have a truss rod |

User questions & answers
Question: | can these be used in tandem with another set as in one transmitter guitar 2 foot pedal receiver out foot pedal transmitter to amplifier receiver |
Answer: | no |
Question: | How long does it take to charge and then how long does the battery last for? I read it's 5 hours one place and 7 hours somewhere else |
Answer: | I play an Ibanez 5 string bass. When the transmitter stays in place and you find the sweet spot of plugging it into the guitar, it works fine. The problem I am having is mainly caused by gravity and the plug not fitting overly tight to keep the transmitter in place. When you move around, the transmitter can loose good connection. Other than that, for the money, it is a decent piece of equipment. More in the prosumer category. |
Question: | it says "not fit for active pickup" does that mean it only works with passive pockups? why would that matter |
Answer: | Anything you would normally plug in with your cable this is the replacement to make it wireless. |
Question: | Will these help me convince my wife I need another bass |
Answer: | I just plug the usb mini into it and it charges up. Pretty simple. Plug n play |

User questions & answers
Question: | Can you use more than 2 of these on same stage |
Answer: | I have an acoustic with active pickups and it works fine. Works fine on my passive electric pickups too. |
Question: | Can I use this from mixer to powered speakers for audio and live voice? Wanna get rid of cables to speakers |
Answer: | Never tried that before and not sure it will work, but worth a try. |
Question: | Do they work with a guitar with active pickups |
Answer: | We do not suggest to leave them in charging too long, because this will harm the battery, and also there is a safety risk as always. Actually speaking, there is power indicator LED lights on the back side, which will remind you when it is in lower power and need charging, or it is full and no need charging any more, so that you will not forget to charge them, or over-charging them. |
Question: | can you use 4 sets of these at same time? when we try more than 3 we get interference |
Answer: | The manual shows an example of 1 receiver and 4 guitar pedals (w/transmitter), implying a practical multi transmitter setup. If 1 receiver is used, and multiple transmitters are connected on the same channel (ex, 1 bass, 1 uke, 1 violin all on channel 3) as long as they're not used simultaneously, would they function properly? |

User questions & answers
Question: | Have you ever noticed a bit of static/ noise that fades when you first strike a note after a few moments of silence |
Answer: | If Ibanez SR300 has 6.35mm jack, our GWS-8 guitar wireless can be applied to this guitar!Thank you for supporting our wireless guitar! |
Question: | This wireless guitar systems sometimes makes strange noises while in use |
Answer: | Dear Freind, Thank you for your friendly inquiry about Getaria wireless guitar system. What a shame! There is no 3.5 audio jack on the wireless guitar transmitter side, so you can't plug any headphone jack into the Getaria wireless guitar system, we suggest you a set of Getaria wireless guitar transmitter and receiver in this situation. |
Question: | I found my wireless guitar systems cannot be charged properly |
Answer: | Yes, this will work. You can put a pair of these anywhere you would use a signal cable. I chained 3 pair to see if they would flake out and they did fine. Pair the one from the guitar to the pedal board, then pair the one from the pedal board to the amp. You can also pair the one from the pedal board to the amp and a third from the amp line out to the mixer. Granted this is not how you would usually go from the amp to the mixer, but it works. Do not plug it into anything that would normally take a speaker wire. That will fry it as there is amperage on the line. |
Question: | Can 2 transmitters send to one receiver |
Answer: | I play nylon guitars exclusively...my best is a Amin Hannika Torres with no amplification, so I use that as a standard. I have a Gary Zimnicki with a non-amplified piezo that goes direct to my AER60. It sounds the same whether I use a high quality cable of the Getaria in a concert/club setting; in the studio there is a slight drop-off that most listeners could not discern. I also use a 2002 Ramirez a/e with a Fishman preamp and piezo (i never use the microphone component); I cannot tell the difference between cable or Getaria mainly because the preamp changes the clear acoustic quality - not bad or good, just not like an unamplified guitar. As an aside, I have a Taylor with espresso system, an L5 that I put P90s on, and a 5620 Gretsch with black top histones, and on all of them the Gertaria is great, no hum, no noise, no interference. But the big thing for me in all settings - live, studio, rehearse, practice - is have NO cord to tangle, step on or buzz. I don't give recommendations, but I bought 2 sets of these to have while one is charging, and will buy them again if these break. I've used them for about 4 months. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Will this work with a yamaha yev 104nt electric violin? i could be too big to plug into the port under the fingerboard. thanks |
Answer: | If the body of the transmitter doesn't quite fit into the area, you could maybe try getting a very short patch cord and seeing if that would work for you. Not sure if just having it dangle that way would be a workable solution. Not sure if you could find a way to make this work or not. |
Question: | how does it take to fully charge this sytem before its first use |
Answer: | 3 to 4 hours |
Question: | Plug part rotatable |
Answer: | yes |
Question: | Has anyone used this on a Bass guitar yet ? If so how does it sound |
Answer: | I use it with a bass, sounds fine. My only issue with it is the transmitter times out in a few minutes - haven't actually timed it so I don't know the exact time. I've been caught more than once after a music break longer than I expected and when we start the transmitter has timed out - no sound. Don't have a problem with the receiver timing out so I just have to restart the transmitter. To keep this from happening when I know a longer break is coming up is to switch my pedals to tuning with no sound and occasionally pluck a string to keep the transmitter going. |

Product description
Relay G30 redefines the wireless experience for guitarists and bassists. Its superior sound, professional dependability and refreshing simplicity are unavailable from other wireless systems.
|
Superior Sound
Relay G30 provides a pure signal. Its clarity rivals that of the highest-quality guitar cables. Guitars get a beautiful high-end sparkle and basses get a thunderous low-end punch, even at distances of up to 30 meters. Traditional wireless systems compromise their sound by rolling-off crucial high- and low-end frequencies and compressing their signals. Relay G30 offers superior sound with full bandwidth and zero compression.
Professional Dependability
Relay G30 broadcasts its robust signal over the 2.4GHz band. This keeps the signal free from many kinds of interference. For added security, Relay G30 employs exclusive signal protection technology: it broadcasts an encrypted data stream on six channels simultaneously.
![]() Receiver features side-mounted 1/4-inch ins and outs and internal antennas, making it easy to add to a pedal board. |
![]() Switch between cable and wireless systems without having to adjust the tone settings on your amplifier. |
Traditional wireless systems, on the other hand, are susceptible to dropouts, static and many other kinds of interference. Broadcasting over congested UHF bands, their signals may be affected by interference generated as far away as 160 kilometers, or more.
Refreshing Simplicity
Relay G30 is a low-profile system that's easy to use. The lightweight transmitter remains out of the way of your performance, and the rugged receiver can sit on top of your amp or be added to your pedal board. The receiver offers easy-to-read LEDs that display power, status and battery life.
Attached to Your Guitar Cable?
For players attached to cables, adopting a wireless system introduces many questions: What will it feel like? Will it change my sound? Relay G30 sounds just like a cable, but it also sounds just like your cable. Relay G30 features two EQ settings that match the frequency responses of typical guitar cables. Different players use different cables, but all players can use Relay G30.
VWT
Exclusive VWT (Virtual Wire Transmission) technology ensures full-range frequency response, excellent transient response, and wide dynamic range - just like a high-quality guitar cable.
Superior Specs
Relay digital wireless systems produce full-range tones with 10Hz-20kHz frequency response, exceedingly low noise with up to 120dB dynamic range, and studio-quality resolution with 24-bit A/D conversion. (Comparably priced analog wireless systems offer 50Hz-15kHz frequency response and >90dB dynamic range. This wreaks havoc on your tone, especially if you use a high-gain amp.)
Cable Tone Simulation
Using a cable and a wireless system? Now you can switch back and forth without having to adjust the tone settings on your amplifier. Relay digital wireless systems feature a Cable Tone Simulator, which lets you match the sound of your Relay to the sound of your cable.
Compander-Free
Companders squash your signal and ruin your tone. Analog wireless systems require companders but Relay wireless systems do not. Remaining compander-free enables Relay to deliver a beautiful high-end sparkle, thunderous low-end punch, and touch response that analog wireless systems simply cannot deliver.
Remaining compander-free gives better sound than analog wireless systems.
DCL
Exclusive DCL (Digital Channel Lock) technology automatically locks out all sources of interference. The only sound that will come out of your amplifier is you--not static, not Top 40 radio--just you.
2.4GHz broadcast
The best way to avoid interference? Don't get in its way. Relay digital wireless systems broadcast in the 2.4GHz band, which successfully avoids interference caused by TV stations, public safety broadcasts, cell phone towers, and other high-powered sources.
What About WiFi?
Worried about interference caused by 2.4GHz WiFi networks and Bluetooth devices? Don't be. Relay digital wireless systems use uniquely addressed and encoded digital transmission technology. Your tone will make it from your transmitter to your receiver free of interference.
![]() Don't waste time scanning for open channels. |
Full Quality, No Matter What
Whether you're playing two feet from your Relay G30 or at the edge of its range, you get the same great specs: full frequency response, superior dynamic range, cable-inspired dependability, and 24-bit A/D conversion.
All Channels, All the Time
All channels in all Relay digital wireless systems work all the time. Too good to be true? Maybe for an analog wireless system. Relay digital wireless systems are different. There's no website to reference, and no need to scan for open channels.

User questions & answers
Question: | How long is the 1/4" cable that is included |
Answer: | Why wouldn't you, it's a GUITAR strap, and an acoustic is a GUITAR.... Don't listen to the dum dum who said it is made for electric guitars, as they are obviously clueless. |
Question: | Does the transmitter make any pop sound when you turn ON or OFF the power switch? This is important since it doesn't have a mute button like the G |
Answer: | It's a light purple sort of neon like but definitely not a wine color |
Question: | I'm looking at using this with an acoustic electric bass. I see lots of comments about how great it makes guitars sound, but nothing about a bass |
Answer: | They sure are. These come 100% ready to bolt on. The strap screws are slightly larger that the factory screws so screw them in slowly. |
Question: | Will the g30 work in usa and does it do good with a bottom b bass string |
Answer: | Depends on the shape of your guitar. I have a long (extra connector pack purchased separately) & short combo on the neck heel/ lower body of my SG and the neck strap sits on the horn and the lower sits on the body while in the case. It hasn't hurt anything. |
