Answer:	While I don't recall seeing a warning on the packaging of the 100 watt equivalent Halogen bulbs not to do so, in my experience they run MUCH hotter than 100 watt incandescent bulbs. I would not recommend doing so unless the enclosed fixture is very spacious and even then I would keep close track of the fixture temperature until I was assured that the heat was not excessive.
Question:	Can these be used outdoors
Answer:	These absolutely do NOT dim. They destroyed my outdoor light fixture that matches one on the other side of the garage. The fixture automatically changed from 1/2-way dim to full bright based on motion. I originally paid an electrician to install the fixture which worked well with many actual dimmable bulbs in the past. Very soon after inserting this item's bulb, the light fixture failed and would not work again, even after I changed the bulb to one from a local store, with box actually labeled "Dimmable" - I tried several of those bulbs which work fine in the matching fixture. SHAMEFUL that the vendor includes the word "Dimmable" on their Amazon text heading and URL for the item. (Note that the picture image does Not mention dimmable.) Amazon needs to address the listing immediately. Why does it STILL say "Dimmable"?

Answer:	You can buy regular 75 watt Sylvania bulbs on Amazon, and they are shown to be 1170 lumens. I think 1150 lumens is about average for soft white. These 800 lumen so-called replacements are a scam. Same with what they're passing off as 100 watt replacements now--the Phillips 72 watt halogen replacement used to be 1490 lumens, about 10% less brightness than the regular bulbs, but now they're 1120 lumens, 30% less bright, same percentage less bright as these 75 watt replacements--I just returned a batch Phillips 72 watt, 100 watt replacements which were advertised to be the 1490 lumen version but weren't.
